this world makes me sad
it fills me with pain
to see so many people
suffering
to see them in so much agony

but what breaks me
is i am powerless witness to this

my mom calls me fat
she has been for a long time
but what astonishes me
is that she has the courage
to tell me
that her father called her fat
too
