hey.
the birds turn on
at 4:35am here.
i wonder if the chinese man
with the swirling eyes
turns them on
like in cannery row
as he walks down to the seaside
maybe he just flips
a switch
this isn't helping my cold. curse you, brain.

untangle your limbs
from the odd position
you wake up in
comb your fingers
through your knotted, ginger hair
streeetttchhhhh.
sit up,
look out the window
see if it's a nice enough day
to keep breathing for
hm.
maybe it is.
think about libraries
and walks to rivers
but mostly about
scrubbing off
the dried mascara
on your face
smile.
right there and then.
only because someone told you
that if you smiled enough
it would make you happy.
like magic.
try not to remember
the empty room
next door
and the stop-motion
perfume
on her vanity
realize that this is only
day one...
smile

His love drunk heart  reveals its truth,
"Whenever she comes closer,
the hum of the world becomes still,
I hear the flowers speak"

Dear Audrey
She fell into a rabbit hole,
That was pitch black and deep.
She met a girl named Alice,
When she woke up from her sleep.

I am dreaming
About trips with him
To the mountains
Which are tearing the sky
We would walk on those endless serpentines
And I would dream for the sky to cry
Because then the rocks would become slippery
And he would hold my hand.

Try to move faster than your feet can carry,
Do come along dear do not tarry, but be wary,
Push yourself harder faster, stop and I'll bury,
you.

Pace of life, balance all or balance none,
Do come along dear do not fall, no prize to be won,
Let me push you till you drop, sleep is no fun,
with out peace...

And quiet your squealing, verbal chaos marks your despair,
Do come along dear, peeling your clothes off to catch a gasp of air,
Just go to the edge and let gravity carry you, with out care,
a rush, the fall.

The worst part is landing, lonely and alone.
Do come along dear you still have me
and my black heart,
I won't catch you as you fall, get running,
cause I play chase real well,
can't you tell?
