Holiness

Holiness is what
I long for
Holiness
Is what my heart
Cries out for
In the night
My heart
My soul
Wants to be
Whole
Completely
Connected
But the world
Has a way
Of dragging
Me back
Dragging me down
Down to the world
To the muck
And the mire
But even among
The troubles
And the trials
There is still beauty
Even in the storms
Life is holy
Every life
Carries that holy flame
That fire that flows
Every thing is holy
Every thing comes
From God
Every thing
That makes us
Every thing
Thats inside of us
Comes from God
All life is holy
In some way
Every thing breathes
The secret of God
In every second
In every action
God is there
Sharing his love
And holiness
To every one
And every thing
That recognizes him
And accepts the healing
Love
Mercy
Holiness
That comes
From accepting
The holiness
Inside yourself
And every one

I am not what you need
But I so badly wish I could be
Oh, how I wish

I could make you smile with no falter
Laugh without a hint of a catch
Maybe even one day meet you at the alter?
But I am not your perfect match

If I could, I would
Make the rain fall from every cloud just so you could get a good nights sleep
Spread my jacket over the puddle so you wouldn't have to make that wet leap
Read you books under the stars in a polyester heaven of your own
But for now I am in a  prison that keeps us so tangent, known as a 'phone'

But I, who am I?
For I am not myself
Every breath that falls from these lips are of a strangers mouth
Every thought surging from a strangers brain
The words I need to say, lost in a sea of the brain that doesn't belong to me, I cannot speak
My heart creaks
It splinters
It stops

And then it breaks

Is your heart full of ache?
If so, it is my fault
I am not the one to fix you
I cannot find ways to fix myself
How am I supposed to fix somebody else?
So instead I just bend, bruise, and break
Every little thing that I touch
Every inch of you

I am sorry,
for I cannot help myself

Darling,
this is what movies are made of
what books are written about end after end
I am sitting here adding to the list of poems written about it
The thing that comes in a bittersweet package wrapped and sealed with a bow
You know,

Love

Do not stand at my grave and weep..
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star-shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry..
I am not there. I did not die.

In need of a Friend
I sat outside today,
at the top of the hill in the back
With nobody around I sat there,
and I breathed,
so clear and easy
I felt no restraint,
nothing could go wrong.
The sun was high above me,
the air wasn't thick or heavy,
it was soothing.

I lived today, and finally....
I realized what is really worth fighting for.
tomorrow.

into a deep slumber, I forced
myself to stay conscious. For
what I had witnessed today
was awfully frightening!

While walking along the
pavement, I noticed something
quite not right.

The youngsters bolted around in
an unnatural, inhuman fashion.
The males resembled golems.

As I play out each finding, time
and time again, the sole conclusion
I can spot:
They're chemical children and
mechanical men!

Antidote
 Sep 2012 Jay

We live in a world
Full of diseases
Full of pain
We live in a world
Where it seems
Like hate rules
Where antipathy
Rage
Violence
Wins the day
It seems like
The cure
Is hard to find
It can feel like
The world is doomed
But the cure
The antidote
Is a lot easier found
Its right in front of our eyes
We just have to be willing to see it
The antidote is love
Once you understand that
Everything else
Starts to fall into place

There is a war of the heart
There is a war of the mind
Be ready my friends
The war is already here
You have to be strong
To make it in this world
We are constantly assaulted
Bombarded by the war
That goes on day by day
We must shield our hearts
So that we can still love
We must shield our minds
So they don't get taken over
By negative thoughts
And negative deeds
Acting out hatred toward others
Falling into the rat race
Getting stuck in the grind
We must protect ourselves
At all cost
If we don't
We will get lost
Lost in a world
That teaches us we are separate
We are not whole
We have to play the game
To keep ourselves alive
That tells us we have
to give up ourselves
To ultimately win
