The right choice
Being a good person
I think we all "think" we're doing the right thing, but not everybody sees it the same way you do.
Everyone perceives things differently and that's not necessarily a bad thing nor is it all that good.
But there's only so much we can do.
We can't please everyone..

I can't tell you which is my
imagination.
One pretends to exist while the
other truly lives.
I can't tell if the echo in my
mind is lying or simply telling me
to let it go.
But how could my mind possibly
want me to rid myself of it if it
constantly reminds me?
Reoccurring horrors that happened
so long ago.
I shouldn't have a reason to
hold on.
Should I?

Could it be?
How couldn't it?
The signs are clear.
Or, are they?
Could they be?
Should they be?...
Is there a secret way to know?
Probably not.
How can it be?
I just feel it.
Oh, no...

One, two, three, four, five, six...
Counting the seemingly endless rows of happiness.
And seeing how the light dances off of your skin.
The breeze sweeping through your hair.
Eyes shining with the perfect tint of honey.
Lips curving sweetly with simplicity.
How you seem to be at ease.
Your breathing so calm and light.
Your heart, warm at my fingertips.
Your perfection overwhelms me.
But that's what makes me feel okay.

Never mind to you.
You're not healthy for me.
Making me weak to my knees,
I always come back to you.
Even without reason.
Or due to the false hope
in my blackened mind.
Your eyes are warm and inviting.
Yet your words can be cold as
ice.
Actions should prove what your
words are unable.
So, never mind to you.

Why have these words become so potent?
When they stand with aimless meaning.
They erode your mind and sting your heart pleasurably.
As if it had that burning feeling of a kiss upon your cheek.
As if it held the intensity of your paramour's stare.
