Did you feel me outside
treading soft to your door
I was trying to knock
as I used to before
but my hands made no noise
and my calls were not heard
for the harder I shout
the more lost are my words

Stood under the stars
in the wind and the wet
I will fade with the day
for the light brings regret
Tonight I'll return
and I'll try once again
but why can't you hear me
outside in the rain

Eleanor in The Water

Clear as crystal in my sight
I see you once again
drifting by as day meets night
bringing back the pain

You couldn't swim forever
no matter how you tried
but you had no care for tethers
and that was how you died

The stars were out that evening
we saw Venus I saw you
and as you slipped under the surface
there was nothing I could do

So now you swim before me
**** and starlight in your hair
I will tie these rocks around my feet
then the river we shall share

Perhaps it's just a mood swing
or that sort of weird thing
part of me says no don't stop
part says do your going to pop
put some back-bone in me please
as my future starts to freeze
want to keep on writing well
mixed up and lost who do I tell
all my excitement I told my friend
has gone feels like it is an end
perhaps I'll wake up bright and smiling
or down and all my work defiling
maybe just leave these sites alone
till I lose this self-pitying tone...

Think I'll retire for  a wee while
my poems are crap and my writing vile
cannot type a word spelt right
all my words are put to flight
stuck deep in a ****** rut
need a boot up my sad ****
got to stop just had enough
stopping while life feels so tough
gonna wipe out half my writes
throw loads away the next few nights
clear all the crap I put on here
so much selfish crud I fear
reading back I think oh no
I wrote it for my own ego

Robert of Callander

Robert of Callander
the time it has come
for you to take flight
but where will you run..
~*~
"Come south" breathes the southern breeze
soft whispers in the trembling trees
"whatever are your deeds and crimes
take refuge in my warmer climes"

The east wind countered with a gust
"my way will save you come you must
bear my cold and feel my blast
and I will hide you till the last"

The west wind from the ocean blew
"come out to me my word is true
and out amongst the rocky isles
I'll hide your guilt and life so vile.."

The Northern Wind did ponder long
then gave it's thoughtful blast of song
"Journey to my mountains dread
your crimes has left so many dead"

"my welcome here of stone and cold
lost soul in my srong hand I'll hold
the time for you to pay is nigh
head north into my hills so high"

And north Black Robert chose to go
with tense remorse and full of woe
up into heather wind and rain
never was he seen again

But on the ***** of steep Ben Loyal
you'll find a hidden rocky mound
to reach it takes some sweat and toil
and there Black Robert may be found

Iceberg Man

Most of my iceberg is under the sea
that's how it always has been for me
if you were to fall in the ocean and dive
one look you would say "Man alive..."
"What a load of mucky ice,
we thought the boy was sweet and nice.
But now we feel it fair to say
we think he ought to melt away.."

Shepherd's Song

A flower in winter
the sun in the grey
you light up the glen
when you're coming this way
at the back of the flock
with a staff in your hand
I've never seen anything
nearly as grand

And you with a lamb
tucked under your arm
could any man say
he has seen greater charm
I speak from my heart
lass I truly confess
with your every stride
My life you do bless
