She clung on to the past
Wrapped her arms around it
Pressed against her heart
Old memories stuck on her
Like a virus
Never wanting to heal
She was trapped,
Stuck with nowhere to go
She’s been crying
For so long
Waiting for a miracle
But she woke up today
And saw the sunlight
Creeping in through her shades
She opened them
And was greeted with such brightness
It was so warm
It was so perfect
The light danced upon her skin
And she smiled
And thought
‘Today is beautiful’
She opened her arms
And welcomed the new day
The new time
The new life
She feels a little frightened
But has never felt more ready
It’s time to start fresh
New
Letting go
And reaching out
Everyday is beautiful
And she's gonna let the beauty shine

I am here --
standing in front of you
but your eyes look through me --
through my heart

Do you not see me any more?

I am here --
as if drifting on a gentle breeze
I brush against you
and caress your skin

Do you not feel me any more?

I am here --
on this breeze that soon turns cold
whence my soul
will be carried away --

and forever be out of sight

I counted the hours
now the days
Will I count the weeks?
The months?

I suspect I will.

It was beautiful

It was special

Feelings known only with you
now float like driftwood
on the vast ocean between us

The words:

hard true hope

The poem:

My vanished love,
do you not remember
the life we planned?
A vision our hearts and souls
wove together, day by day,
letters sealed with our own
cincquain kiss.

My now distant love,
how beautiful was the night
from the circle of your arms--
sweet 'tis still,
in my "man from an angel"
dream.

The lonely moon
makes a silver necklace
of my tears,
while the night winds,
once bearers of
your love's whispers,
breathe spirit words
into my shattered heart.

This careless pain you gave,
does gentle, yes,
does gentle
in time, into
a hard, true, hope.

Will it surprise you
to know I've been with you
all these many days we've been apart?
Or have you felt my soul reaching out
to draw you close and hold you in my heart?

Time after time I have closed my eyes
to shut away the world and see your face.
Have you seen my eyes as they have sought for yours
to drink from them your light and loving grace?

Oh, how you water my soul with your presence!
Like a desert I burst into bloom!
When, like a rainbow, your smile shines upon me,
banished from my sky is all gloom.

Now joy reigns and tears are forgotten.
All loneliness melts into light.
Now I am sure that through you She has touched me--
the Mother of all that is bright.
Another love song I wrote some time ago.

I would drink those tears
though they were an ocean
I would clear your clouded sky
with a faithful friend's devotion
I would hug and hold you close
while you weep with deep emotion
I would drink those tears
