Almost 4:00 am
Minahil Khan Apr 2020
A moonlit sky
Melodies and symphonies
Splayed across her soul
Oceans painted
Clouds of joy and smoke
Red threads joining,
Binding
Time bleeds and slows
Whispers around us
Sweet nothings and somethings
Dancing across Narcissus fields

A honeyed state of mind
A dream scape of mine

Standing on my little hill
I look down at the view
They all go about their days
Seemingly without care

I wonder at them
With obvious contempt
Simple creatures with simple wants
Do they ever think beyond their box?

I look around my high seat
No one near me for miles at least
A spectator to other’s days
Exasperated and amused

I gaze at the distance then
A higher place just across
Another lonely figure is there
Looking down at the view

Perhaps they wonder at me too
With obvious disdain
For at my core, I am like them

A simple creature with simple wants
Trying hard to reach outside my box
