Ticking
Superfluous sounds
Be silent
foul clock
I will conquer you
Spring, the sweet Spring, is the year’s pleasant king;
Then blooms each thing, then maids dance in a ring,
Cold doth not sting, the pretty birds do sing—
  Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo!

The palm and may make country houses gay,
Lambs frisk and play, the shepherds pipe all day,
And we hear aye birds tune this merry lay—
  Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo!

The fields breathe sweet, the daisies kiss our feet,
Young lovers meet, old wives a-sunning sit,
In every street these tunes our ears do greet—
  Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo!
    Spring, the sweet Spring!

i could say a lot of words
but they'd never mean as much as your three do to me
a lot of syllables strung together
with pretty punctuation
like the golden flecks embedded in your eyes
and rhythmic lilts and twirls
like the way we sway together to no music
i could list the reasons
why i stay up too late to talk to you
why i think in terms of 'we' not 'me'
why i would give up a million words for your three
or why i find myself smiling at the mere stupidity i succumbed to
but you know the answer
you know why without need for any words
you know why without need for those three
Drinking whiskey neat
ends up with sloppy drunk
sloppy moments
splashed out across our history
like paint brush splatters
everybody is high
because they are so low
and the room starts spinning
and spinning                     and spinning
  and spinning        and spinning
         and spinning
until
everythingblursintoeverything
and the night doesn't end with a bang
or a whimper
but with a jump cut
to a hung over next morning
like life is a movie
had some fun with this one

I heard a siren's call just once
How enchanted it did keep me
I followed the song and there she was
Waiting.... waiting for me.

With passion filled eyes
I ran towards the lies
That twisted my heart inside
She called out my name
Like it were a game
Keeping my mind trapped in time.

I heard a siren's call just once
Because the spell was broken, you see
A web of lies and enchanting cries
Not never enough to keep me

She'll wait for you
Like she waited for me
Laying in the dark
You cannot cry
Or you will die
Thanks to the siren's call.

Show me the sunshine and I’ll show you the heat.

We can teach each other many things.
Like how to dance on the moon.
Or when to pick the perfect apple.

The night calls out more names than I’m used to.
But you show me how to listen carefully.

And you hold my hand through it all.

Your eyes are closed, but I’ll guide you.

We’ll set the sails and carry on.
Open mind, open sea.

Where time and space don't matter.
Only our lungs can move us there.

Light the match and watch it burn.
Show me what you know…

And I’ll lead you to it’s finally resting place.
A proper funeral for a necessity.

Nails and screws.
Built on nothing more than hope and faith.

I’ll save you from the nightmares at dawn.
So hold on.

Sand and sea.
Salt and air.

Though the air tastes of sweetness.
i flirt with danger
and beckon disease,
cant find the we,
we used to be
and yet,
you find your bed warm with me,
and its not for sale
commercial patterns of desire
and equalaterial airs.*

and if i was just a ghost to you,
why you still walking around wounded?
did you forget what love does to the weak?
i was at a brandi carlile concert and thus wrote this stream of thoughts.
