My veins are on fire, I need my fix. I sold all I had to get high last Friday. My family has cut me off, now I am left to do what I must. I sell what I have left and hope it is enough. My hair is a mess and I wreak of sweat. I sleep in fits and starts. I broke my grand mothers heart when I took her silverware. I was in need of a fix, I didn't care. I tried the rehab once but it wasn't for me. So now I sit on a street corner wondering what I will do to get what I need. I had *** with a guy in order to get a gun. Now I need to get some money to get my fix, before the day is done. My veins are burning and my hair is a mess, I am wondering what I will do next.

Stand your ground and grip your sword. Look around as the cities slowly crumble. Hold the line of your fortresses and do not mingle with the people who court death and decay. Given enough time the people who aspire to nothing will wither and die like a flower in the midsummer sun. We need only reject their ideals and withstand them for a while. Eventually will erode their resolve and their experiments will turn to dust. Then when they have drained the life out of their possessions, we can simply sweep them into the dust bin of history and move on with our own plans. So just let them fall and crumble, we will have victory soon enough.

Block out the background noise and turn to the person in front of you. Put down the cell phone and turn it off. Stop the tweets and emojies put an end to the endless updates. Look at the person you are with and hear what they have to say. Do not talk and do not interrupt, for a single moment be silent and just listen. Hear what they actually have to say, see their emotions what ever they may be. Feel something for your friend or the stranger that is talking to you, just listen.

I am a hot mess but I do so try. I have trouble getting it together, this I will not deny. I am a work in progress or so I have been told. If you are looking for an adventure then perhaps you would like to give me a try. I am like a wandering stray but if you take me in I will be very loyal. I am still trying to find myself, so if you like you can help me look. I am not sure what I will be thinking tomorrow or even an hour from now. I do however adore chocolate and flowers so if you bring me some that would be really great, I may even show you how much I can appreciate. So if your not scared off by my brass tacks attitude, come on a trip with me, though you might find that I am sometimes rude. In all of this is you like what you see, then simply give me a hug and just love me.

I don't remember much after I left the bar. The whole thing is a blur. I only know it was bad. I didn't think it would matter. Just one drink before I left my friends. I hadn't had anything in two hours. I though I was good. Now I sit here looking at the photos of pieces of twisted metal. I wasn't going that fast, I don't remember crossing the line. In an instance it all went wrong. I wish I could go back in time. As I lay hear sobering up, I realize that it is bad. I'm not sure what I can do. I don't feel angry nor do I feel sad. I am only confused and my mind is still a mess. I didn't mean to take their lives. I wish I had one drink less.
When you get behind the wheel of a car, one drink can be one drink too many.

In the darkest night, a single candle can chase shadows from a room. In the depths of a storm, one lighthouse can show the way to safety. If we as people will be just one light to another person, the care and mercy that we will give will shine brighter than the sun.

Do not mind my presence, I will not be here for long. My footprint will not impose on your world. Just as quickly as dust blows away in the wind, so will my life be in the end. I was born a poor mans son and I have been forced to work all of my life. I have not attained fame and fortune, but I have gained enough. Soon I will fade from existence, my part in the greater play will be at an end. For the most part I will be forgotten from the minds of men. For good or ill, I will have lived my life, then exit stage left I am gone. So if you happen to take notice of me, it will be a fleeting one. I will be on to bigger and better things as I leave this mortal journey and my real voyage into eternity begins.
James M Vines Jun 2016
Forget all that you have held dear and take a big long drink. Have a devil may care attitude and don't worry about what others think. Tear down your moral values and let it all go. Revel in the devils play ground. Don't worry about how you will pay the bill. You can keep pushing it down the road. Have yourself a ball, each and every day. Party until you can't remember why you went astray. In the end we all are going to die anyway. So don't worry about tomorrow, just live for today. Consequences are for goody two shoes and those who fret too much. You are beyond all of that, so go ahead and light one up. Take some friends along, they can help you party until the end. C'mon don't be shy, why don't you  just sin?

Things occur and find their way back around to you. What you do does not go unnoticed. Despite the serene life you may think you live, turmoil is all around you. The wind may blow high above you, but the wind still blows. Your foot prints may fade in the dust, but your presence still leaves a mark behind. Take care of what you do, for Karma follows you.
James M Vines Jun 2017
Looking past the troubles of today to focus on the eternal tomorrow. This is what we are told to do, but while we live in the mortal coil, it is not an easy thing. We must look with our hearts and seek the spiritual place from which we can view the eternity. Only when we keep an eye on heaven, can we overcome the darkness and troubles that hinders us everyday.

Open up the curtains, and let the light shine in. Grab a big wooden stake and just plunge it in. Tear open the chest of the beast and rip out it's black and still beating heart! Remove the defilement before it tears us apart. It only wants more and too much is never enough. It is a bloated blob that ***** in everything in sight. It prefers the darkness and cannot stand to see the light. It prefers smoke filled back rooms to the front where it can be seen. In truth it is quite a grotesque thing. So lets put it down and start from scratch. Lets **** the vampire called congress and bring something else back.

People think that life is complicated, but it is really a recipe. Like making cookies or a cake, life requires a lot of whipping of the batter or kneading of the dough to smooth out the rough spots. All of the ingredients must be in balance in order for the batter to achieve the right consistency. The batter or dough must be poured or cut precisely, although it is sometime fun make things different shape. When the things of life  become complicated, just like the cake, go back to the recipe and read the instructions again. While life is happening, just like making cookies, take time to either lick the bowl or eat some dough. In the end with all confections as with life, the proof is in the pudding. If you have achieved balance, not left the food in the oven too long or dwelled on a problem too much, then you will have a great treat to eat, or wonderful times as long as you share with others either the cookies or life .

Soft and cuddly they bounce around. Purring like hyper active motors they chase each other down. They will lay on their backs and play with their own tails. Cute and mischievous and always curious. Kittens are fluffy bits of love, that will keep you laughing all of the day long.

There has been a long dry spell and the souls of many are arid for lack of spiritual water. Long have they thirsted for redemption and peace. Now as the dark clouds form over many lives, some say the gloom is for judgment, but lord we know the truth of the things you speak, for all things there is a season. Now after the trials have passed and the valley is forgotten, the high mountains beckon. Let now fall your blessings and pour out your mercy. Let the weary soul be lightened from the burdens that they have carried. Let your blessings fall in mighty showers, let them come down beyond our ability to contain them. As spring waters over flow the banks of rivers and return soil to infertile fields. Let you grace fall upon us and revive green pastures. Oh lord, please gives us the latter rain.

Giggles and snorts, howls and pleading for me to stop. That is what I get when I make funny faces. To a 5 year old that has little self control, contorting my expressions are like a living amusement park. Sitting for hours each day, make a young child laugh. The power of the uncontrolled joy passes too quickly. Regardless of the age, the laughter will always be a treasure, something that over writes the painful times of watching a precious child grow up.

Pull the trigger here it click, pop, pop , pop, it goes three times quick. Life is cheap the price of a bullet. The streets have their own justice, it really isn't fun, living your life by the law of the gun. Bodies stack up my friends got to fall. No way to live your life no way at all. Dying on the sidewalk, dying is never fun. No way to live, by the law of the gun.
James M Vines Jan 2016
Lay down beside me and draw the covers close. Let me feel you breathe. Share your warmth with me, let me know your love. Show me what paradise can truly be. From the first star piercing through the curtain of night, until the rays of dawns first light. Lay beside me.
James M Vines Aug 2018
Weary child come unto me and I will let you rest. Wayward soul that has lost it's way follow me on the path that is straight. You that are thirsty, come and drink from my well. I will fill you will living water that will never run dry. Those who feel for gotten, know that I remember you. Even the Sparrow does not fall from it's nest that I do not see. Come set down your troubles and eat from my table. Let me help you bear your load, come lay your burdens down.

You have never seen me but I ask you to trust me. You know my name but you have not heard my story. You are unsure of what I am offering, but you are curious about who I am. Some people tell you to reject me, but a small voice says give it a try. The choice will be yours ultimately, I can only wait to see if you are willing, to take a leap of faith and trust in Gods only son.
James M Vines May 2016
Moving on past the hurt and anger, seeking inner peace. After suffering through violent storms and the turmoil of life, you now seek redemption. At first you must lay aside all guilt and hateful intentions . Then you must stare into the mirror and take a close look at yourself. For in order to reach safe harbors and still waters, you must first forgive yourself, and then others in order to move on and find peace.
James M Vines Dec 2015
We are often our own worst critics, so when I look into a mirror I am my harshest judge. No one can truly know me except myself. I see the truth that I can hide from others. I know the mistakes that I carry inside. There is no where to hide from me. Each day I must conquer my own self and I must learn to live with what I have done. Though others may forgive my mistakes or accept it as part of being human, I am my own worst critic in the end. So I must take lessons from what I have been shown. The process is often slow and sometimes I am a poor student, but in learning to forgive myself, I will be able to rebuild who I am inside. Then perhaps when I look at my reflection, I will once again like what I see.
James M Vines Feb 2016
Give something you don't need to another who does not have it. Show concern for another person even if you don't know them. Speak out against injustice even if it is not your fight. Be open to new ideas, even if they seem strange at first. Take small steps to change each day, until you are more accepting of others. Learn to speak another persons language, even if you are from the same place. Give something of yourself to the betterment of where ever you go. Learn to share the world with others, that we might all live and  grow.
James M Vines May 2015
I walk down the street and see an old person struggling up a flight of stairs. I stop a moment to get the door for her. At lunch I overhear a woman talking to her daughter about how tight finances are, so I ask the waitress to give me their ticket and I buy their meal. Though I am not rich and famous, though I may never be widely known. I look for ways to leave my mark as I go. With each act of kindness and each gift of mercy, I hope to impress upon my fellow human that they can do the same. While kings may build monuments and the famous may champion their own cause, the simplest acts of humanity are what leave a true mark behind as we go.
James M Vines Mar 2017
Equality must be legislated and religion should stay in church. Doing what feels good can't be wrong. Freedom of speech is all right, as long as no one can dissent. It is my body and my choice. I should be able to love whom or what I like, and consequences should not matter. People who make lots of money need to be better at sharing. If I don't like how you live, then you must accommodate me. Oh how wonderful living in a left of center world must be?
James M Vines Mar 2016
I have walked a path and have built a life. Now I shall continue on beyond myself. I choose to give to another the benefit of that which I had to work for. I shall offer a path to enlightenment and higher learning that one less fortunate than I should go beyond me. Though some seek a legacy of accomplishment and adoration, I choose another path. I shall leave behind another person better off than I am, that they may carry on working to improve the world that they shall inherit. Through opportunity and wisdom, they shall realize dreams that I could never dared to have and through my contribution and sacrifices before them, this person shall be my legacy to the world I leave behind.

A war has been fought in foreign countries and in streets. In school houses and church houses, in courtrooms and in the media. Is it wrong, or is it right. Drugs and human sexuality, what is right? People are willing to risk life and freedom to make their own choices. War has been raged against the ideals of personal choice. One way hasn't worked, perhaps another should be tried. As long as no one else must pay for your choices or is affected in their own lives, perhaps letting us choose for ourselves is the right path at this time.

Stop tempting me, leave me alone. I can live without you, I am fine on my own. I will work through the pain somehow, just let me be, at least for now. I don't need you anymore, I said I have had enough. Our relationship may seem like a good one, but you take too much. You are to demanding of me, some people say you will take my life. I have to stop wanting you, if for my own sanities sake. I am not sure if I really can live without you, but I guess I have to try. So please addiction let me go, I will find another way to get by.

As I surrender to the will of God, I wait in silence to see what he wishes. As I watch his plan unfold, I live by his daily bread. The word which is the body, nourishes my soul. I feast on his eternal word. Though through trials and persecution I may go, I will let his spirit lead me into safe havens in the clefts of the rocks and the dry places. There in his presence I will ever find refuge.
James M Vines Oct 2015
Let the water wash over my body, let the drops drench my hair. Let the cold torrents refresh my soul, for today I do not care. The early morning is turned dark and the cold water numbs my pain. So I say to the heavens wash over me and let it rain, let it rain.
James M Vines Jul 2016
A set of hands reaching across the world, let this be our symbol, let this be our creed. One family helping another, building bridges to end want and need. Let us give thanks to one another and not make war anymore. Lets build relationships and tear down barriers. Lets us give our neighbors books and not bullets. Lets heal the sick instead of wounding the innocent. Let us unite and fill the needs and eliminate fear and despair. Let mercy show our true nature as we are united by the kindness we give.
James M Vines Jan 2016
Let my kindness shine through the haze of hopelessness. Let the simple deeds of humanity cast illumination on the shadows of despair. Let my soul be a beacon in the darkness to let the world know that hope is still here. Let me walk in humility, but be courageous in my deeds. Let me be a light and comfort to those who are still in need.
James M Vines Apr 2017
Be patient and let me begin. Let me strip away the layers of who I am. Let me show you the complex disguise I use to hide my scars and pain. Let me take away the battle armor that protects my inner self. Let me remove the barriers to who I really am, let me disrobe for you so you may know the real me.
James M Vines Jun 2015
Let me give thanks for my daily bread. Let me give thanks for the roof over my head. Let me give thanks for the sun and the rain. Let me give thanks that I can hold my loved ones another day. Let me give thanks for the things I can't stand, they remind me to try to be more understanding. Let me give thanks for every person on earth, even though some of them wish to do me great hurt. Let me give thanks for so many wonderful things. Let me give thanks each and every day.
James M Vines Sep 2015
Let me give you a flower to put in your hair. Let me rub your feet and make you laugh until you forget your cares. Let me cook for you and tell you to relax. Let me rub your shoulders and massage your aching back. Let me listen to you when you just want  to cry. Let me give you hope, or at least let me try. Let me tell you that you are my sunshine and that your smile is prettier than the stars above. Let me hold you until you are better, please let me give you love.
James M Vines Aug 2016
Though you may think that you are small, you can do great things. Though others have told you that you cannot, I say that you can. Though you don't think you are pretty, you have beauty that no one knows of. Though you may think you can't win a race, there are many races that you must run. So despite what others think of you, you can go all the way. Just remember that you are special, God made you that way.
James M Vines Jun 2016
I want to take a journey, I want to take a trip. I want to discover everything that makes you tick. I want to run my hands over every line and curve. I want to find out how to make you purr. I want to find each place that makes you wiggle and twitch. I want to feel the heat of your flesh pressed against mine. Oh please let me know your mine. I want to feel our arms and legs entwined. I want to hear one heart beat and make you lose your mind. Let me become your lover, come join me on this trip. Let me know your body, from your toes to your finger tips.
James M Vines Aug 2018
When the cold water pours out of the sky and drenches us, let me warm you. When life showers you with difficulty let me hold you. When the lightening flashes and the thunder roars let me comfort you. In a winter squall or a spring shower let me adore you body. Hold me close in the silver drops and let me be entwined with you. Let nothing stand between us as we join our souls in the cleansing down pours. Just let me love you in the rain.
James M Vines May 2017
Let the night shades fall and let the stars peer through the curtain of the heavens. Come to me my beloved and hold me in your arms. Take from me my strength and give back to me your desires. Embrace me and become entangled with me upon your bed. Let the sheets cover us as we embrace and know love. Let me get lost in you and forget the night that surrounds us. Let the sweat of passion pour out of our souls as we know love and rapture beyond the flesh. Intertwine your fingers with mine as we give life to each other. Let me get lost in you and let your love be my refuge. Between your breast let me find comfort and be satisfied. Let not time take away the feeling that we share for the few stolen moments that we can know love. Let the night pass not away too quickly, let me love you until the morning comes.
James M Vines Aug 2015
Let me pray to the God I worship. Let me ask for his mercy. Let me pray for his love and kindness. Let me ask for his forgiveness. Let me plead that I can be a better person and show others more of his love. Let me pray in quiet reflection to the heavens above. Let me ask for his wisdom and that my heart shall ever be just and true, but most of all I humbly ask that you let me pray for you.
James M Vines Sep 2015
Give me the answer that I long to hear. Tell me that you feel the same as I. Bring me happiness beyond the greatest treasure. Let me know you feel as I. Open up your heart and I will fill it with love. Join our souls and we will walk as one. Trust me and I will give you all that I am. We will walk side by side and grow through the years. Bless me by saying yes and let me share your life.
James M Vines Sep 2016
Tell me what you are in need of and I will pen down the words. Ask for something and I will find the feeling to give it life. If you are sad, I can make the parchment cry. If you are happy, I can make the word declare joy to you. If you are frustrated, I will craft a work to reflect your mood. What ever it is you desire, just tell me now and I will write the poem for you.
James M Vines May 2017
The ground is brown and dusty as a dark skinned maiden dances in her bare foot wrapped in her colorful robes. Her song reverberates through the air joined in chorus of harmony with others who celebrate her happiness. A child with a small nose and Sea Blue eyes attempts to stand for the first time then falls down and giggles out loud. The music of the laughter causes an eruption of joy from all who see it. A Willow tree blows in the breeze, it's branches whip and snap as two young lovers chase each other around it. Their exuberance for one another fills the air, as the dark haired girl with a crown of white flowers in her hair is chased by her blonde haired lover who's Green eyes shine like two jewels at the thought of holding her hand. Such are the images that words can paint, a picture of what I have seen.
James M Vines Oct 2016
The world is full of glass houses and lies. The world is no longer a secret place. All of our secrets are out there for everyone to see. Decades can pass and we will end up on T.V. , a sound bite then it's out there for everyone to see. No way to defend ourselves, the words and actions speak for themselves. The walls of secrecy crumble and fall down around us, and we are left bare and exposed. Perhaps there is a better way, perhaps we should not keep it to ourselves. Let us all tell what we really think of others and ourselves. Let us no longer leave well enough alone. Turn to the nearest mirror and begin talking, let's all throw stones.
James M Vines Dec 2016
Open up the doors to the grandest hall and invite the poor and the unwanted. Set before them a feast and offer them gifts. Provide music and laughter because they don't know what is hear after. Tomorrow is likely to be another grim and sullen day. So for now show them that there is joy. Let their hearts be light and free. Throw a party for those who have nothing to celebrate and let them see how good life can truly be.
James M Vines Nov 2015
Released from their tethers, to the battle field. The go forward sniffing out blood and carnage. Rife with the smell of death, they howl over the heat of conflict. Lash, burn and tear from limb and bone as the fill the hearts of men. Rage and hate are given to feed them and urge their howls on. No time for peace of discord, no profit in peaceful endeavors. Now let slip the dogs of war, for profit and spoil. Until both sides are decimated and then the dogs shall be withdrawn. In a facade and Olive branch will be offered, only when all is laid to waste and ****** corpses and broken limbs litter the ruins of cities. Then to profit they will help rebuild, then let slip the dogs of war again.
James M Vines Oct 2015
With mercy and hope lets start to work. With an unrelenting resolve lets move forward. Let us find an idea and focus upon it. Let us join together to bring about change. Look around and find your brother or your sister, join hands with them and make a human chain. Let us pass on love and caring to those who are in need. Let us show our kindness and selflessness, not our hate and our greed. Let us mend fences between one another, let us see what each of us can do. Become a helping hand to your neighbor. Lets make a dream come true.
James M Vines Nov 2015
Let's plant a flower, lets sew a seed. Let's join together and fill a wanting need. Let's watch something filled with beauty come to term and grow. Let's nurture it into a blossom so beautiful, let's watch it form. When it has reached its fullness of beauty, its fragrance will be so sweet. It will fill our lives that have joined with love for an eternity.
James M Vines Oct 2015
Lets start a fire that will burn out the night. Lets start a fire and give passion some light. Lets start a fire brighter than the stars above. Lets start a fire with our true love.
James M Vines May 2018
Take all the wealth from everyone that has it and give it all to the poor. Change government officials every four years regardless of if they want to leave or not. Assign everyone a job based upon their abilities. Give everyone an equal chance. Train everyone to go to college, so no one is left out. Make every home the same size and dictate that no one can have more children than another. Set retirement for everyone to be the same if they want it or not. See that the bureaucracy works like clockwork and that no one gets left out. Let's give liberalism a try, I'm sure it will work out just fine.
