don’t you worry
my darling child

don’t you worry
for you
you
are the knight
in glistening armor
traveling through space

you are but one
star in a universe
of others

each sadness
not a black hole
but a meteorite
just passing through

and happiness
happiness is the
brilliant sunrise
over the dark-filled sky

don’t you worry
for each star
is unique
and you

you are not alone
we all feel the same things
we love
we lose
we live

so don’t you worry
my darling child
everything will
fall into place
just you wait
thoughts?

i look into your chocolate eyes
and hold you close.

hold you close because i am afraid
too afraid to see you go.

because who could love
someone like me?

i love the sunshine on my cheeks
the smell of new rain
flowers bursting from the ground
the warmth of the oven as i open it for the oozy, gooey chocolate chip cookies
the color purple
tea and a good book
the sound of a the strings of a guitar floating up to my window
the way you hold me when i'm sad, when i'm happy
pretty dresses and fancy dinners
playing in the mud
jumping into the cold atlantic ocean
feeling alive
smiles
chocolate
friends
me!
not really a good poem, but it needed to be written.

How long is forever
When time doesn’t pass

How long is forever
When the world is spinspinspinning
And you’re clinging by a thread
Toes reaching the stars
With a galaxy brain

How long is forever
When a dream is
Waking
And you lose
Reality

How long is forever
When three hours
Is two blinks
In one kiss

How long is forever, she asked
Sometimes,
Just
One
Second,
He responded
based on a passage from Alice in Wonderland

summer toes

i pressed my ear to your chest
and i swore i heard the sea
just beyond your heart
a beating of the waves
one
        after
                another

tell me the water is warm
let me dip my summer toes
into the depths of your soul

tell me the moon won't change your tides
for the moon is inconstant
wavering month by month

i’ll dip my summer toes
to the bottom of the sea
but you
you will be pulled back out
too far to reach

for the moon is more powerful than i

the sea

she introduces you
to the bliss that is possible
she pulls you in
seduces you

she calls to you in the darkness
she looks like the night sky if
you dip your toe in

somehow her scheme works
you find yourself
thrown in to the icy abyss

you are numb
long forgotten by your glacial lover
lost in the swirling water

as the sun rises
you wonder whether
to grab the ladder
or to sink
for my creative writing course

three words can rule your life
i love you
i am sorry
it’s my fault

they wrap themselves
around the heart
squeezing
pushing
until it bursts

three words can end everything
i am sorry
i can’t anymore
*everything feels wrong

i'm not sure what i'm feeling lately
lost, i suppose
confused
angry
sad
maybe i'm just numb
here, but unable to grasp reality
i hate this poem, but it's how i feel.

i am having a really hard time
not writing about you

you
the one who touched my soul
my heart
my body

you
the one who left

you
the one who i should have expected

you
the one who broke the freshman girl’s heart
back in high school

you
the one left a beautiful girl
to be with me

you
the one who told me about the beautiful girls
who had come and gone
before

you
the one who warned me about the inability to
open up

you
the one who i believed
would change
because i’m different than the others
right

you
the one who left me
confused
and with a smashed heart
to be with a beautiful girl
who would leave new constellations
on your neck
struggling to write about anything but my ex for my creative writing class.
