Lying in the trees
Behind the leaves and shrubs
A feline leopards spots
And her two fresh spotted cubs
Lying in wait, but always alert
Not thinking of dinner, but what’s for dessert
A feathery pheasant?
Perhaps just might do
To pluck from the sky
From whence it once flew

I stood and watched in disbelief
I couldn’t help but stare
The perfect image; specimen
Completely naked; bare
She was a stunning beauty
With pouty lips and long blonde hair
But alas I couldn’t have her
No one said that life was fair

The essence of your being
The crystal ball within

She crossed over the brickyard
To reach the café
With the rain trickling down
On a gray day in May
April showers had passed
Until present day
As the rain never lasts
Nor do the clouds ever stay

Angry eyes

With danger lurking

Will I sit and reminisce
About the opportunities I missed
When focusing on what’s wrong instead of right

To end up old and bitter out of spite
Or will I concentrate and learn
Ways that I can earn
A living, and turn around my plight
I must be methodic and precise
Without having to think twice
About how to get my fire to ignite
So I’ll stand up and be strong

Then you can stand back, and watch me taking flight

I dove into the ocean
The dry land I wouldn’t miss
It was my every last intention
To steal a mermaids kiss
That’s when I saw the creature
Would I finally get my wish
To defy the laws of nature
And sink down into bliss

I swim in ink and paper pools
You’re the queen of hearts
I’m the king of fools
Whisper as the pages turn
Feel the lust, the yearn, the burn
Whimsical, without concern
Mistakes made and lessons learned
Then punctuate my stained veneer

Who’s got fans that all go berserk

Bending like bows

Golden sunsets
Where beauty stems

Waterfalls
Creeks and trees
The kind you only see in dreams
Perfect lighting
Casual scene
Can’t be replicated
By machine

At times, I just need a cat nap
To help me finish out the rest of my day
I cannot sleep though, when you are around me
That is why I am still awake
You suffocate me with all of your affection
It’s justified, if I give consent
The law is just a contradiction
In proving that there was intent
Like lost wishes down the well
You can no longer kiss and tell
Without repercussions
So severe it hurts
But I would go to any measure
If it was just to have the pleasure
To listen to the grace behind your words

Do you believe in love?
I have never been so lucky
When push comes to shove
Never to be struck by Cupid

An innocent white dove

A perfect picture scene
While living out the dream

There’s no time for sleep
When emotions runneth deep
And when emotions get the best of me
I can’t control the beat
Of the thumping in my chest
I grow weary, I confess
Of situations I detest
Both with and without stress

Time, it is fleeting
Like dust in the wind
The old must be over
For the new to begin
A gentle reminder
Of another life lived
We rotate our memories
As the world spins
We reach for the stars
Some fall short, but aspire
To live out our dreams

And we do so with vigor

Candies, cakes, on display
Just beyond the glass
The open air, a spot of tea
With just a touch of class
A finch or two, and in they flew

Whether it be putty, paint, or pencil drawn

But a multifaceted point of view

I’m distraught but unabashed
My futures in the trash
I wagered every dime I had
All my hard earned cash
I have little to no chance
Of regaining all my cash
So I’ll start again
And be back in a flash
I’ve taken my last stance
On money and romance
So I guess I’ll have to reassess my evil ways

There were dark days in my past
When I walked amongst the shadows
Waning in a battle field
Dodging flying arrows
Aimed straight at my heart
But deflected off my shield
Then ripped and torn apart
Until it no longer hurt to feel

He hears it all with covered eyes
He knows what has been said
The tears, they flow, from bloodshot eyes
Now all he sees is red
He cries and cries to no avail
The worlds on fire
The systems failed
Wrong is what needs getting fixed
High moral standards
Are what’s sorely missed
I must admit
I’m not impressed
At how issues now
Have been addressed
The powers that be
Can’t bare the blame
But there is no change
If there is no change

The sun is no longer bright
It’s sad, but that is its plight
It’s not said with a grin
That it’s light now burns dim
And now morning looks more like the night

But this is the way of the stars
It’s not Venus, or Saturn, or Mars
It was here for a while,
Adorned with a smile
And it was nice enough to power our cars 

So farewell to all sunny days
It’s time for a new life and change
We’re like rats to the cheese
Paying exorbitant fees
Running like we’re stuck in a maze 

We drank from the golden goblet
We slayed the dragon in his lair
We traveled far for many days
To save a damsel in despair

We’ll fight to the death if it so be
To protect the kingdoms name

Separated to her own detriment
And a yearning for her man
Her thoughts are all consuming
Still she fails to understand

She’ll harbor her resentments
For an eternity
As to why he had to go

He simply went to work
But still she aches and grieves
She cannot bear detachment
She can hardly breathe
She’s in love without her lover
With notions preconceived

He’s unhappy with his choices
He’s ashamed of his intent
Having grand illusions
With the voice inside his head
Only to reach failure
Time and time again
Of all the things that happened past
On him, you can’t depend
He’s self centered and he’s lazy
Lethargic, and aloof
It’s not what you want to hear
But at least he tells the truth
Except when he does not
He’s a liar and a thief
He’ll tell you what you want to hear
Without missing a beat
He’s not altogether crazy
Some of his intentions are for good
At least that’s what he tells myself
Like no one ever could

Enamored with the orange glow
In ones perceptive line of view
Eyes meet the horizon
As eyes will sometimes do
Standing at the rock face; bluff
Cool breeze, nearing dusk
Bundled in emotions arms
Cannot do the moment just

His smile was a bit rakish
Unconventional at best
He wore a patch above his eye
And a black tattered leather vest
He said his name was Adams
As he sat unsteady at the bar
He asked for a shot of whiskey
Said he had traveled far
He had come across the ocean
To find his missing kin
Said he didn’t know where to begin
But he knew how it would end
So he hopped off of his barstool and wondered
Right through the front door
He hadn’t had a decent meal
Since he came ashore
So he went and had some supper
Then he found a room and bed
He laid down on his side
To rest as weary head
Then somewhere in his slumber
He had a frightening scene
It scared him enough to wake him up
With dancing spiders in his dreams
The next morning he was tired
As he got dressed and left
The thunder shook him in his boots
Heart pounding in his chest
The rain came down in buckets
He was soaked from head to toe
Then he asked everyone he came in contact with
To see what they might now
Until he came across a bar *****
Who said she knew the name
Said she knew his kinfolk
As they scurried from the rain
Then she pointed out a tavern
Said “you can find them there”
Then she went off into the distance
Vanished in thin air
As he made his way to the tavern
He loaded up his gun
He knew who he was after
That they’d been on the run
Then he spotted who he had come for
Aimed the pistol and said
“Do you go by the name of Adams?,
Thou art living and should be dead“
The patrons started running
They left quickly and all fled
It was then he pulled the trigger
And shot each one in the head
Then he collected all their bounties
And returned back to his ship
Geared up for the journey
A long and treacherous trip
So goes the tale of Adams
Of his vengeance on his kin
He didn’t know where to begin
But he knew how it would end

I want to be a positive force for good
I want my thoughts and my feelings to be understood

Where people are people
Not hand picked by God
Who’s only lead us astray
No matter how hard we ****

I feel stagnant.
Like a stale cigarette.
Not sure where to put my energy
Without instant regret
So I freeze up and I don’t react
While keeping my mental health intact
But the days are slipping by
Clouds dimming out my shine
For what tomorrow brings
For us all as human beings
This weighs heavy on my chest
One more cause to feel depressed
Stuck with racing thoughts

I fancied a time when two became one
When all of the grey clouds made way for the sun
I know there will be another tomorrow
But that doesn’t guarantee an end to my sorrow

Time escalates until all of it’s gone
So why hold onto baggage
That you could rid and discard
So that you can free up your hands
And swing really hard
You may even connect and push someone back

Aim high and attack

Keep building bridges
With wood and concrete
So that it may be sturdy

To help them connect

Gently breathing
Sparkling air in ghostly specter
Cool night upon us
Crystal symphonic chimes
Dangling like a hunters spear
Dangerous; stiff
Unpredictable
Their beauty enticing
To the touch
Hints of baby blue hues
With red droplets of pain
Due to curiosity
And poor judgement
