Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
      For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud,
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is ******, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

While the surgeon holds the scalpel
The writer holds the pen
Yet the latter might cut deeper
Into the hearts of men

A long haul flight from Amsterdam
that never made it to the end
NO! No the innocents died
when the pressure from the finger was applied
to that simple button
No, their lives never ended in the explosive flash
that caused that mighty plane to crash
They fell over 30,000 feet
they knew there was no hope
The shattered wreck their funeral pyre
dreams gone up in smoke
80 children died there in that war torn land
never to fulfill their destiny
their shattered remains spread over a foreign land

Yes... The innocents died... But for what?

She fell in love with the boy who smoked
cigarettes for a living, the boy who helped
her find her true self. He fell in love with the
girl who stole her mums beer to feel free, the
girl who wanted to feel at ease. They fell in
love with the way they made each other
feel, the way they mended each other. They
fell in love with who they became, the way
love was given, and finally gained.
