Tonight
Kumar Abhishek Apr 2023
Maybe in an eternity all new,
This story ends with me and you,
And while we wait for it to begin,
Let this night be the one that never ends,
Cowered together and entwined,
We live away tonight.

Stay
Kumar Abhishek Oct 2022
So much to say with little to keep,
I know somewhere in my heart,
Words will fly and stray,
It is not what you want,
But I need you to stay.

Lies
Kumar Abhishek Feb 2020
Love is a story that begins
And I'm afraid it'll end
Still the memories I'll keep
And the lies that you'll send

And there you are,

We see each other,

Only to be apart.

Indifferent Love
Kumar Abhishek Aug 2017
Someday you will find me,
Cluttered in the shadows,
See me through your eyes,
Where I ain't so hollow,
Put together the broken pieces,
And make me whole again,
Will you be patient,
Or ruthless and indifferent??

Fading Footprints
Kumar Abhishek Aug 2017
The meadows that we meandered through,
Are now barren lands,
And the footprints of me and you,
Have faded away with time,

We end up wondering,
What was right or what went wrong,
All we can conjure up,
Are the ones we knew all along,

The fickle of a life,
And remnants of it,
A beautiful dream,
And harsh reality to meet,

We are a long way down,
With much more to traverse,
We evolved and  grew,
Drifted along and flew,

Like a time-piece,
Encapsulating that flowing sand,
I'll embrace the memories,
That whisper in every beat.

Undefined Beauty
Kumar Abhishek May 2017
Let this moment take its own course,
And permit the emotions to unwind.
For tonight is a beautiful night,
And its beauty is yet to be defined.

Smile
Kumar Abhishek Aug 2016
Letters and words,
So near yet so far,
Whispering to the bleeding heart,
Indifferent as you are,
Swaying past your smile,
I understood what it was ,
Days are different,
And we have drifted apart.

Madness of Nature

See the madness of nature,
Soaked in the heart of dusk,
Birch twigs of oak trees,
And a ray of hope through its tusk.

A Mother’s Heart
Kumar Abhishek Jul 2015
O dear son of mine,
I’m your mother & you’re my child,
From the day of your birth,
To the one today,
I love you more than I could ever say,

I’ve nurtured you from my blood,
And felt you grow inside,
I was your first friend,
Who could see emotions in your eyes,
And guide you through the virtue & vice,

Now you’re a young man,
An independent being,
And I’ve grown old,
Too old for you to keep,
Your apathy makes me cower & weep,

Still I love you,
For you’re an indispensable part of me,
Looking through the inanimate window,
I wish a day to come,
You’ll walk through that door & take me HOME.

The Unwavering Fire
Kumar Abhishek Jun 2015
All The Fruits & Flower,
They Grow Old Or Turn Sour,
Longing For The Last Night,
When I’ll Be Out Of Sight,

No More Desires To Accomplish,
Neither Shooting Stars To Make A Wish,
Away From All This Suffering,
Something Better Afterlife Will Bring,

I’m Just A Face In The Crowd,
Unnoticed Even When I Shout Out Loud,
Dreams Are Broken & Fragile,
Want To Escape From It For A While,

To Contemplate In A Deep Abyss,
Ready To Give Everything I Care A Miss,
Suffocating Are The Demeaning Chores,
A Complex Maze Without Exit Doors,

Eating Within & Smouldering,
Hiding Behind Every Song I Sing,
There Lies The Improbable Desire,
Igniting The Unwavering Fire,

Unresolved Are A Few Questions,
With No Logical Reasons,
Something Beyond My Acceptance,
And Out Of My Sense.

The Charlatan
Kumar Abhishek Jun 2015
Your heart can always teach you,
And be there all the way through,
In your happiest moments or darkest dream,
Am I the one to make you scream,

Drifting apart & lingering away,
Are the words you are scared to say,
Don’t loose but hold between the lips,
Feel the sentiments that can’t be felt by fingertips,

This fire was started from a little spark,
But it wasn’t enough to **** all that’s dark,
And the cruel time won’t let me,
Show what you want to see,

You were so pretty & coy,
But turned out Helena of Troy,
Stuck in my heart is the golden spear,
Your giggles & laugh are all I can hear,

Drenched in agony from head to toe,
Hurts like buried alive in snow,
Always push & shove,
Don’t you think it’s enough,

You’re a charlatan,
The only thing you ever can,
This is my plaintive,
Still unaware of your motive,

These are the pieces of my heart,
Which you crushed from the very start,
And now it has gone numb,
Yet painful enough to succumb

Innocence
Kumar Abhishek Jun 2015
It’s just a different time,
With same old fate,
Another month of the year,
But the same date,

Tried my best to move on,
Yesterday came in a disguise of tomorrow,
Behind the veil of happiness,
There hid the real sorrow,

Cowering in my own shell,
Trying to swipe away tears,
This world appears too big,
Crushing down every soul that fears,

Turning back the hands of clock,
Wanna bring the happy moments again,
I know its sunny out there,
Could you make it rain,

Traversing through valley of hope,
By the river of dreams,
Everything appears familiar,
Yet I’m lost it seems,

A little time of peace,
With tiny moments of silence,
Courtesy of this chaotic life,
Torn into shreds was my innocence

Stigma
Kumar Abhishek Jun 2015
There On The Golden Shore,
Stood A Soul Shattered,
People Called Her A *****,
A Filthy Stigma,

Smooth Weren’t Her Path But Rough,
Let Down & Rejected,
Been Through Enough,
Continued With Their Rants None Cared,

Neither Moulded Like This By Birth,
Nor Was Eager To Learn This Trade,
Pious Like Every Other Soul On Earth,
Crafted By God Handmade,

She Kept Emotions & Tears At Bay,
For Her Child’s Better Tomorrow ,
Traded Herself Everyday,
Silently Suffered All The Atrocities,

Awaiting For A Second Chance,
Freedom From Those Suffocating Shackles,
That Cursed Her Reflection After Every Glance,
Tattooed On Her Was The Scarlett Letter,

Desperate To Seek Redemption,
She Stares Every Sundown,
With Wish Of A New Sun,
Better Than Yesterday & Tomorrow.

The Ideal Man
Kumar Abhishek Jun 2015
To honour the honorary,
And counter the contrary,
To sing the merry song,
And make right of every wrong,
To praise the only winner,
And condemn the sinner,
To chase a distant dream,
And criticise the nearly perfect team,
To keep the promises I made,
And take back all the abuses I said,
To replenish the memories lost,
And pay it’s unjustifiable cost,

I evolved into this unsettling being,
Some wild animal without it’s circus ring,
I’m no longer the ideal man,
A unique devil which you never can,
This is the irony,
Which you are reluctant to see.

Casual Lies
Kumar Abhishek Jun 2015
A little hint of success,
After series of failure,
Single ray of light,
After the darkest night,
The last missing piece,
Of the unsolved puzzle,
A few moments to smile,
After quite a while,

A familiar face to see,
In a place new & unknown,
Someone else beside me,
After a long time of being empty,
Finding the true love,
After several breakups,
Peace to mind & soul,
After achieving life’s goal,

A sense of being incomplete,
Even being surrounded by great wealth,
All are the casual lies,
Hiding behind the innocent eyes.

The Cycle of Episodes
Kumar Abhishek Jun 2015
On the soaring cliff,
By the raging waves,
I stood feeling elated,
Educing memories lost in dark caves,

I saw the ocean swallowing,
A burning ball called Sun,
Disappearing in a distant horizon,
Leaving only darkness & lights none,

Smitten by the dark,
With an ardent lust,
Moon came to kiss them all,
From stones to dust,

Waves are pounding violently,
Trying to extend it’s reach,
Disfigured & broken stood the formidable rocks,
Having roots deep in the beach,

Truth is shy & elusive,
Hiding behind the clouds of doubt & lies,
Standing close to the fine line,
In midst of happiness & heartfelt cries,

Like a delusional being,
I stayed contemplating my origin,
The traditional beliefs,
And the unorthodox sin,

The cycle of episodes that goes on,
Some eventful enough,
Some destined to spurn,
An amalgamation of smooth & rough,

Right before the end we realise,
Ponder about the things we missed,
Moments we failed to cherish,
That beautiful girl we nearly kissed,

And yet we hate to be different,
Scared to explore something new,
But we must understand,
Followers are many but leaders few.

Two Different Souls
Kumar Abhishek Jun 2015
I stood there only for thee
The only soul who could ever see
See through the lying veil
The hollow heart which couldn’t feel
Inept to reiterate the reality
But an illusion of you & me
Two different souls
Sewing together their tiny gaps & holes
From things to think & words to say
Indifferent of might & may
Trying to mitigate
Spit out the poison from their fate
Lamenting & cursing
The mere thought of random fling
To live in a world of their own
Be together even after blood & bone
Sharing this dream together
Entwined into each other
Like an object to it’s shadow
Bounded together never to let it go

A Divine Deed
Kumar Abhishek May 2015
Lest there be an imperfect soul
For perfection is what we seek
Among all the hurrah & high-five
We simply drift apart
From the incoherent brooding
Receding back to old cellar
To drown into an ocean
Of desires & dreams
And shy away the days of storm
Harbouring away our boats
Raging waves & restless sea
Sending chills from head to knee
We are mere human
To dismiss the fury & be
A master like none
A divine deed
With ways unknown to mortals
But what would we be
If couldn’t find a way through
Steer away the darkness & clearly see

Fate & Serendipity
Kumar Abhishek May 2015
The shiny silhouette
Of an immaculate figure
Laying next to me
Her bare back is all I could see
Caressing the smooth skin
Could feel the goosebumps sink in
Those effervescent eyes of her
Froze the epoch in eternal animation
Her erogenous smile
Killed every bit of sanity concealed
My surreptitious virility
Cajoled to serenity
The intriguing aroma
Free strands of hair
Like a pulchritudinous portrait
Covered her face enigmatically
The bliss of air
Traversing a new path today
Kissing her neck & shoulder
Curse those lucky ones
A veil over the wise
An ingenious ingredient of disaster
**** thou dark eyes
They burnt a raging fire
Bright & blue
A sweet intoxication
A heart wrenching addiction
Conjuring up & discovering
Unexplored corners of heart
Let us play this game again
Where I’m a slave
And you’re the King insane
Unable to fathom my fate
The stupendous serendipity
Which brought together ends of infinity

The Debt
Kumar Abhishek May 2015
A vicious tide of memories,
Swept away sand castles built on hope,
And brought about new worries,
That proved too strong to ignore,

The ones tucked away,
Somewhere deep into the abyss,
Came back to say,
A haunting tale of yesterday,

Indeed it wasn’t strong,
But good enough,
Dismissing the steps taken all along,
Indefinable & indelible thoughts,

Tonight just mend your way,
Even miniscule of act,
Let it be a disparate day,
Some sort of newfangled pact,

There lies some dark days,
Indeed the ones you hate,
An abhorrent debt that everyone pays,
A tradition you can’t escape.

We Are What We Are
Kumar Abhishek May 2015
Oh thee lord of mine,
What have you made of me,
A mere puppet of time,
Dancing to it’s malevolent tune,
An unruly malignant malice,
What’s this skin I wear,
Callous & deceptive,
A heart to perceive,
And eyes to see,
But what good are they,
If they never render peace,
Angels of commotion,
Is what they are,
Enraging the void of discontent,
Rupturing and shattering,
Orchestrating a wrecking havoc,
The fractious sense of emotions,
Rises from thin air,
Instilling the obnoxious humanity,
Coercing to care,
But caring has it’s own rewards,
Packed in alluring ribbons,
Underneath the bubble wrap,
There lays the enthralling trap,
Leaving you in pain & scarred,
Forcing to scream in silence,
In that fleeting moment,
You realise it is immature,
You can only run,
And never outrun,
But we are what we are,
For a ray of hope,
Keeping doors ajar.

Wonted Steps
Kumar Abhishek May 2015
The shimmering light of street lamps,
Pierce & tear away the darkness,
The essence of this time,
Cry out my name,
Perambulating & pondering,
Striding into the obscurity of night,
I sneer past every shadow,
From hookers to homeless,
And beggars to bankers,
From a Prince to his princess,
To the famous and the destitute,
They all come and go,
Leaving behind their footprints,
Some fade away,
While some remain,
Resonating in a world so inane,
I take the elusive walk,
With a hope to leave the mark,
But my wonted steps,
Are too trite to differ,
Slowly they get diffused,
And lost in the haze.

A Daughter’s Dream
Kumar Abhishek May 2015
In arms of her father,
Surrounded by love,
She blossomed into a beauty,
A prized possession of her brother,
The one he handled with utmost care,

A childhood fantasy,
A sought after reality,
For which she waited long,
The man of her dreams,
Was finally there,

In that white dress,
She looked immaculate,
It was her day,
She’ll never forget that date,
Saying ‘I Do’,

Her glittering smile,
Poured out the joy contained,
Drops of pearl came out,
Oyster of excitement made it priceless,
And froze the epoch in animation,

In golden words were written,
The new chapter of her life,
Filled with love and hope,
She scaled the mountain of bliss,
Unbounded & unbridled were the emotions,

It started to Dawn,
A new day in new life,
She was now someone’s wife,
Drenched in love,
Every moment was ecstatic,

Days kept on passing ,
Hands of the clock,
Their merciless ticking,
Smothered her smile,
Burnt down her castle of joy,

Her saviour, her lover,
Eventually got bored of her,
Love got lost in the unfair transition,
In his own delirium & intoxication,
He was the devil she always feared,

He is drunk again,
Having one too many,
Abusing and choking,
Her neck is starting to chafe,
Thought with him she was safe,

Forcing himself on her,
She screams I ain’t a *****,
Holding by her hair,
He rebuffs with a grin,
Saying you are ‘Nothing More’,

From physical abuse,
To mental torture,
The crescendo of her grief,
Got stifled within,
Fading in muffled cries and silent tears,

She is now reluctant to sleep,
For she’s afraid of dreams,
The only one she nurtured,
Is now painful,
Too painful to live,

In a pool of blood she sat,
Tears leaving marooned trails,
Coming from puffy blackened eyes,
To end the pain she never sought,
Eventually took the easiest way out,

Gone are the dark spots,
And she’s beautiful again,
But now in all black ,
With eyes shut,
Laying in that casket,

Wiping away the grief,
Her daughter solemnly swears,
To live in the harsh truth,
Unlike her mother’s dream,
Who died silently without scream.

— The End —
