‪She’d been battered for some time ‬
‪Spoke as if everything were fine‬
‪She rarely smiled, her life was vile‬
‪Wallowing, amidst all the grease and grime‬

‪Her courage was a virtue‬
‪Despite everything she’d been through‬
‪She had strength of will ‬
‪And a rigid attitude

‪Her name was sullied ‬
‪She’d been bullied ‬
‪But still, her nature was always to be kind‬
A rare quality you seldom ever find
I rode along the countryside‬
‪Traveling with a friend ‬
‪Biking on an old dirt road‬
‪Slowing down as we ascend ‬

‪The mist is heavy in the air‬
‪There seems to be a trend ‬
‪As the morning dew surrounds us‬
‪So do the clouds above our head‬

‪Without a destination ‬
‪And a small amount of bread‬
‪We look forward to see the next town‬
‪If nothing else than to be fed‬

‪The beauty of the lush tall grass‬
‪I’d surely recommend ‬
‪The trees scattered everywhere about‬
‪Never touched by human hand‬

It gave us a sense of freedom
That many fought hard to defend
So we shared a moment of silence
For the protectors of the land
Be it love at heartbreaks door
Crippling pain or even score

Void of laughter, insecure
The aching heart that goes ignored

Empty feelings, unrestored
A warm embrace, and it’s allure

No one wins when loves a chore
Yet that is still what we long for
Been stuck in my mind for some time.
It drains my inner core.
I yearn to one day feel sublime again,
I wish for nothing more.
I know that I’ll soon have my day.
When this feeling goes away.
But until then, I’ll smile and grin,
As I walk through every door.
Because f*%# depression.
He fought his way
Through doubt and shame
He knew one day they’d know his name

He spent his nights near the shore
Out of life, he wanted more

He sought and searched near and far
Down on earth, up to the stars
He can’t describe what it is he saw
But after that, he searched no more.
This, to you, may sound silly
But I fell in love with a purple lily
I watched her grow up
From just a seed
I planted her, near a big oak tree

As I sat, and observed her bloom
Happiness, replaced my gloom
Sometime that day, mid afternoon
I wondered back, to my cocoon.
Deep in thought
She questions life
What’s her purpose?
Where’s her drive?
Is she at the mercy of God’s decree?
Or will she overcome triumphantly?
She shouts towards heaven
She begs and pleads
She needs the answers
She now seeks
Overhead, unbelievably
The clouds form, collectively
The clouds are drenched
In an orange hue
Swirling above the ocean blue
With her faith in doubt
And her desires gone
She takes some comfort in
The break of dawn
