Jungle Gym
Children hanging, twirling, swinging
Off the jungle gym
Can’t see a reason not to
Get to it on a whim
Children jumping, laughing, singing
Outdoors in the sun
Enjoying healthy living
Smiling, having fun

Sound Asleep
There’s crickets in the garden
The young one’s sound asleep
He gathers by the fences
And watches the sheep leap
On the pillow clouds
With air beneath his feet
He’s able to fly
To the stars in the sky
And collect all the stars just to keep

Dink And Dodge
Disbelief by what we can see with eyes
Or what our brain constructs; contrives
Reality then splits; divides
Into a realm of oneiric dreams
What we perceive as a mirage
Is in fact, pieces of a grand montage
Resorting to both **** and dodge
Euphoric pandemonium

I Do
It was music to my ears
The words I wished to hear
When you said the two words “I do”
It made me want to cheer
I’d been waiting for this day to come
For us to be a team
And now I get to call you mine
The woman of my dreams

The Gust Level
A tiny little drop caught my eye
Drizzling like heavy mist
Falling from the sky
A torrent to an anthill
A prehistoric level gust
Sitting at the table
Purposely discussed
Hidden in the thunder
The lightning and the rain
Are unnatural occurrences
That are forever unexplained

Without A Shadow
He’s a man without a shadow
His portrait looks intense
You can tell that he means business
By the way he’s dressed
Whether dark, or whether light
Whether grey, or black and white
He’s keyed in on what’s in his line of sight
Clear as day
Dark as night

The Canvas Speaks
A mix of color
Of browns and reds
Gold and yellow
To paint and spread

Vibrant to the naked eye
The canvas speaks
Of days gone by
And the days that lie ahead
Many things, the canvas said

The only thing the canvas dread
Was to make sure the starving artist’s fed
The artist, who’s face I read
Painted gold, and yellows
browns and reds

Humanities Fallacy
Freedom is a fallacy
We conjure in our minds
It’s the mask we wear for the unaware
That helps us live our daily lives
A mirage for the alien
Lying doormat in our skin
That’s been with us since we were born
And crucifies our sins
A departure from benevolence
The collective human race
That stands there at the finish line
Laughing in our face.

True Star
The sun rose without a thought
An uneventful whim
Casual and nonchalant
For the day to now begin
Hovering the horizon
Amidst an amber glow
Shedding light on the earth
The true star of the show

Hanging Off A Slope
I was hanging off a *****
The angle, sort of steep
I tried to cross the threshold
But I misjudged my leap
Now, I’m dangling from a mountaintop
My cause of loss of sleep
Me falling to my fatal end
Without shedding tears to weep

Deviating Deviants
‪We could sleep away the day‬
‪On the bed on which we lay‬
‪In comfort, me knowing that you’re there ‬
‪I could tell you little lies ‬
‪And you could act surprised ‬
‪And end it, with the flipping of your hair‬
‪We’d both be in the ****‬
‪Acting deviant and lewd ‬
‪While not giving a single iota of care‬
I could whisper in your ear
Close my eyes and disappear
While you’re telling me how life just isn’t fair
I’ll do what I must
If love’s turned into lust
But I will not act as though I’m in despair
Lay your head upon my lap
And take your precious nap
But just remember, that life isn’t always fair
Never in love or war
Has it happened once before
Where the enemy, was set free, and spared
But if these moments should arise
I’d still claim you as my prize
Because you’re my every breath, my oxygen, my air

Hurdles
Hurdles confront me
I’m standing in place
Bound by the outcome
I inevitably face
Resistance is futile
How much time can one waste?
In an existence of quandary
Beyond time and space
That’s where my mind wanders
With my head in the clouds
Aloof and in danger
Still, I stand proud
Resilient or stupid?
It’s undecided, unclear
But it helps when confronted
With undeniable fear
So, I continue, my foot on the gas
My hands on the wheel
Till I derail and crash
And come to terms with what’s real
And hope it won’t last
Driven by madness
Driven to madness
I’m condemned to my fate
Exposed to the differences
Unto which we all can relate.

Our guardian
Our angel
Our savior from ourselves

Always showing love
A gift that’s been bestowed

If I Were A House
If I were a house
I’d open all my doors
Lift up all my windows
I’m absolutely sure

If I were a house
I’d get up and leave
I’d lift up my foundation
Find refuge in the streets

If I were a house
I’d move near the beach
Far away from city life
But close enough to reach
For the mask that hides your smile
I am drawn into your eyes
No words, just staring eyeballs
Are my victory and prize
And with your bodies movements
I am taken by surprise
For the essence of its nature
Are the laws being defied
A tender touch of comfort
A stolen glance of fate
Although our mouths are covered
I’ll just be patient and wait

The Jewel Above The Water
The glimmer in the water
With its gold and shiny glare
Is the jewel above the water
Priceless beyond compare
The ripples cast a shadow
That sometimes dulls the shine
Of the reflection in the water
But that’s all well and fine

When you feel you’ve been betrayed

But I have to, and I must

When you’re quiet and reserved
Hard to get that promotion
You undoubtably deserve
It’s hard to get respected

But yet you keep on showing up
Without a smile, but with a grin
You play the game
Within the rules
It’s in your repertoire of tools
Nothing ventured
Nothing gained

Your Words
I love your words
The way that you speak
But it’s the things that you say
That make me feel weak
It’s your wording, your use
Your eloquent tongue
That revives, brings to life
And makes me feel young
It’s your pronunciation
Your poetry lips
Your double entendres
Your Freudian slips
It’s an enchanting echo
Of musical bliss
That captures my heart
With dreams of a kiss

Tearing through the nightclub scene
Like he didn’t give a ****

When on stage, he played the room
With his harmony and jazz
Something you could cut a rug to

Or take your lady by the hand
And whisper sweet romance
Little words of comfort
Something meaningful and kind

And fill her up with wine

Boogie all the night
Dance until your hearts content
