Remind me of my innocence
That long forgotten time
When words were magical and powerful
And didn’t constitute a crime
But those were the days of yesteryear
When souls grew old, but did not fear
The day they knew that death would come
And leave them without a measly crumb
Nothing to have and nothing to hold
In a world that’s cruel and cold
But beautiful in some respects
Like yin and yang, it all connects
Under moon and stars and sun
We grip our knives, our gear, our guns
Well equipped to fight a war
Without knowing what the whole things for
Lay down your weapons, guns and gear
But stand your ground and do not fear
A better day will someday come
But not in our lifetime, you think I’m dumb?
Progress is all that we can do
As we dip and dodge the chosen few

I’m afraid of what you might not do
With no big dreams to persue
You want to start your life anew
So you could believe that dreams come true
And if you dreamed, then you fell short
Then failure would be your last resort
Give some effort, show some drive
Then make believe you’re still alive
And if obstacles get in your way
Then bend down on your knees and pray
Ask the Lord to please forgive
Then start your life and really live

Your voice is like music
You’re ethereal; a gift
You move the earth
More than a tectonic shift
You’re a goddess like creature
Your beauties refined
I’ll whisper I love you
A billion more times
Just to help you remember
I’m consumed, I’m obsessed
From the tip of your head
To your feet under dress
I worship your shadow
Your voice fills the room
I perk up my ears
And I’m saved from my gloom
My royal highness
My immaculate queen
My last thought when I lay down
As to meet you in my dreams

I write to rebel against silence
With words that are chosen by me
Putting my pen to the paper
I spill my proverbial beans
I tell all with no hesitation
My secrets are blood on my sleeve
If only to rage against violence
And live my whole life comfortably
But the times make it harder to do so
With all that I hear and I see
Thousands of innocent dying
By wars being waged overseas

I found my salvation in paradise
Sitting in sand under trees
Overlooking the ocean at sunset
My heart washed away by the seas
I’ll never give up or surrender
And I listen for soft melodies
To lift up my spirit from nothing
And to forget about old tragedies
My actions came under some scrutiny
So I got up and started to leave
It was then I remembered my mantra
Which helped put my mind back at ease
Never give up or surrender
I’m sure everyone would agree
That this is indeed a good mantra
And this is the right way to be

I still remain cautious
I’ve talked with the dead
I listened and learned to all that was said
They spoke about horrors
About the things they had done
Flying like Icarus into the sun
I wasn’t judgmental
I let them speak their peace
I just stood there while gazing
Watching their demons release
Into the cosmos
Beget or be gone
Nurture your offspring
Don’t string them along
And your prayers will be answered
Your voice will be heard
Then you can fly like an angel
With wings like a bird

Let’s bring peace into the world in which we live in
Hate just causes more hate amongst us all
No more bickering and forgetting all your morals
Or like Domino’s, each one of us will fall
Blink your eyes in the morning when you’ve woken
Feel the warmth that’s hidden deep inside
Do not pass your judgment on to others
Instead, follow the instructions of your guide
