Snow pouring like salt
Expected in cold winter
Yet it's March lamb's spring

Hello, my name is Chuck
(Hello, Chuck!)
It feels strange
To be here
I've been addicted
My entire life
However, the past three months
Have been a verbal blur
Upon awaking,
I get a fix
Before coffee stimulates
My corpse
To be totally honest
Sometimes
I do it at work
Sleep alludes me
Because
It parties in my veins
At first
My mind was clouded
From peering
Into the eyes
Of the beast
Now, it haunts
My family
Disrupting the harmony
There within
I must
Sleigh the
Monster
Or
At least
Tame it

Hello, I'm Chuck
I'm addicted to
Poetry
(Grinning as I type)
Admitting
There is a
Problem
Is the first step
I keep trippin'!
Upon reflection after a discussion with my family. I love poetry, but I can't let it interfere with my number one love, my family. It's been wonderful the last three months on Hello, but I need to spend less time on my iPad. I will read all of your poems. I just have to control my addiction, so I never have to quit cold turkey! It is your fault! You are all just so **** talented! No, the culpability remains mine alone.

I'm a rough rider with a Henry rifle.
You're forced to sling ***** in a smoke filled saloon.
I'm just a cowpoke kickin' dust with cattle.
Whiskey's needed and gamblin' and a fun tune.
Gallop my pinto to Silverado's Star.
Saw the perdiest little thang at he bar.
Order the good stuff, say, "Howdy," take a belt.
I reckon I falled in love, they way I felt!
This is my first Rispetto. If you want to learn the form, read Somthin's Purge. I never heard of this before Somethn. Some of the names came from the movie, Silverado. I hope you like it, I reckon. Thanks, Somethin!

"Howdy, mam! My name's Rusty. You can trust me."
"How do? I'm Sally. This haint my ole corral."
"With due respect, you're fresh, this place is *****."
"You slick cowboys know what to say to a gal."
"Our eyes locked like a couple of rattlesnakes."
"Mister, yer makin' a terrible mistake.
I do feel somethin' fer ya, but I'm caught here."
"Well, I'll just have ta uncetch ya, Sal ma dear."
Check out Somethin's Purge to learn the Rispetto. Thanks!

I am not an outlaw, but I'm a gambler.
Loaded my ole Colt, then closed my Henry's bolt.
I'll rescue Sally and roam as a rambler.
First, I'll shoot the sheriff and rob his bank volt.
Ride into town, guns blazin', deputies die!
Blow the safe, grab the girl, get shot in the thigh.
Sally starts shootin', kills the corrupt sheriff.
Posse's chasin', a cowboy's love life if rough.

She thinks
She feels
She ponders
She breathes
She contemplates
She lives in pieces
She wonders
She suffers torment
She remains foot-in-mouth free
Thanks to Christa Cannon for the notes on pieces! It works better than my original line!

Your limitless future brings great fear
The future is less far and more near
Glasses will replace cellphones next year
Hundreds can share one's eyes
People you replace will shed a tear
Tech is human's demise

You con with lights and buttons and bells
Amplifying strength, you fit in cells
We drown in technological wells
You thrive and humans shrink
The addiction will rot us in Hell
People! Log off and think!

When do we cease with this life carefree
It's time people let well enough be
Tech will soon replace humans for free
Tractors and new machines
Starved, by stealing the jobs of many
Limitations obscene
Robert Burns is my favorite poet! It is an honor to use his stanza form. I am not crazy. I just had a conversation with my friend about the benefits and detriments of future technologies. Check out Google Glass!

Love out loud
Sing in silence
Live in lullabies

Salesmen

I conversed with
Salesmen today

I was smart and witty
They hung on every
Word I spewed

My opinions where all astute
They bowed with great reverence
My attempts at levity
Were greeted with heartfelt laughter

I conversed with
Salesmen today
I was John Stewart,
Jerry Seinfeld, and Bill Clinton
I was interesting and debonair

Then I came home
To you
And I am . . . Nobody
I did talk to salesmen but the rest is just thematic not true to my life.

New Car

Chuck
I bought a new car today
It is red with
A sunroof
And trendy black wheels

I'll cruise by with music blaring
And smile
And wave my hand
Through the open roof

There will remain a hole
In my heart and soul
That is black with
Tiny scars where life and you scratched me
And there is no bandage so it heals
I did get a car, but the rest is thematic! I wanted to comment on materialism. Materials can't plug holes, but I have no holes now. Thanks for reading!
