It's mid June in England
should be warm and sunny
It's raining and I'm cold

Self-discipline
is remembering what you want-
and not being diverted

I plan to do so much
and accomplish so little

I write on Fridays
because the group meets
not otherwise

The acer
below my window
budded brown
but leafed green

Group leader's away

Blue and yellow paints

but flowers, mixed, don't

I sat on my glasses

Sunshine

Potplants nearly given away
for not flowering
are suddenly budding

I gave up a committee
and got back my me

The bluetits dash about
The blackbird sings
The robins flick their tails
and bounce
The thrush rustles
through the dead leaves
and the blackbird sings

Soon there will be eggs to coddle
nestlings to feed
and the blackbird will be too busy
to sing

Sun in my eyes
Can't see to write

I went in to a shop
forgetting my purse
so I did a quick hop

Went to poetry group
all up in the air
Someone just threw their coffee
here there, everywhere

The poetry leader
showed he was able
and tipped the blueberries
all over the table

The hairdresser said
"It's windy today"
keep your hair on your head
or it might blow away

Not only "The Ides"
It's 'Red Nose Day' too
People finding daft things
for others to do

They raise Stacks of cash
to meet others' needs
a good way of forgetting
The Ides' past misdeeds

ponders rhymes and runes
discussing the future
and phases of moon
like mist on the water
it's all over soon
We make up a poem
and publish online
then argue the toss
over which bit is mine
It's all very friendly
We have a good laugh
as we're deciding
what's good and what's chaff
Now we're thinking of Christmas
of peace and good cheer
of friends we have loved
and still hold dear

This is too much!
I've slept again
the whole way to Edinburgh
on the train

It's beautiful country
with lovely views
and I've been unconscious
in a long snooze

I awaken in time
to see the three sails
of the newest Forth road bridge
and the train one with rails

We're in to Haymarket
I must get out here
be awake and quite with-it
and full of good cheer

Two things we know
about Janet Aitch
She won't have a poem
and she's always late

but the sharing we give
of laughter and pain
give her something to write on
and we have her back again

Bats in a Belfry
sound poetic
but make much mess

I've heard of a number
but that's a new one
