The teacher told me a dozen times
Not to lean my chair back against the wall,
Because one of these days, I’ll lean back too far
And take a great fall.

But I never listened to her, and
Continued to lean back against the wall.
Then one day it happened…But Only Because
She kicked back legs of the chair, and I slammed
                     My head against the wall.

Well I was unconscious for about an hour,
She went to the First Aid room and returned
With a wet cloth and smelling salts
And when I recovered, she said, “Now I hope you                       learned.”

Yeah, I learned alright! And she learned too!
That Big Bubba doesn’t get mad, he get’s even.
I stopped leaning my chair back against the wall,
But, Ha Ha Ha! I put a tack in her chair, and you should have heard her squall!

This poem is UNTRUE. I did lean my chair against the wall behind me,
and one of my best enemies, kicked the back legs and down I went. He thought it was pretty funny until his nose started bleeding...

Let me tell you what I think of Jesus,
How much He means to me.
For to me to live is Christ,
Because He cancelled my sins debt.
When He died on the Cross of Calvary.

In as much as He gave His all for us
Even unto painful shameful death,
Presenting ourselves as a living sacrifice,
Surely we should do nothing less.

Romans twelve, verses one and two,
Is the best appreciation we can express,
To the Lord Jesus for His sacrificial
Substitutional propositional death.

So, who will dedicate yourself in a
Once and forever living sacrifice
Which is truly a reasonable service
In view of God's mercies through Christ.

Oh me and my Sunshine
Traveling down the road of life together
Oh yes, me and my Sunshine are
going down the road of life together

Oh how we love each other,
and forever we'll be together;

Of our love for each other,
Nothing can ever sever,

As we travel down the road
of life together, forever.

And when we depart this life,
leaving this sod forever,

In Eternity we'll still be together,
worshiping and praising

the Lord forever
Me and my Sunshine

CONTENDING FOR THE FAITH
  Certain men, described by Jude,
  As ungodly filthy dreamers,
  Condemned unto judgment,
  Evil speakers and flesh defilers

Have subtly and secretly made themselves
A part of the Christian faith,
  Purposely undermining salvation
with ungodly speeches against God’s Grace.

Who are these insolent filthy dreamers
Who speak evil against Dignities with
                              disdain?
“Woe unto them” says the Apostle Jude,
“Woe unto Balaam, Core and Cain.”

Representative are these three of
The self-righteous for salvation,
The self-seeking for prestige and power,
The worshipper of wealth and mammon.

These are spots, ugly, despicable spots
In your love feast celebrations.
With all boldness and fearlessness,
They join you without invitation.

These are the murmurers, the complainers,
The mockers, of the soon  return of Christ,
As prophesied by Jesus and the Apostles,
that in the last days they would arise.

In view of such apostates as these,
Be praying in the Holy Ghost, Beloved,
And building yourselves up in the Spirit,
Be living daily in the sphere of God’s love.

Having compassion on the innocent deceived,
The sincere soul drawn into a damning lair;
And others, addicted to chains of sin,
With great caution, ****** from the fire.

This, then, is the message of God,
With compassion, caution and love,
Be ready always to contend for the faith,
For the glory and majesty of God above.

DOUBT NOT GOD'S FAITHFULNESS
FAITHFUL TO THE LORD
The Bible tells of a man called Job,
Whose life was filled with great discord.
He lost all his family and fortune,
But through it all was faithful to the Lord.
            chorus
Faithful to the Lord, Faithful to the Lord,
My Brother and Sister, be faithful to the Lord!
Yes faithful to the Lord, faithful to the Lord,
Be like Job, be faithful to the Lord.

Have your friends all turned their backs upon you,
And left you walking all alone?
Just remember, God is always faithful,
and will love and keep you as his own.

To Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,
God's promise of faithfulness was given,
To Joshua, the Judges of Israel,
And to a man called Gideon.

Yes my friends, doubt not  God's faithfulness,
Read the long list of men and women
to whom God was faithful to supply of their needs.
Found in the book of Hebrews, chapter eleven.

God Ordained Moses to Lead Israel Out of Egypt

Moses was out for a leisure walk and saw a fire
and upon taking a closer look at what was burning,
he was greatly surprised to discover a bush was on
fire, but was not being consumed. As he stood wondering at it, a voice boomed out of it, saying, "TAKE OFF YOUR SHOES! YOU ARE STANDING ON SACRED GROUND!"
As Moses was taking off his shoes, the voice continued speaking:" I am the God of your father,
of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I have been listening to
the prayers of my people in Egypt, and see the affliction upon them from their taskmasters, and am moved by their sorrows. I am going to rescue them
from the slavery of the Egyptians and lead them to a land of milk and honey.
Moses, I have chosen you to go talk to the Pharoah of Egypt and lead my people, the children of Israel out of Egypt"

And Moses said, "I am greatly honored that you think enough of me for such a worthy responsibility,
but I am not your man for such a task. For one thing
I am not a good talker, and besides that I am slow of speech."

God replied to Moses
"Moses" said God "Throw down your rod on the ground." And Moses did as God told him, and his
rod became a snake. "Now pick it up by it's tail" And when Moes did so, the snake returned into Moses rod.
Then God spoke again to Moses saying, " Now put your hand under your shirt."  And when he pulled his hand out, it was white with leprously. "Now return your hand, which Moss did and when Moses drew his hand back out, it was as healthy as his other hand.
"Now Moses, if my people will not follow you by
these signs, dip some water from the river and pour some on the ground and it shall turn into blood."

But Moses still was not convinced he was the man for the task God was calling him to do.

He began making excuses why he was not God's man for the task.
"I am not eloquent"
"I am not a speaker"
"I studder when I talk"
"Th e leaders of Israel will not believe me"

God had an answer for every excuse Moses came up with.
He recruited Aron, Moses's brother, to convey to Moses His
words to tell Israel and Pharaoh.

Within my Mother’s womb I grow,
Not knowing what life will bestow
A genetic code all my own,
God used to make me flesh and bone.

A little man I am I know,
Yet give me time and I will grow,
Just think of what the world would be,
Without a joyful world like me.

I need love and protection too,
And my protector needs to be you.
If you turn a deaf ear to me,
What I most fear may come to be.

Why does not someone take a stand?
And save me from my killers hand.
I’m murdered by the surgeon’s knife,
As though I have no right to life.

My body is torn limb from limb,
Yielding to Mother’s whim.
My screams are muffled as I die,
Dr. and Mommy ignore my painful cry.

Aborted (no, murdered) by my Mother’s plan,
I’m cast into a garbage can.
“AVENGE MY BLOOD, OH GOD” I pray!
Repay my foes on judgment day.

And God will.  The voice of “Babies” blood
cries unto me from the ground” Gen.4:10

I was walking along the road one day,
carrying a sack on my shoulder.
I met a  man whom to me was stranger,
He ask me what was in  my sack,
and I said to him, "NONE OF YOUR BIZWAX!"

As I contine on my journey, I sat down to rest.
The sack had gotten heavy on my shoulder.
A nosey lady  whom to me was stranger
Ask to see what was in my sack,
and I said, "IT'S NONE OF YOUR BIZWAX!"

I ask volunteers to name the title to my song,
Some one said, "A MAN WITH A SACK?"
Another one suggested, "A NOSEY STRANGER?"
A little ***** said"THAT'S EASY! NONE OF YOUR BIZWAX!
THE STORY BEHIND THIS POEM
I was in a rest home, and ask a lady patience, who had a slight mental
disability, why she was so sad looking, and she said : "NONE OF YOUR BIZWAX! "  I ask her another question (which I do not recall) and again she an answered me with "N ONE OF YOUR BIZWAX!"

So on the spur of the moment, I made up this song-poem.

A man decided to go to church one day,
He was down hearted and  so went to pray.

He came to the front door ad was welcomed in,
There quietly seated were many children, women and men,

The teacher in Sunday School made him feel glad,
For he heard more about Jesus than he ever had.

The Preacher then followed preaching God’s Word,
The message was different than any he had ever heard,

He made very plain  God’s simple salvation plan,
How that His only Begotten Son died to save every man.

He urged all to accept Jesus from sin  He will set you free,
I knew I was a sinner, the Holy Spirit was convicting me,

The Preacher called out, “Beloved, what shape are you in?
Without repenting faith there is no forgiveness of sin! “

The invitation was offered, but I waited for awhile,
But I couldn’t resist God  calling me to walk down the aisle.

At the old -fashioned altar on my knees I repented of sin,
Now Jesus is my personal Savior, praise God I’m born again.

Then there came a day when testimonies were being given So this is his testimony of that day he received Salvation.

Well Folks, one Sunday morning I repented
                                Of my self-righteousness.
I knelt down at the altar,
                                 And Jesus Christ confessed.
Then one day I was baptized,
As a public confession of faith,
In Jesus Christ as my  Savior,
                                   And God’s wonderful Grace.
Now every day I try harder,
                                    then did the day before,
To live my life more pleasing,
                                    And glorify the Lord.
Every day I’m reading my Bible,
                                    And spending time in prayer,
And to my friends & neighbors
                                     I the Gospel share.

I never miss a church service
                                     On Sundays or mid-week too,
Oh how I love Jesus,
                                      My Friends, how about you.

Praise God I 'm saved, Praise God I'm saved
I'm born again a child of God
Praise God I'm saved
How about it my poet friend, can you sing this song?
Praise Gods I'm saved?

GRAMPA THE SOFT BALL PLAYER
                ………by Jerry Howarth
                             5/26/16
Grampa is a legend in the softball world
He was voted into the Softball Hall of Fame
When ever  Grampa was scheduled to pitch
It  broke the attendance record every game.

Grampa was a  fast ball pitcher
For the Perry Baptist church team.
He was having fun, just messing around,
But with every game Grampa picked up steam.

He began to experiment releasing the ball,
making it curve left & right, drop and rise,
He even learned to make a  slow pitch,
Making it difficult for the batter’s eyes

Grampa had a favorite trick he loved to play  The crowd thought it was super great!
The ball started out fast then changed slow
“How slow did it get Grampa?”  “So slow
the batter swung three times before it crossed the plate.

Well Grampa’s pitching became so well known
The  major leagues began competing with                   many others,
Offering Grampa  Millions of dollars.

Grampa developed a fast ball so fast that…
“How fast was it, Grampa Parson?”
It was so fast it was beyond measur’n.

Now Grampa had what he called his
Roller coaster pitch that no one could ever hit
It was such a crazy pitch, he had it patented
So no one else could copy and use it

Grampa was now playing  on a professional team, making over a million bucks a year,
His agent made a deal for $20,000 a game
Every time he pitched a no hitter

Every game he played was a no hitter,
Thanks to his patented pitch
At $20,000.00 a game
Grampa was getting really, really rich!

But back to Grama’s special  pitch,
It was greatly irritating to every batter
They were determined to knock that ball
Right down Gramp’s kooka-defrater

Hear the crowd yelling, whistling, and clapping
Coming up to bat is the world home run king!
Here it comes, that, fast, slow pitch
The home run king gives three mighty swings.

Three strikes an yer out, the rules of the game
It’s the first time in the history of soft ball fast pitch, that a batter strikes out  on
just one pitch

This poem cannot end without a mention
About Grampa batting power
That’s right, Grampa hit a ball so hard,
It sailed about a thousand miles or so
It broke out a window in the Trump Tower.
YEAH It did! And broke Donald’s  favorite champagne drinking glass.

Well this is enough humble bragging about
When Grampa G. E. Parson was a Grandson
And I hope the reading of this poem
Was a lot of fun !

Independence Day > May God Bless America
Dear Friends;
In Philadelphia on July 4, 1775, representatives from 13 British colonies in North America adopted a statement setting forth the reasons for declaring their independence from Great Britain. The draft of the document was largely the work of Thomas Jefferson. The Declaration of Independence proclaims the God gives every person a birthright of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiiness. The original document is stored in the National Archives Building in Washington, D.C.

I love to preach the Gospel of Jesus of Jesus Christ.
Pastored in five different churches over a period of 40 years.
These were small country churches averaging 10/20 adults
So I had to work at employment while Pastloring

But one day my health interupted my ministry
so I was forced to resign Pastoring, but not preaching
I  was yet able to preach from time to time, here and there
filling in for Pastors on vacation, sick and short interims.

Ond day someone suggested  go on Face Book Live,
Which I have been doing for about a couple of months.
So all you my poet friends, I invite you to go to Face Book
and type my name, Jerry, and hear me preach.
                          THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

The nineteenth day of February
Was set aside to celebrate
The birthdays of two famous Presidents
Who were especially great.

These  two spiritually minded men
Together through special Divine wisdom,
Fearing God and revering His Word,
Established and sustained our great nation.

One established the founding of America,
One sustained America in the mist of unrest.
President Washington was America's founding Father,
For these two great men of God
With great wisdom, was Divinely blessed.

"It is impossible" he once declared,
"Without God and the Bible to rightly govern the world."
And on the theme of that statement,
The  greatest nation in all of history, unfurled.

President Abe Lincoln America's trouble shooter,
Divinely blessed with "Mosaic" wisdom
Sustained America during the  civil war and slavery.
Was the first President victim of assassination,

For all the founding Father 's of America,
Let us not fail to give sincere thanks
For their suffering and sacrifice to Jehovah.
