For wind that shine
And sadist lights
Burning in the cold
Show me where the witch thoughts be
And what the story knows

For wind that shine
For wind that shine
Heart and feeling’s guiding light
Where it blows; from where it goes
Mysterious delight

And sadist lights
And sadist lights
Shimmer pain upon our eyes
Burning through the cold and dark
Smolder Muse and wise

Witch thoughts be
Witch thoughts be
Describe what taunts we note
Harboring blood-hungry thoughts
Leave where no one goes

The story knows
Our story knows
Painting hearty words
Not unaware of heartlessness
Love-wonders in one’s world
Okay... this one is kind of hard to explain. I'll start by saying that I had a dream where the first stanza of this poem was repeated continuously as I walked down and empty highway where there was shining fog leading a path. I realize this probably makes little sense to you, especially since I had to analyze it myself even after writing. 99% muse 1% dream I guess. I do have a long explanation, and I'd be happy to give it to you through message.

Mystery of Shadows
Kiri Nells Jul 2011
Running into illumination

Casts midnight upon the sacred ground

Yet running into the midnight place

Sit their vigil, the shadows cannot

“Roblet!” She screams

End the vampirarchy of reality

So that sense be made of the shadow reign

And at our desperation of sanity only

Let running into illumination

Cast no midnight on the floor

And running into that midnight place

Cause shadows to sit their vigil there
NOTE:
I have recently wondered about any metaphoric or deeper meaning behind the simple fact that shadows cannot be cast in the dark. (other than the obvious, of course)

Also, I used two words that have been dropped from the English language.
Roblet
v. to lead a stray
Vampirarchy
n. a group or leaders or leadership with qualities of a vampire

For more interesting words dropped from our language, visit savethewords.org. Let me tell you, it's great for poetic inspiration!

For what event shall lead
And what event will follow
That the mockingbird song consist
Of only its own joy and wallows?

Mirrors around the mockingbird song
Shall it disappear for its false ownership?
Mirrors around the mockingbird song
Shall it grow louder in the ears of those who trained it?

If the mirror no longer had light or we no vision
Would it become of life? Grow a soul to show?
And if the mockingbird had no ears or we no sound
Would it learn its own voice? Gain an identity other than our own?

For what event shall lead
And what event will follow
That the mockingbird song consist
Of only its own joy and wallows?

Show him his blood born to imitate
Show him his colors false to himself

Mirrors around the mockingbird song
Deathly that it see itself
Will it disappear?
If existence is to plagiarize words
And existence was of one alone
Vanish- will existence?
Or become a spirit of its own?

Awaken, Pyre
Kiri Nells Jun 2011
Awaken, pyre
From my soul
Cease your sleep
Set my spirit ablaze

Poetess inside
You’ve reaped my emotions
Stolen my Muse
Return! Return my heart!
I will not endure once more
Your years of poetic midnight!

Lost in the darkness you left for me
Encircled my false shame
While you slept
Did you have a nice nap,
O, Princess Inspiration?

How could you dare
Leave my spirit
In such dank cellars of misery
Living on phony clones of yours?
Shame, shame
For deserting all that was once ours
Together

Awaken, pyre!
Accept that I have
Woken from your poetic sleep
Only to see with eyes filled with fury
You had left me with
Only horrid simulations of yourself!

Awaken, pyre!
Dormancy of your spark,
No longer!

I was fooled-
Betrayed by your tricks
Of utter betrayal

I must hold you as my own
Once again I will embrace whatever
Design I find within you

Oh
Evil
Inspiration

Awaken!

Absolute Silence

Absolute Silence
Collecting death and dust
Unseen beauty at the back of the shelf

Forgotten years ago
Remains hidden for years to come

For this poor Absolute Silence,
Lost be its only friend

Shores of God
Kiri Nells Jun 2011
I give my pain
I lose it in praise

I smile at the sun
I dance in the waves

The joyous feeling
I’m running free
In the sea of euphoria

The gentle lapping
The rush and collapsing
Of the lovely waters
Against my skin

Sun kissed
And
Much missed
The ocean’s mist
The light shores

Shores of happiness
Shores of love
Shores of wisdom and of care
Shores of God

Love's Encryption
Kiri Nells Jun 2011
Two hearts floating
Drifting through chill air
High and anxious
Love their only care

Sweet, innocent
Young and fresh
Hearts bursting
Genuine and nothing less

Euphoria rivers
Pulse through living veins
Soaring while defenseless
To Love's reins

Magic yet mortal
Designed for this feeling
Meant to be, supposed to be
I'm at Enchantment's feet, kneeling

Light and elite
No good description
For what can decipher
Love's great encryption?

The Lost Generation
Kiri Nells Jun 2011
Sleeping hearts
And dormant souls
Beauty hibernates
Many years fold

Shattered reflections
Eras unseen
Generation: Perfection
Of them, are you keen?

Undiscovered peoples
Obscured luminescence
Shadowed by life’s steeples
Hidden is its presence

Great- their advances
Ignored- their passion
Will cause today’s trances
Lost- intelligence enough to ration

Underground spirits
Nightlife astounding
Colors like parrots
Such a city, hear the pounding

Learn to listen with your hands
And feel with your eyes
The masters of oneness can
All connected are their lives

Together, in unison
Sleeping and knowing
Waiting to show their Sun
And love that is flowing

Wisdom consuming people
Swallowed in thought
Outpouring in emotion
And flawed they are not

Crafters of the stars
And admirers of Animalis
Networking nature afar
That family of causes

Protectors of innocence
Harboring lovers
Defense for our weakness
Strength shared like brothers

Who are these creatures
Forgotten and lost?
Crazy, awe worthy features
And what is their cost?

Who sings this song
Of grace and ability?
Who could play to this music
And not feel so guilty?
Kiri Nells Jun 2011
Flakes of mica and diamonds
Scattered on the cold, grey floor
Reflecting the faces of yesteryears
And people forgotten
Rotten memories eaten at the core
Histories erased, scorched and burned
By our own fires at heart and word

Sheers for cutting crystal
And teeth for devouring silver
Bending the True Gold with its lips
And justifying pyrite and iron
For what did change
That living truths would become deceased to the worldly
That poisoned deceit come of value to the trade and less to traitors?
For who did slide his alluring hiss to
Manipulate and falsify
The common thought?

Insight from the outside
Forced but widely accepted
Did bind what smooth tongued statements
Then blinded to what has been bound
Add that desire has been labeled “the sacred emotion”

Love has been fired down
And showered by water like William Blake’s
To grow a new love
Secret identity: Lust
But for its shaded reality must mean
A hero
A tolerant, but unloving hero
Or *heroine

— The End —
