The darkness was all the light there was
Piercing the air with her silence, she comes
Slowly, carefully taking every step
She's here, just in time, as I slept

Or am I?
My eyes are shut as she lingers beside
The coldness of her emptiness kept burning inside
I wept, but my tears were already dry

I remind myself to breathe
That there's really nothing underneath
My body is frozen and paralyzed
The only escape I have is the sunrise
Hope, are you sleeping?
Awake in the arms of the dreaming
Weeping in the cold night breeze
Before the heart starts to freeze

Peace, have you gone somewhere?
You left a soul wandering
Alone in a pathless field
A shell, a hole, a bubble

Love, please stay
Even if that’s all I can say
You are all I have yet it seems as though
You too have walked away

Joy, don’t be blind to me
See past the emptiness of the inside
Look beyond what the darkness hide
It’s pain, sadness, grief
But I wish you don’t mind
