Threaten me through the darkness
engulf me in your flames
but release me from hate's grip
so that I might soar once again.

Push me into the pits of despair
drown me in life's gloom
but open up the possibilities
so that I might soar once again.

Walk me through the wilderness
test my resolve with your pain
but teach me the lessons of love
so that I might soar once again.

Inundate me with your kindness
fortify me with your compassion
let the inner peace set in
so does the need to soar again.

One dark lonely night when the moon
was bereft of his starry wives,
he came back to me in my dream
to sing and dance the song of death alive!

He held my hand, drew me closer,
pressed my bossom to his chest,
a devilous smile crossed his lips
as my tears found its oceanic rest.

His eyes never left my sight
nor a moment did his hand lose its hold
as he held me close in an embrace
full of peace and serenity to be told.

His smile spread in my cheeks
like the rise of the early morning sun.
The fresh dew drops of his love
welled up in my being soon.

The time was like the sand
too loose to be held by hand
without any weeping, holding or clinging
I let go off myself in his delirious swing.

When I finally awoke from my sleep
his fragrance was in the air too heavy to bear
as the mad pursuit of his unknown desire
seemed to be floating in the morning air.

A Sincere Smile

A smile is all it shall take
for another soul to smile in its wake.
Whether for lust, love or passion,
or sympathy, trust, or compassion,
a sincere smile is all it shall take.
Though tulips, roses, and charity
provide peaceful clarity,
a hearty smile diminishes negative polarity.
Our good intentions, smiles do serve
for we don't hesitate with those who deserve.
A warm smile is a mother's priceless expression
but a wry smile is a lover's honest obsession.
When searching for the right words,
a shy smile is all we share
yet, like a thousand sweet poems,
they show that we care.
