With her wings and lofty goals
She measured all her cons and pros
She set her sights to the unknown
And took off to towards the danger zone

Without remorse; devoid of fear
She leaped out of the atmosphere
To reach the stars, to commandeer
What eluded her for all these years
Entrenched to the outer world
Rooted to its core
Pulsing through its inner works
So much to explore
Disrupted, to where it struck a nerve
That’s too hard to ignore
Through meditation, and conversation
In search of something pure
And after all is said and done
Who could ask for more?
Flower petals blooming towards sun drenched skies
A fawn eating grass on the knoll

Birds singing their sweet melodies
Chirping at your soul

Trees of green and yellow leaves
Flourishing, and bearing fruits

Squirrels chasing after one another
Having their disputes

Lush tall grass scour the plains
In the distance, an owl hoo’s

Rocks on streams
Along its edge
As the wolves await the moon

A foxes curiosity
A ****** builds a dam

The butterflies dancing in the wind
The land devoid of man

All of nature moves in sync
Like an orchestrated band

A secluded paradise
Untouched by human hands
I got artists hands
I got artists feet
I got no surrender
I got no retreat
Like Jack, I grew a beanstalk
Using magic seeds

Don’t stand in my way
I got some place to be
There’s no telling where I can go
Or who I can be
Or help me go where I want to go
If I only just believe

I spent time in the devils corner
But never once knew defeat
Looking back over my shoulder
For the ones who were chasing me
Now every time when I come around
They’re taking me more seriously
Because they know that I’m on fire
I combust spontaneously

So don’t stand in my way
I got some place to be
There’s no telling where I can go
Or who I can meet
To help me go where I want to go
If I only just believe

Took out the devils daughter
I asked her to marry me
Devil said “I’m going to get my gun
They’ll find you dead mysteriously”
Took her across the border
Chasing after both our dreams
Now this might sound a little peculiar
But nothing is as it seems

So don’t stand our way
We got some place to be
There’s no telling where we can go
Or who we can be
Or help us go where we want to go
If we only just believe

Had a baby with the devils daughter
Named her Angeline
Had her christened in holy water
Took up a new philosophy
Raised my hands up to the clouds
Screamed out victoriously
Said “I’m an artist from down below
Is there someone there that I can speak?”
God looked me in the eye
Said, “Son, you’re a freak!”

“I wouldn’t stand in your way
You’ve  got some place to be
There’s no telling what you can do
Or who you can be
Tell me where you want to go
But I recommend you come sit next to me”

Woke up the next morning
Back in New Orleans
And the girl sleeping in my bed
Was the ugliest thing I’d ever seen
And that’s when I said to myself
“That’s the last time I ever drink!”
It was all just a dream.
No idea where this came from. But had fun writing it.
There’s thoughts of you throughout my day
Subtle reminders now and then
It makes me smile and for a while
My heart seems on the mend
I’ve been hurt; like we all have
The pain seldom ever leaves
When memories rear their head
From promises believed
Your situation in modern day;
There’s just no way I can contend
From a once devoted love of loves
To a now distant friend
Our window of opportunity
Shut so very long ago
And now under lock and key
Given everything we know
I’ll cherish those days of past
Our connection and our bond
And I’ll reminisce of our days spent
When I waved my magic wand
My rock
My ageless Miss
Chiseled Stone
Spiritualist
To her depths;
To her silent bliss
For eons she’d been put to rest
Now awaken
She doth contest;
That we lead her march
To her conquest
And bring this world;
“This forgotten mess”
To justice
Under false pretense.
Someone told me long ago
There’ll be rain before the storm
I didn’t know how far they’d go
To tell me I’d been warned
Then something caught me by surprise
I didn’t even realize; the truth
That the sunshine had broken through
It was shining down on you
The way it glistened on your hair
It was to me; so unfair
How something so beautiful and rare
Had evaded me for such time
You were so fine
It blew my mind
Then we gently brushed our skin
It was the beginning of something;
I was so sure
But then you turned away and walked out of the door
But I just had to know your name
So I ran after you to explain
And express to you what was on my mind
I asked you to accompany me
You smiled at my bravery
And were smitten by my charm
All the rain went away; and I was warm
It was the sunshine having its own way
And every day since that day;
I’ve felt reborn
Maybe it was the rain before the storm;
It’s hard to tell
For in love with you; I fell
