I often wonder
what it would be like to dream
then have reality follow mine.

In time
I have questioned why
and now no longer feel
as empty inside.

I've wondered
I have seen
and some dreams
were just not meant to be.

Too much dreaming
not enough taste
find yourself a better place.
Joel Johnson May 2016
I only say what I say
to say again
what I mean
but in the end
toward the end of time
they promised all shall be mine
so at that time
and then again
we shall be together
but not as friends

Dare I wonder
and bother to dream
of tainted nights
clouded with steam
from a shower before
heated with
passion all it's own

When again shall it be
that we may be free
to see that it was meant
to be
what seeks to see
what it all means

When will it end
so I can say again
that in time
all things are well
and seek to see
all that entails
having it begin again

Should I wonder
should I believe
should I ponder
should I be set free
this dream becomes me
and I fight to see again

So blinded
as I am blind
but not to things behind

I have always sought to be
more of what was meant for me
and when I see
that it's all free
I know it's for me to be
as I have been
and always wanted to be

But at the end
there's ne'er a shout
for nay,
the twain shall meet
and seek
in a world of it's own
certain wonder

Stillness
like the cold of a winter's night
setting fire to certain desire
and one desires
only to dance like pirates bountiful
majestic
free to be
as they please

A beginning
a middle
an end
then again.

Formulaic throughout
to the bitter end.

Try something new
don't let it end
with you repeating
the same old thing again.

Structured perfectly
a copy cat's excuse
studying rhymes
he could never write
even if given
'til the end of time.

It's not because it's telling
it's just telling of you
thinking in another man's cursive
hiding that you have none
and would never know what to do.

Where's the message
your meaning is lacking
just alliterated sonnets
hiding an absence of depth
in you.

In the all I've said
dare I
wonder
wandering toward nothingness
again

Still time
this time
in time
due time
course offered
wonderers follow

Tell it proudly
still I designed
set it apart
my part
in mind
Joel Johnson Feb 2016
Solemnly swear
never departed
wear it
all hearts lay
wasting

Days pass
summers set
sun tests hearing

Let it not be said
dealt within
the bittered end
Joel Johnson Feb 2016
Once the night's fire blazes
all that ends
stillness heats within
and then
so much more that's said
and meant it still

Creators
fighting
tiring new life
creations
bountiful still

Searching
pinnacles
far achieving
save these words
for tears
as memories
all fleeting
Joel Johnson Feb 2016
In a certain state of mind
I'm thinking
it was due time
to
of my own mind
write words to define
all I have in mind
