Black as night I try to move
My feet don't leave the ground
About midnight, I'm in the groove
But you are nowhere to be found

My heart is beating faster
As I stumble through my door
Trying to forget the disaster
That you chose to ignore

Those many hospital trips
That turned into a stay
But not a word from my lips
Would my feelings betray

For many moons the words "I'm quitting"
Came through as a solemn vow
My smile and hopes ear splitting
I was very proud

Years went by, and then turned out
It was fun to laugh and poke
But what came about
Was a big mistake, one cruel joke

Black as night I try to move
My feet don't leave the ground
About midnight, I'm in the groove
But you are nowhere to be found

I was all a swivet
As I awaited that special call
The one my friends called kismet
I was anticipating a fall

I thought you were like other men
All the coquetry and then dump me
But to my surprise, I fell again
This time I won't stop me

As we drove, my hair Aealian
First time ever in a fancy car
Can't help but not complain
Because I can see every star

We continued on our first date
Our second and our third
My mind began to wonder, never too late
So much so, it was absurd

I began to dismiss my emotional alarms
My friends began to aver your fealty
You continues to regale me with your charms
Our conversations, serious and heavy

Reason why you're here escapes me
My feelings began to flummox my heart
Taking away the air I breathe
Allowing passion to start

If I thought you were pernicious
I would've dropped you like a fly
But since none of my friends were suspicious
I stayed to find out more and try
You're a very shrewd businessman
But the biggest surprise, you're also a roue

In my arms is God's holy book
Teaching me a better pathway
His precocious words are the hook
In my arms is God's holy book
If I would apply them and look
Those promises, will come my way
In my arms is God's holy book
Teaching me a better pathway

I remember changing diapers
When you were about two
Remember some of the capers
You'd get yourself into

One such caper comes to mind
We'd all been down to nap
It's been one I'd like to rewind
Because to me, naps were crap

If just one of us were awake
You never would have made the climb
Resulting in a sick mistake
Losing before your prime

Whenever you became a man
Gone away was the clown
I even became your big fan
Though I am not around

You went and became a soldier
And still I'm not around
Circumstance after another
Brought me back into town

I befriended you on face book
To keep myself in touch
With my computer I can look
See how you are and such

To share about myself in turn
My plans to reconnect, soon took a dive
For today, at four o'clock I learned
You no longer are alive
I wrote this shortly after learning that he passed... And then the following day one of the poets on all poetry had a contest going... After taking a minute, I decided to enter.. His comment was that he had no idea that this particular contest would be hard to judge.... Not only that, he said that all of the poems pulled at him...

Why do we allow a hurtful emotion like
Hate into our lives because
Ignorant, disrespectful, idiotic, and hurtful
People have nothing better to do than disrupt our sense of peace
Playing at making others miserable, just to make themselves feel better
Intimidating everyone and
No one in
General just to feel like kings and queens on the street
Before we, the turn the other cheekers
Looking in our own world and
Our hearts
Completely lose our sanity
Killing our souls

Out of the darkness you came
Like a bright shining star
Innocent and pure lacking blame
Everyone knows who you are
You traveled from high above
For all the world to see
Coming from the purest of love
To set all captives free
Free from our own plight
Unbinding all our chains
Making everything right
When we hand you the reins

As I sit in the calm meadow
My lips drinking in the sun's warmth
My desire in nature's shadow
Is loving it for all it's worth

Leaving behind my vanity
I pull forth all of my passion
Escaping my humanity
Even if it's an illusion

The sun now sinks behind the hill
My heart grows heavy with sorrow
With parted lips I taste the chill
My thoughts, leading into tomorrow

My emerald blanket under me
Seeking the Goddess through my blood
Ripples in the wind so eerie
Spills my essence causing the mud

I'm suddenly stricken with lust
A never ending strong desire
But it is man I do not trust
Only nature fuels my fire

The moon tonight will captivate
My love for nature eternal
But being human is my fate
Who's to say this is abnormal
