I could disassemble myself,
Placing my digits in a line of increasing size on a
Metal table,
Measuring by the millimeter and
Inspecting each incision.

I could stand in the path of the
West wind,
Watching my skin come apart
Atom by atom and
Be scattered on the breeze like the
Ashes of so many men.

They could stretch out their hands and
Shake out their hair and
March between mountains,
Conquering every enemy that
Blocks our many paths.

They could become dust motes,
Finding a vivid green eye to irritate or
An antique fur coat to settle in and
Multiply into an army of myself,
Surveying the surface of the world.

I would watch them stamp and tumble and
Fall into the cracks in the ground,
Scraped into the countryside by our
Pens seeking a certain truth.

They would become cramped in those cracks,
Fighting for sunlight and air that's
Stained with the smell of cheap sugar icing and
Sweat from the brow of a child
Playing tag.

Once more the ancient feast returns,
And the bright hearth domestic burns
  With Yuletide's added blaze;
So, too, may all your joys increase
Midst floods of mem'ry, love, and peace,
  And dreams of Halcyon days.

I hear you pull into the drive and the free spirit
I've exercised all day abruptly folds into itself.
I greet you at the door with a pasted smile,
asking how your day was, expecting no reply yet,
feeling the sting when I get none.
Supper is served and you take yours into the
living room, plopping yourself on the couch,
balancing the plate and the remote with the finesse
of a curbside juggler.
I remain at the table, staring at you, staring at the TV,
while a childhood rhyme plays in my head,
*Nobody loves me, everybody hates me.
Guess I'll go eat worms!

Early September and the leaves are falling,
they crunch beneath my feet
as I walk the dogs through the park.
Scattered on the lawn they've become
brown and brittle, fragile as my heart.
Soon they will be trampled and forgotten,
as if their existence in nature never mattered,
as if life never coursed through their veins,
with no thought as to how they played
in the scheme of things.
How easily we forget
little things that once mattered,
hearts,
leaves,
it's all the same thing.

Have you noticed,
That when we gaze at each other,
We stare a second longer?
I have.

Have you noticed,
Your eyes get a little brighter,
When i'm looking into them?
I have.

Have you noticed,
We ****** back,
When our hands grazed the other day?
I have.

Have you noticed,
That big smile that stretches across your face,
Gleaming, when i see you?
I have.

Have you noticed,
That i'm there for you,
When she doesn't have a care in the world?
I have.

Have you noticed,
That you comforted me,
When he said unforgiveable things?
I have.

Have you noticed,
When we hugged we held on a little longer,
Through the pain and hurt?
I have.

I have noticed,
The signs that could be leading up to,
Us falling for each other,
Have you?

“I don’t believe in love”
He said
“There’s just this
Sycophantic idea with forever
And that somehow our passion
Could last exactly that long”

I think about you
And I almost believe him
But I know
I can love you forever

I am too good at bear hugs
And am fully flexible
When it comes to Kama Sutra napping
I can hold you in slumber
From any angle

I know there are days
Where I fall so far apart
The slow drag of my soul
Along the ground
Pieces me back together a little *****

I am a little *****
Especially when it comes to my mouth
I say things sometimes
That surprise the disgusting

I hope you like ***** talk

And I hope you can be patient
Forever is a long time to love somebody

I mean
Centuries from now
After my soul has doubled back
On it’s ***** self
So many times I come back as just a flower
I will still try and smell nice for you

And I will try and stay alive in
Whatever *** you drown me in
For as long as I can

I mean
I can’t live forever
But as long as I do
I am fully capable
Of loving you
Lemme know if the format is a little off. I am trying to use stanzas more than just the line for line thing I was doing before.

The fact is your presence is intoxicating
like smoke you enter
assaulting my body but soothing my mind
creator of soul shadows;
flavours of margarita,  mohitos on the side –
all I want is you
on the side

i want you when your absence is obvious
you are my soul-searcher, my thought-finder

this mind that holds you intact caresses me
(envelopes) me (completely)
light to dark you are my solar eclipse
between what is and what should be

you are you, just the way I never expected you –
talk to me; I have ears and eyes and arms and hands for you alone

patches of paint I give to you
to mix and match
to find me;

your woman of colours.
