When I die – if I ever do -
Bury me in a garden, if you
Have guts;
Or in a vineyard, with a trellis,
For I will not drink from torrents
And mythic Greek rivers.

On the canvas of the Sky,
As high as can see the eye,
Two figures hung: a cowbell
And a sailing boat as well.

On the canvas of the Sky,
As far as would reach the eye,
Bell on bell, boat on boat, high
They linger for a moment,

Then they all wave good-bye,
Like a choir of echoes.

I can't claim
the sun shines only for me
nor the stars and moon
in all their splendour and beauty

But what would I
really be
if I don't have the courage
to ask: 'Would you love me?'

Much of love is sorrow-ridden
the young in time will learn this painful lesson

We are each
a word in life's lexicon
as we  struggle and suffer
our vocabulary enlarges
we begin to understand
grow stronger and learn--
we are one, all alone
but in our darkest moment
courage and hope emerges
we have no reason
to quit or walk away
bereft or despondent

pain, suffering depression
a ubiquitous  human lot
when the battle has been won
there shall appear
the light warm
and resplendent

We will,  you and I
travel together to the green waiting field
with ready tools and fulness of heart
hoping the crops we grow would in time yield

the  most bounteous harvest
our every dream and wish to fulfil
where faith will nurture our daily endeavour
and love will abide in the night so tender and still.
