Forever Dark
kari anderson May 2013
Silence is my biggest enemy.
Can't you hear my cry?
So many times I have lost my words
Only to find them on a tip of a knife.
Never leave me alone.
I long for death.
Something is confronting
About the forever dark.
My metal friend
Calls me to end it all.
My friends trapped in bottles
Promise me a way out.
Just a little deeper
Just one more pill
They all screaming at once.
My head is foggy
My hands are ******
How much more can I take?
Never leave me alone
I long for death.

The Forgotten Love
kari anderson Apr 2013
The Sun kisses the Day goodbye
With a fiery passion,
Exploding the sky with a burst of color;
Giving the last of her love to the Day
As she disappears over the horizon.
The Moon slowly rises
Bringing along the darkness of the night;
He catches the last of the Sun''s beauty
And keeps it in his pocket.
He turns the stolen light into stars
So he can see his lost love forever.
He shines through the unforgiving darkness
Giving hope to those who are lost and broken.
As the Sun wakes up the Day with another fiery kiss
The Moon slips away catching a glimpse of his forgotten love,
"I love you" he whispers as he disappears over the horizon.

What kind of ****** up world do we live in?
Taught to love our neighbors
But not if their gay.
Taught to believe the bible
Expect the parts that apply to you.
Taught to treat everyone as equals Just not if they are black.
Taught to respect others opinions
Just not if they are different from yours.
Taught to be the change in the world
Only if everyone else is doing it.

We as a society are heartless.
Who cares what war we are fighting on the inside,
Just look good on the outside.
Who cares what happens at home,
Just cover the bruises.
Who cares about the starving families,
Just care about yourself.
Who cares about the sick it's injured,
Just as long as you are alright.

We raise our kids to believe in themselves.
To be anything they dream of.
To love who their hearts love.
To never anything hold them back.
But then we leave them if they aren't "normal."
We disown our own children
If they love the same gender or a different color skin.
We turn the other way if our kids
Don't follow the path we laid out for them.

Can't we see that our society is failing?
It's all about who has the most money.
Or who has the biggest house.
When are we going to see
That one day we will be judged
Not for our houses or money,
But by our hearts.
What will your heart say about you?
Blah I don't know

Her Love
kari anderson Apr 2013
Her love holds me tight
To this heavenly reality.
Never thought I''d fall like this
Only to be caught by an angel.
Her kisses take me away
To our own cloud nine.
Higher than the rumors and prejudice
A place where we could be ourselves.
Her blue eyes capivate me
Showing me her true feelings.
Hints of devil flash in those angel eye
Sending shivers down my spine.
Her touch sends shocks through me
The world begins to fade.
One touch and all the pain ends
Taking us to our little paridise.
Her love holds me tight
To this heavenly reality.
Refusing to let me go
I just sink deeper and deeper in her love.

Thief
kari anderson Apr 2013
He stole every piece of me
And now I am his.
Living in this fear and anger
Of the man who stole my innocence.
He throws around pieces of me
As if I'm his to give away.

He tells others how I cried
When i begged him to let me go.
He laughed at the way I squirmed
To get away from his reach.

I'm forced to relive
Every second of that night.
Scenes flash through my head
Like a picture show.

The hard kiss.
His hand up my dress.
The smirk on his face.
His forearm on my neck.
Him inside me.
The look in his eyes.

Everything comes back
When I see his face.
I lose my breath
A cold sweat drenches me.
Numbness covers my body.

I can't breathe.
I'm drowning in my own insecurities.
But I need to be strong.
I have to go on.
I can't let the Thief have the rest of me.
