"Danger," reads the sign "A Trap Lies Ahead!"
I planted it here, and I painted it red.

It's stuck on a post and sits by my gate.
It's meant as a warning, but really it's bait.

The road winds deep through the woods to the house that I built.
It leads to the door that I hung and the rooms that I filled.

The neighbors pass by and the passersby glance
They read my red sign and think, "Well, I'll take the chance."

They start up the path with their feet falling soft.
Hunched shoulders spin fast 'neath their heads held aloft.

The trees stretch their limbs above and join hands in the middle.
The wind wanders through and plays their creaks like a fiddle.

The shadows, they dance and they jump and they lurk like tricksters.
Rocks piled high, were they planted here or are they fixtures?

On it goes, until soon the trap becomes real,
And my visitors shake their head and they turn on their heel.

I crow and I cackle as I peek through my blinds
For the trap, you see, was set in their minds.

For you, you are my god.

Above time and change, you float

Above time and change.

You float.

Life spins by shaping like a potter’s wheel

Each spin is new, but you, you are still

Her tide hurls me into the spray

Each wave scatters my soul, but you, you are still

When I am lost, I find you.

For you, you are who I am.

For you, you are my god.
