You help nourish my big ego
You tell me what I want to hear
You hide articles of my clothing
So that I won’t disappear
You’re mischievous and cunning
Two attractive traits
But there’s no cause for stealing
When a loving heart awaits
It’s not something you can touch
Or something you can feel
It’s the combination
That gives it its appeal
A culmination of both good and bad
Somewhere in between
It hovers over everything
Like a lucid dream
His mother sang to him a lullaby
When she put him down for bed
Her voice was soft and mellow
As he rest his weary head
His eyes were closed as he faded off
And her voice grew softer still
Until it turned into a whisper
With her goal, in turn, fulfilled
A perfect luscious fruit
Under summers yellow light
Sap bouncing off the window
With each passing juicy bite

Morning views and sweet perfume
Dust, wafting trough the lay
Settled on the bare hard wood
That stems from underneath the paint
Lying in wait, in the weeds
With the feathery thistle seed
In folklore and mythology
There came a great stampede
That wiped out all in its path
The grass, the land, and trees
Till all that’s left is the need
To start again or leave things be
‪Walking amongst the trees‬
‪Made golden by the sun‬
‪Grass reflecting sunlight ‬
‪A little’s more than none‬
‪The sunshine playing hide and seek‬
‪In between the leaves ‬
‪When people think serenity‬
‪This is what they mean‬
‪Tranquil, yet mysterious ‬
‪Eerie, non mundane ‬
‪Whispers from the treetops ‬
‪Calling out your name‬
In the distance, there’s heard chiming
Day soon turns to night
And the parting of another day
Does not leave out of spite
I hope you find the magic key
That unlocks this heart of mine
I’m unsure of its location
But it’s been missing for some time
A discovery of discoveries
In a world you’ll find sublime
An invitation into a special place
Locked away; hidden by design
Between the blades of grass
On a sun-rich day
Where flowers are done blooming
And the hare hop free in spades
There is an open meadow
Where memories are made
And magic tends to happen
In early June, late May
There’s thoughts of you throughout my day
Subtle reminders now and then
It makes me smile and for a while
My heart seems on the mend
I’ve been hurt; like we all have
The pain seldom ever leaves
When memories rear their head
From promises believed
Your situation in modern day;
There’s just no way I can contend
From a once devoted love of loves
To a now distant friend
Our window of opportunity
Shut so very long ago
And now under lock and key
Given everything we know
I’ll cherish those days of past
Our connection and our bond
And I’ll reminisce of our days spent
When I waved my magic wand
Shall we climb up to the mountains peak
Shall we jump out of a plane
Shall we walk along the railroad tracks
Waiting for a train

Shall we stir among the meadows
Shall we shiver in the breeze
Shall we stare into the bluest sky
Lying under trees

Shall we comb across the desert
Shall we sail the open seas
Or shall we sit at home in silence
To put my mind at ease

I am not a puppet
A puppet on a string
I can make those choices
And do anything
Making Waves

You’re too young to understand
There aren’t enough supplies to equal the demand
The growing population has gotten out of hand
The earth isn’t big enough, we need to expand

The world is a conglomerate
Companies own the land
They draw our attention
They’re the ones in command
If you don’t fall in line,
They’ll tell Uncle Sam

They’ve got us by the *****
I just hope to withstand
The strong violent nature
That I’ve seen firsthand

Go and buy their solutions
They’ve got all the name brands
This is how they drew it up
It’s all gone as planned

Keep the rich rich
Don’t let the poor take a stand
Keep them repressed, confused, and bland

Every single day, I pray and I pray
Wishing there was something I could do or say
That might make a difference
Where there’s a will there’s a way

It’s time we set in motion
There’s little time to explain
Let’s take a page from the ocean
And go make some waves.
Along the open meadows
Near the trees lined in a row
Horses run and frolic
Like they did so long ago
They’re left alone, and free to roam
On acres of green grass
It’s sure to be, a sight to see
Anytime you pass
They’re big and bold
With manes of gold
They’re muscular and fast
They’re majestic and they’re statuesque
They’re elegant, with class
I’ve been searching for some time
To find a way to ease my mind
Along the way on down the line
I hope to find it in my prime

I focused in on my abilities
To create something that this world needs
I put it out there to be received
Then revealed my true identity

I’m a man with thoughts
With big ideas
I think so loud
That no one hears

The information
The creation in my head
Manifests itself
But it’s form I can’t defend

From vision quests
To shaman’s spells
What’s done is done
So I’m compelled

My greatest hope
My uncertainty
To be knocked back
Into obscurity

To fail and fail and fail and fail
Before catching wind and setting sail
The heart is in the journey
What’s in our eyes
Can’t be denied
It’s our guiding light
To focus in
When times grow dim
Can leave us hypnotized
So carry on with this in mind
And you’ll surely see
The trajectory of all mankind
Is mankind’s capacity
Man On The Moon

You know that life can be cruel, Life can be hard
I made up this tune, with this here guitar.
I'd sing it out loud
If I thought it would help
But it'll probably end up
Stored away on some shelf
Why do dreams only happen
While we're lying in bed
There's no happily ever afters
When we all end up dead
In the end.
In the end.

Our journey through life,
Has it's highs and it's lows
Just to come to the conclusion
That everyone of us knows
Why do we even bother
What good will it do
Will we ever arrive
And are you coming too
Was this all meant to be
Straight from the start
If so, I'd still let you in
To my bleeding red heart
The writing is there
There, up on the wall
So we'd better move fast
It's a short life after all.
A short life after all.
A short life after all.

We go through life always fighting
Surviving at best
Only to rot in a casket
After we're laid to rest
Come take my hand,
What have you got to lose
Throw caution to the wind
There's nothing more left to prove
I know I sound morbid
But I just can't comprehend
Why life's destination
Is that we all end up dead.
In the end.
In the end.

The bees have their honey
The flowers, they bloom
So why should we have to leave
And always so soon
Could it possibly be
Life's just one big cocoon
I'd sure like to believe that
And I'll bet you would too
So sun keep on rising
And growing hottest at noon
And I'll keep on pretending
There's a man on the moon.
A man on the moon.
A man on the moon.

Be kind to one another
Your mother, your brother
Your neighbors and others
Try and see the big picture
We are the cogs in the wheel
In the race to the finish
Everyone's healed
No more starvation
No more sick, no more ill
No more voids that need filling
No more bitter pills
We know not what awaits us
Only what we're leaving behind
I'm sure in the end
It'll all work out fine.
It'll all work out fine.
An idea grows
Where it stops
Nobody knows
She wore a mask of pride
But it was just a poor disguise
For she was cowardly and frightened
Hidden behind lies
On the mask, a painted smile
A twinkle in the eyes
But everything’s misleading
Behind a fake disguise
He saw it in a dream
And drew out what he’d seen
To describe it as best as he could
But in order to translate
You must see what he sees
If you were standing right where he stood
He savored every moment
His passion grew and grew
To wear the markings of his people
In the form of a tattoo
Tribal in its nature
A meaningful pursuit
Of history and heritage
Honesty and truth
I’m happy, I’m healthy
There’s those that are not
I can tell by your demeanor
You’ve conjured up a plot
To cure all the sickness
The pain you’ve endured
The anguish and frustration
From the rich to the poor
Facing starvation
In medical lure
All being done by a heart that is pure
Wandering about, the need to explore
I love you to pieces
You’re the one I adore
Time is well spent
You have such an allure
When you speak I’m transfixed
Impossible to ignore
You’ve got my attention
My whole inner core
It feels really great
I want more and more
It isn’t addictive
It’ll settle the score
Between you and I
You’re what I live for.
I’m happy and I’m healthy
There are those that are not
I can tell by your demeanor
That you’re building up a plot
To cure all of the sickness
For those who have endured
The pain and the frustration
From the rich to the poor
Facing starvation
In medical lure
All being done by a heart that is pure
I hear your words
When you speak
Our actions form lifelong memories

Whether fair, poor, or good
They happen just as they should

We remember, or we forget
Depending on what took place meant

Graduation, an exchange of vows,
A winning prize, or a new house

With family or close friends depends,
On how we react to life’s events

Our memories are all we have
So cherish each and every day, like it is your last
Dedicated to my Aunt Ellen
He took a stroll down memory lane
Reflecting on his years of pain
What it taught him; what remained
What to do to make it change

He was utterly confused
Beaten and abused
Danger close at every stage
He had nothing left to lose

So he walked away
To make a life in his own way
He could start fresh tomorrow
But he’d rather start today
There’s something that’s come over me
There’s something on my mind
You will not get the best of me
I’m not your average guy

It sickens me to say this
I’m not some crazy sadist
I’ve gotten over this masquerade
In so many different places

You summoned me, called out my name
Now things will never be the same
In your bed I tossed and turned
Waiting for the earth to burn

I made a wish to the stars
That’s how I ended up on Mars
Barely out of my range of sight
I never asked, but I still might

The view from here is quite nice
You’ve got me thinking this might suffice
In other words, I’ll settle down
Please find out what’s the asking price
The story lies in the pages
Whether it’s read or told
With a beginning and an ending
Printed up and bold
Cuddled in a blanket
Keeping out the cold
Allowing my imagination
To make the barriers explode
Take off on a journey
Sail the seven seas
Dangle from the mountaintops
Trying not to freeze
Or wrestle in the jungle
On a large trapeze
Balancing on a tightrope
At the mercy of the breeze
I was controlled under duress
Naughty none the less
Devilish and scandalous
While pounding on my chest
I am lion, hear me roar
Hush now baby, say no more
No tears shed forever more
It’s just a simple metaphor
A metamorphic mountain
A metamorphic climb
A subconscious effort
To help describe what’s inside
The motivation, determination
The inspiration, and drive
The mission, the focus
The goal which we strive
The purpose, the meaning
What we’re here for; alive
Will we know when we get there?
Will we know we’ve arrived?
I’d give it all and then some more
For the woman that I adore
My heart would all be but yours
Kiss goodnights and opened doors
Walks along the ocean shores
I’d scale the earth to find its core
There’s no telling what’s in store
When hearts collide, mi Amor
Creative mind
Aged like wine
Been reformed
Been refined
Molded with
A golden touch
Canvas, paintbrush
And the such
Soothed and calm
Can do no harm
Release of tension; disarm
Mellow from
My point of view
Like the time
Spent with you
Bending like bows
In the midsummer breeze
There’s the trembling of aspens
The tall skinny trees
They’re armed with their arrows
They rear back and take aim
Then the arrows fly to the heavens
Come wind or come rain
Feeling old
Running cold
Like the mildrop dew
Rain continues
Falling down
Making puddles
Right on cue
Going to wreck
Todays events
Oh, how I wallow in my stew
However, no regrets
Mistakes, I’ve made a few
Stormy weather
Not so splendor
For the well to do
Cause and actions
Split like fractions
Sealed up with krazy glue
I’ve been mining for a diamond
I’ve found only shards of glass
That pierce the skin and produce blood
But I know this too shall pass
I’ll find the jewel I seek in time
I know this to be true
Then I’ll mount it on a wedding ring
And wait for your “I do”
The mirror shows the face I almost know
I seem to recognize from a long time ago
He looks familiar, like a guy I once knew
But I’d never dare to take a step or walk a day in his shoes
He had it rough growing up
But he made it out fine
He stayed under the radar and never did time
Except for the time in his head
And the struggle within
And feeling discomfort inside his own skin
That I can’t handle
That’s when I quit
Cause who the hell has any time for that ****?
I was always into trouble
I was never well behaved
I have secrets in abundance
I’ll take with me to my grave
There are none I’d care to speak of
No temptation to confess
Just some things for only me to know
But please feel free to guess
The child was obstreperous
All throughout his days
He was a borderline miscreant
In oh so many ways
They gave him meds
To calm him down
To harness all his rage
Then one day it clicked
Despite the war he waged
And he grew into a fine young man
Freed from his ball and chain
I’ve misplaced all of my goodbyes
I’ve looked, but they’re all gone
Somewhere, they’re with my tears
In a sad sad song
About leaving and letting go
Things I’ve learned throughout the years
And I thought, that you should know
It’s just as it appears
Tangled in a web of lies
No witnesses or alibis
Just harnessing electric skies
That rain down on our fragile minds
Then picking up a broken heart
For a second chance
A brand new start
No broken pieces
Or missing parts
The condition’s good as new
Desperately grasping
Into thin air
Stumbling backwards
Now under repair
But pieces are missing
Broken or lost
Yet the goal is still completion
No matter the cost
It’s something attainable
Rediscovering life
Conquering obstacles
The troubles, the strife
I long for your effervescence
Your charismatic soul
That void you fill with laughter
That completes me as a whole
What I feel I know is missing
But I can’t seem to control
That lingers on for hours
And in the long run takes its toll
I’m counting down the minutes
As my anticipation grows
Searching out each moment
That you’re most likely to show
As you enter unannounced and quiet
Balanced on your tippy toes
To surprise me with your presence
All wrapped up in a bow
‪The fires lit‬
‪The sparkles fly‬
‪The only question is‬…
‪For how much time? ‬
‪Enjoy the moment ‬
‪While it lasts ‬
‪Memories, they form our past‬
‪See brilliant colors ‬
‪In the moments shared‬
‪It can’t be purchased ‬
‪By a billionaire ‬
‪It’s celebrations ‬
‪It’s feelings felt‬
‪And being at peace with yourself ‬

or run rampant
Act a fool
Decide the rules don’t apply to you
be resistant
Runamuck
Maybe you’ll have better luck
But always question
Never trust
The world we live
Is not kind and just
Be resourceful
Be aware
Try not to be caught unprepared

And if life hits you
Disregard, don’t react
They’ll just drink up the teardrops
Then manipulate facts
Use wit if you have it
Wisdom reveals gold
Someone once said that
That shattered the mold
An out of box thinker
Who’s expression is art
That can’t be hung on the wall
But felt in your heart
A pendulum *******
Not a battle, a dance
of light and dark shadows
While giving patience a chance
There’s truth hidden below the dust
That’s gathered over time
There’s unspoken words that never need be said
There’s secrets covering lies
By spies who’ve centralized
That use metaphors
To send mixed signals to your head
You can mock me all you want
It doesn’t change a thing
Meeting up with an unknown stranger
For a coffee and a fling
Don’t judge me in your eyes
Or your thoughts where I’m despised
Cut me slack, get off my back
You’re nobody’s prize
The velocity of a sparrow,
Can be faster than any arrow
When you’re headed for the brink of a first kiss
Cupids arrow’s fair, but none can quite compare
To the speed in which there’s momentary bliss
She dreams of moonbeams and serenades
As watches her breath in the cold
She has no time for horse play or your charades
She’s adventurous, daring, and bold
A devilish angel
Subtle and sweet
She’ll rip the rug
From right under your feet
She’ll take all your secrets
But at least she’s discrete
She’s more of a woman
Than you’ll ever meet
Moonlight blue
Over a white drenched earth
Winter’s here
For what it’s worth
Snow and sleet
Log cabin heat
A vacation home well built
Our final chance to get away
Snow up to the hilt
An escape from the every day
If only for Gods will
And a small attempt
To extend our youth
If only for the thrill
Moon shadow glistening over salt water seas
Beach sand covered feet
Salt water breeze

Full moon looking like a big wheel of cheese
Calm and serine
Mind put at ease

Waves crashing at the base of the beach
The sky seems within reach
The moment
increased
By a fatal disease

Lying down;
Resting in peace
No need to worry
It’s just a figure of speech
The shadow at night
Hides it’s own plight
Through reflections of oncoming lights
It’s never too far
It’s always quite near
And it’s harmless
So never fear
It matches your movements
Step after step
You can try to avoid it
But it will intercept
So always remember
Never forget
Your shadow knows
Where your secrets are kept
My ‪first kiss is with my coffee ‬
‪To wake and start the day‬
‪It’s strong pungent aroma ‬
‪Is by far the only way‬
‪To be approached at morning ‬
‪Before I’ve had my sip‬
‪Is to gamble, and put your life at risk‬
‪Before my coffee hits my lips‬
It’s brewed with love
The grinds are pure
From overseas
It came ashore
To be put in my cup
So that I may drink it up
Sunrise and the day’s anew
Birds rejoice and sing in tune
With morning comes the setting moon
Sunshine and the settled dew
Budding flowers full in bloom
And the remnants of a sweet perfume
Sunlight through my window
In between the hanging shades
Bouncing off the mirror
Where much darkness still remains
Brightening up the dresser
The closet and door the same
Introducing morning
In a short game of charades
The syrup, a drizzle
Down the sides of the stack
Breakfast with pancakes
Is my morning crack
Eggs in the morning
Butter on toast
Pancakes so good
I brag and I boast
To all that will listen
Of their fluff and their taste
Never a morsel
Nor a crumb goes to waste
