It's far, so far beyond my vision

I thought I held it in my grasp
But it slipped right through the fold

He stayed up in bed
He was smart and well read
He had very thick glasses
That he wore on his head
He tried to capture his dreams
To arrange and rearrange
Every thought he could think of
No matter how weird or strange
He managed to do it
It all now made sense
To take aim at the bleachers
And swing for the fence
He wasn’t an athlete
But he surely might try
To hit a home run, run the bases, and slide
His anticipation was growing
And the message was clear
He could take on the challenge
Or cower in fear
He instead chose the former
In turn, accepting his fate
He’d not only be good
But undoubtedly great!

He had a frog in his throat
Whenever he spoke
About the birds and the bees
He got choked up and shook
While all turned to look
At the man who fell down to his knees
Not a second was spared
For the frightened and scared
But justice is not as fair as it seems
And nothing compares
To the looks and the stares
Before being stripped of your dreams

I keep my solitude in harsh conditions
To contemplate my inhibitions
Flashing light, blinded vision
Could not deter me from my mission
I reached and yelled, which caused me tension
Still, there are things I shouldn’t mention
That slip in and out of my attention
And help me escape into the fifth dimension
But that is where I tend to dwell
The madness away from the daily hell
Of living, breathing in and out my skin
Must it all end before it begins?

Two illuminated butterflies
Are dancing in the air
Giving off an orange glow
To which nothing else compares
Frolicking and fluttering
Around the humans hands
That are reaching out to touch them
Or to see if one will land

I’m not trying to get back to what I was before
Hidden in the room, just beyond my door.
I contemplate whether to enter, but I’m really not too sure.
It’s really way too tempting, too hard to ignore.
I’m thinking and I’m thinking, whether or not to explore.
I just can’t get enough, I’m wanting more and more.
The innocence, something that’s so pure.
No worries of adulthood, knowing what’s in store.
Will I find my riches, will I end up poor?
I take my keys out of my pocket, I know what to use them for.
I twist open the lock,
I succumb to the lure.
I’m shocked by what I see,
Seduced by the allure.
What to do with all this wealth, maybe find a cure?
Donate every cent, the abundance and galore.

“Tell me something sad”,  she said
Behind a shedded tear
It was a difficult time for her
A very trying year
People pass, friends move on
And continue on ahead
Leaving us to withstand the cold
While still warm in our bed

Northern lights revealed
An awe inspiring view
Along the hills and mountains
Here, sitting next to you
The skies lit up
In a multicolored array
On the cutting edge
Because we know no other way
Mystic and mysterious
Jupiter and Mars
Romantically disposed
Underneath the stars

A streamline strip of light
Streaks across the sky
The star I see is shooting
Then gone without a goodbye
I have that star to thank
For lifting my head up high
To gaze in awe and wonder
And amazement all combined
Asking questions to the universe
Half expecting a reply
With the earth firmly below me
It couldn’t hurt to try

The painting manifested
Into a work of art
Encompassing the beauty
That was envisioned from the start
Hummingbirds fly feverishly
Around emerald green sachets
Which drape over divinity
In the most complimentary of ways

Forged in their youth for rebellion
Through hardships of need versus want
They sweat and they bleed
For profit and greed
And they’re made to believe what they’re taught
A rebellion was a foregone conclusion
When everything is a made up illusion
Put in place to deceive
Their focus and dreams
With a filled head of lies and confusion
They don’t have a leg they can stand on
No leverage to balance control
Just a misguided youth
Without knowledge or truth
And can’t do anything, but do what they’re told

You will and you won’t
You do but you don’t
I can’t ever read your mind
In a sense, I’ve given up

With your twists and your turns
Your fire that burns
I cannot just watch you sitting there,
You’ve got me concerned

Just say the word

Wherever it is you are
I’ll meet you on the rooftops
Gazing at stars

You’ve touched my heart

Nothing seems as memorable

Two attractive traits

A safety umbrella  
Out at sea and afloat
And the city that lies within
Is filled with bright colors and hope
It’s a bustling small city
With buildings and homes
But it’s easier to shout
Than to call on the phone

Open wide
I’ll claim my prize      
A thousand ways, a thousand tries
A perfect trap if I’m not wise
Focused, driven, hypnotized
Searching for you far and wide
A hallucination, I just realized
A pink pig flying in the skies
A conglomerate, an enterprise
It’s too late, I’ve been deprived
Hidden under a grand disguise
Willfully falling to my own demise
Accepting fate, I shall again arise
I’ll greet you there, I’ll compromise
And adjust our lives to coincide
This conclusion of what I’ve done surmised
A deal, a rift, to my surprise
All gone wrong, so I improvised
For good or bad, we’re intertwined
Fictitious enough to blow ones mind.
I suppose this is one big design
No attachments to unseal our bind
Just more steps that I must climb
A time to rest and unwind
Yet somehow I can’t avoid the crime
To heavens gate, where the sun does shine

I’m surrounded by stories that I haven’t yet read
stories of my childhood that I was read to in bed

A mystical stardust
Lights up the night
Beyond the forest
They bicker and fight
The small feisty imp
And the unflappable sprite
Always a brouhaha
Over who’s wrong or right
They’re always at odds
They never relent
Until the stardust
Was heavenly sent
And then there was peace
Things became clear
Love was in place
All hate disappeared
And the two became friendly
And then became friends
And they lived on in harmony
Happily, the end

The heavens are filled with my family
They are the ones watching over me
Keeping me away from catastrophes
And leading me triumphantly

Further than the eye can see
I steer away from complacency
Standing here as I live and breathe
Attempting to avoid redundancy

I’ll follow you to the nth degree
Without a care or apology
Call it magic, for I foresee
Being neutral, fancy-free

My heart is pure, my knees are weak
The pain is real, it’s truth I speak
My situation, though dull and bleak
It wakens me while others sleep

I’ve long been on a losing streak
My situation, quite unique
Through thunderstorms and lightning’s shriek
Such allure, so mystique

Unaware of what I seek
To make me happy, feel

Avoiding any travesties
I set course to my destiny

Resting on a country road
Feet propped up in the air
Enjoying every breeze gone by
Without a single care
Reclined in a relax mode
Soaking it all in
And just before the sun goes down
You look at me and grin

Down the path they walk
No need for chat or talk
They know each other all too well
For in love, they both fell
Now that some time has passed
Their latter years have come
They now walk together, hand-in-hand
Towards the setting sun

They traveled on the circuit
A band called “Night and Day”
They were wild and eccentric
But man, you should’ve heard them play
They blew the roof off when on stage
The new sensation, latest rage
They played the night
Into the next day
Then they passed out in a field of hay
They woke from sleep and heard a tune
A string guitar and southern blues
They then knew that they had to go
To the next town to put on a show

Unlike other paintings
That have come before
The ocean, in all its glory
Now rests on golden shores
Illuminating radiance
From beauty’s last request
Shines over the landscape
Never ceasing to impress
Over shimmered waters
Adjacent to the sea
Dolphins swim for audiences
Price for admission, free

Stricken down, stripped, now bare
Held unwillingly in a darkened lair
Filled with crocodiles, and snakes that hiss
Men with wants, they can’t resist
It’s a shame, that they need to exist
Left with only a wish to send a goodbye kiss

To the only world I barely know
A living, breathing, tortured soul
No direction where to go
Losing streak, I’m on a roll

Rolling snake eyes
Room to grow
Collectively cultivated
Starting to take its toll

Born to earth, in the know
Said goodbye before hello

Hurt so bad, needed first aid
You must think I’ve got it made
Disappointed in every way
Encrypted, a verbal spate

Descending down the mountain
Washed up on the shore
Wrapped up in the seaweed
It’s an all out war

Turned the handle, opened the door
Not exactly sure what for
Have enough, wanting more
So much out there to explore

I’ve reached for peaks
I’ve hit the floor
The middle ground
Is an evanescent *****

He’s young at heart
But he’s over the hill
He doesn’t act his age
But someday he will
He’ll get old and wrinkly
With new aches and pains
A walk in the park
And his energy’s drained
His mentality will waiver
His memory, fade
But he’ll never surrender
No matter his age

I relish the opportunity
I value every chance
You’ve given me throughout the years
To help me to advance
You’ve been my guide
My saving grace
You’re a mainstay by my side
You’re the person that I look up to most
The apple of my eye

Buried in her study
She melted in the words
Of the book that she was reading
And was not to be disturbed
The outer world loomed too large
But the tiny print was small
In her own imagination
Her perception was it all
With all of her surroundings
Dripping down the walls
She held tight to her imaginary world
Doing anything to stall

When I was a young boy
I was shy and coy
I thought the world
Was innocent and kind
When I grew into a youth
I finally learned the truth
And what I saw
Really blew my mind
It’s sad that that’s the case
That judging starts with race
I’m certain, that wasn’t Gods design
We decide who’s out or in
By the color of our skin
And there are some, who think that that’s alright
But it’s simply not
When innocent are shot
Which seems to be our downfall and our plight
We’ve really set the stage
To fuel the peoples rage
By pinning us against both black and white
It’s not too late to change
For any color, ***, or age
Because unity, is a worthy cause to fight

There’s truth hidden below the dust
That’s gathered over time
There’s unspoken words that never need be said
There’s secrets covering lies
By spies who’ve centralized
That use metaphors
To send mixed signals to your head

The pages, they turn
Each chapter, each verse
A description, in letters
Invested, immersed
Will the plot thicken?
Will the story unfold?
Will the ending be happy?
Or bitter, and cold?
Will there be a sequel?
Are the answers revealed?
A book for the ages
When opened, unsealed

I waited an eternity
I counted to infinity
I love that you’re now here with me
It was an inevitability
You used to call it destiny
You only get the best of me
I only ask for consistency
In a drawn up detailed recipe
Befitting for his Majesty
And his all consuming legacy
Who died somewhat tragically
But was immortalized somehow magically
I’m reminded of it constantly
It’s a legendary prophecy
Just to mention it is blasphemy
But that’s just the way it has to be
For me to take your chastity
And send you to another galaxy
A borderline catastrophe
I’d offer my apology
In reference to biology
If your father gets a hold of me
Things will fly at high velocity
Just in case there’s an atrocity
Will you be writing up my eulogy?

My motivations gone idle
My rhythm feels flat
I’m not suicidal
Because I chose to adapt
To see the silver lining
The light at the end
Of my tunnel of trouble
And it’s real, not pretend
I lift up and move on
I get out of my rut
I feel it, I know it
Deep down in my gut  
It’s my sense of survival
My yearning to thrive
That helps me keep going
And keeps me alive
It’s a sense of adventure
A curious query
To take a life that’s mundane
And not make it so dreary
I fill it with laughter
And what brings me joy
To be extroverted
Not bashful or coy
This is my burden
That I need to destroy
And become a man
Not just a boy

You became my poetry
My confidant, my bliss
My sweetest little darling
Irresistible to kiss
You’re an angel without wings
That I cannot resist
Fallen down into my arms
I’m elated you exist
A diamond in the rough
My other half, my swan
I’ll love you till eternity
Or till one of us is gone

Beauty is only skin deep
Her eyes closed for her beauty sleep
The counting of white leaping sheep
She’s strong, but emotionally weak
I question every time that she speaks
Her promises, she never keeps
Yet she stands on manicured feet
Quietly, proud, and discrete

A thunderous ovation!
He bowed down to the crowd
It lasted for a minute
The crowd was very loud
He stood there with conviction
His performance was elite
In the role in which he played
A liar and a cheat
There was no room for error
So he rendered it complete
As he smiled at the roses
Gathered by his feet

The most beautiful sight
Of autumn brilliance
Where orange fills the horizon
Swaying trees to the magnificent breeze
Allowing birds to sing
And do their thing
In the multicolored leaves
That fall to the melody
Of singing sparrows at dusk
Until a darkened grey sky
Frees the moon and stars
That echo eternity
From a paltry earth
Meagerly inconsequential
To the stability of the universe
As mankind depletes its resources
And devours itself completely
Awaiting the sun to rise
To start anew

Just gonna trust
The stars that align
If it’s my time, it’s my time
Who am I to undermine
A greater powers design
That remains hidden from eyes
Our entire lives

So, I go with the flow
Blend in and compose
My wandering mind
That leaves me exposed
But that’s how it goes

I want to escape reality
Re-create my fantasies
Slip away, with the breeze
Track down an old memory

Will I find new discoveries
Reaffirm your trust in me
React to your blatant tease
Or lay myself down to sleep

Wake up, and sense relief
Hear your words and feel at ease
Do what’s right just to appease
From a novice’s expertise

They say good things come in threes
But will I let it get the best of me
Turn myself into a freak
Or will I find what it is I seek

You may choose to call me weak
Judge the company I keep
Run from danger, hide and seek
No more to be said as talk is cheap

Sow my oats I intend to reap
Fulfill promises I try to keep
Settle down, near a creek
In the moment, mine to seize

No more rules, I turn my cheek
Do or don’t, as I so please
End up arrested, handcuffed by police
Or walk the line till I succeed

You don’t know what it’s like  in my shoes
Instead of love songs, I sing the blues
From heart ache to heart burn
I watch and I learn

Searching the globe
Until my heart implodes
Caving into my chest
No more and no less

Alone all my life
Through trouble and strife
I bow my head
Dejected, I fled

I ran and I ran
All over this land
I ran for cover
Over and over

Lost in a spiral
I’m stuck in denial
My cup runneth over
Hoping to discover

The meaning of life
But the sun is too bright
The moon and the stars
I’m stuck behind bars

Imprisoned since birth
Scouring the earth
For love understood
And for the greater good

On a bed of twigs I rest
In a featherlight like nest
Snuggled up under fallen leaves
Awaiting my next meal
So hungry I could squeal
But as of now, I’m just happy I can breathe

I feel I’ve worn out my welcome
Time to exit and go
Into warm or cold weather
On hot sand or snow
Mixed with these feelings
That have been gathered and stowed
As well with the fortune
Of nice objects and gold
Wealth in abundance
More than you know
But none of that matters
When you’re 6 feet below

She spread out her arms
But not to fly away
Inhaling all the wisdom blurbs
People feel free enough to say
Salt in air and purple dreams
Waves crashing in the seas
Fragrances of lavender
Amidst the rocks and leaves
Sun soaked and casual
Finally at peace

Aged and weathered
Desert dry

Years gone in just a blinking eye

Fractured moments of years past

Searched for through an hour glass

A prayer

A wish
That time stands still

Over your shoulder

Not over the hill

The inevitable

And dreams fulfilled
