We drown so many hours
of each day
by dreaming with our eyes open.
Knowing ... Knowing
that day dreaming is for those,
who lack conviction,
lack the drive to live those dreams
to clear the haze from their vision
and truly be creative.

"think outside the box"
?
what a cliche sentiment.

Think outside,
the parameters of yourself.
There is no "Box"
to contain imagination.
That's why 5 year olds
can turn a box into a world.
A world of turtles ... transformers
super heroes or even just ...
a box to hide in & try and scare you.

BOO!
day dreaming again?

With a pad and a pen
my dreams live in words
walking along the blue lines
trying to arrange themselves correctly
before they stop to rest ...
forever.
Because once I'm finished
dreaming on the page
my conviction continues to lack itself.

-Stretching-
James M Boyer Nov 2010
My leaves have begun to turn
from the green of photosynthesis
to that pumpkin Autumn orange
descending below October skies
landing on the lush lawn of November.

Flat grey skies of overcast.
Of rain filled clouds - stretching-
as far as the horizon line
bursting at their rolling seems
to see this season’s first thunderstorm.

Once I am bare, naked, & exposed
the snow will come in blankets
covering all signs of my yearly decay
the malignancy of once being a sapling
who sprouted an eon of Springs ago.

My arms extended in every direction
inching and reaching for a sun
that has been masked and dimmed
in acceptance of this cycle of life
this years seasonal downtime.

The first rays of a new Spring
stimulate my entire being
sprouting new buds to leaf in quantity
giving momentary hope from knowing
that I am only living for the Fall.

Morning rays creep through curtains
to disturb the slumber that I seek
bright & early, surely certain
to start off ruined for the week.
Yawn & stretch, then wipe my eyes
of the sleep that crusts the lids
check the time with a blurry sigh
today’s another day to live.

Start off slow with little function
in need of a smoke & some caffeine
Camel plus coffee's consumption
eases the vices that I fiend.
The chill outside engulfs me
and lets me see my breath
if I could know what the wind can see
I'd win this battle over death.

I'd curse every glint of morning sun
and let him know he's met his maker
it's a future tense, but I have won
the "givers" met the "taker."

The Rising Turtles Back
James M Boyer Jul 2010
The first day of the week and it reeks of starting over again.

Two days down & three more to go before we reach the weeks long awaited end

****, finally in the middle of the Rising Turtle's back

Forth day, feeling accomplished - only one more moon until the lust is what we lack.

On the final of the days - a new sun means great new things

Hence Saturday is the day we wake to yawn & stretch our wings.

We've partied through the only day we have to catch our breath,

So Sunday is the day of the week that simply reeks of rest.

Chaos Theory
James M Boyer Nov 2010
her beauty personifies the perfection
of a chaos theory hard at work
a gentle flapping of her eyelashes
could effect my entire Earth.

Send a tornado through my heartbeat
of a nuclear winter through my veins
an earthquake across all muscles
and a power outage in my brain.
She could reinvent my humanity
with the humility in her eyes
there's no way I could love her more
no matter which & what way I may try.

My skin bumps in goose flesh
in response to her next breath
it lets the tide return to sea
and rejuvenate her depths.

Her currents intersect like neurons
that fire rapid, nerve to ending
conduct the idea before the thought
no worry of a moments pending
on the fringe of "not to be."
What’s the next effect she'll be sending?
if she thinks a single thought of chaos
it could mean the worlds ending.

Personified By Form
James M Boyer Dec 2010
perfect little lines of symmetry
paint the curves onto your face
the dimples dip & peak a smile
canvassed iconicly in place.
It's hard to describe such beauty
compared more closely to the stars
an everlasting glisten - twinkles -
before your laughter starts.

the elegance and poise of a goddess
            - personified by form -
the greats would be enamored by
your eyes - angelically adorned.
Heaven bends it's will, slightly
conforming to your mere presence.
With the greatest care you mold was cast
to give you every aspect of divine essence.

When We Kissed, It Sparked
James M Boyer Nov 2011
I can’t figure how the thought of her
Creeps into my mind
A smile like the crescent moon
And eyes reflecting only mine.
I can’t hear the words she speaks
Because I’m too enamored with her glow
The beauty of her resonance
Is all I’ll ever need to know.

I bet her kiss is like the stars
Too great to truly fathom
But when lips touch, they’ll spark
Creating a universe you can’t imagine.

Every night I dream  -
Of our hands becoming one
When all the fingers intertwine
Leaving only thumbs,
To twiddle lightly – playfully
Like they were meant for nothing more
Time is the only opposition
Of this unbeknownst thumb war.

I bet her love is like the universe
Greater than I could ever imagine
Because when we kissed, it sparked
Truly too great to ever fathom.
not 100% finished at the moment. but I like how it is now...

Sunrise
James M Boyer Sep 2010
I've come to taint the sunrise
with all the everythings you left behind
your smell on my sheets & pillows
& the image of you stuck in my mind.
The note from All Hallow Eve -
the first show we would attend
the kiss we shared that evening
listening to The Sindicate.
All the flowers that I made you
a simple duct tape valentine
the embrace in which you held me
and said that you'd be mine.
The love you said you'd never known
until I came into your life
all the little nothings that we shared
that turned out to be a lie.

Just outside your heartbeats timing
your eyes, love, are more beautiful
than when the Sun and Moon kiss
like dreams that light life's moments
and let me fest on the fall to your lips.

Only the truly lost speak words
in volumes of truth such as this
morning rays on days spent resting in your embrace
linger longer than the stretching shadows
that paint the walls with this moment tied to space.

"The Epic Tale - titled - ' The Outline of Your Face' "

Little dimples that denote your smile
signifying - The Universe and you are one,
the stars will pay out in dividends
because for them to truly "be"
you must define them without parens.

Uninspired
James M Boyer Jul 2010
Lately I can feel the lack of fire,
for ever un-content,
only momentarily uninspired...

I seem to have this case,
of hopeaholic syndrome,
not yet a cynical *******,
rudely displaying wisdom.
see, i simply have a tale to tell,
of falling flat from harmony,
my soul can't sing a single note,
without the she that made us 'we'.

Restlessly I toss in slumber,
with quick dreams of falling rain,
joy could never really be,
if it wasn't for this pain.
She was serendipity,
hidden perfectly in disguise,
once my heart is resurrected
my mid will surely rise,
to a level of unconscious yearning,
and the longing will finally fade,
love is the ultimate chess game,
step by step, it must be played.

In The Passion of Love
James M Boyer Jan 2013
In the passion of "love" we know no mercy, no sympathy, only what our heart tells us. We cannot listen to the mind when there's emotions involved, we listen only to the blood flow inside our ears. And we smile when everything is wrong and frown when we can't find the words for what isn't right. We've said many things, secrets that only one another now know, dreams and aspirations of futures set forth, and memories of all that we wish we could forget. We say we'll be there forever through the thick & the thin, but in all probability there will be a day when two paths bring a choice and we choose differently. There will be a time when each others name is just a thing of the past, we'll lose touch, we'll lose everything we've had in these "wonder years" the years when we're young and should be care free but instead we worry about tomorrow even though there's no promise of such a thing. We say "goodnight" to ourselves and "good morning" to the same, we walk along, a pawn in a game of trust and misfortune, we think we're different but the truth is; it's all been done before, nothing is original or new. We think the more we stand out the better and the more we blend in the worse - but in actuality it doesn't matter; there's no better, no worse, in fact there's not even a medium. There's just the notion that one person is better than another because of material belongings or even non material belongings. No one person is better or worse than another, no one person can change the world and yet we still wait for that one who can walk on water...

Get The Picture
James M Boyer Aug 2012
Read between the lines,
Or decipher the space between ideas?
With a list of idioms on the tongue
I could make the nonsense sound ideal.
As long as the words rhyme
Then  no one cares about the content
Or the context clues of word placement
In this one man contest.

I'm the image of a screen print
Painting vinyl language on your eyelids.
I've been blessed with the gift of gab
Or cursed to forever feed the iris
With lies of idiopathic rhythm
Like the to and fro of dreams
Let me still the R.E.M.s
By absorbing all their screams.

Ramble on and on, along the lines
The true nuance of a scribbler
Let me ink the words a little darker
So you can **"get the picture."

Kiss The Sky As One
James M Boyer Dec 2011
I bet she loves the Moon
just a little more than the Sun
because without the Moon there's no eclipse
to kiss the sky as one.
Casting stars in daylight hours
like the enigma of a dream
her shadow bleeds onto the concrete
blooming a rose, bursting through a seam.
The poems written on her expressions
guide the inspiration through my pen
close my eyes and pages later
imagination's exploded on a whim.
I bet the Sun loves the Moon
just a little more than himself
because without her to reflect his light
he'd be alone, nothing in itself.

Say it again but this time with feeling
Peeling back the fears you hide
Try, try to keep these heartbeats working
                                                         Your searching ends today
Repay my love with loves caressing
Impressing your soul into my being
Seeing things for the first time now

Top Rung Being
James M Boyer Feb 2011
Like petals from the flower bloomed
her smile wades
as eyes consume
the personification of beauty...
of which every angel longs
but could never hope to be
because their wings are over encumbered
by the burden of our wrongs.

Shadows cast upon the face
of the ever-blazing sun
top rung being...
of the evolution sprung...
proof of natural selection
is the breath that leaves her lungs.

hour glassed and figurine(d)
are the angles of her curves
parabolas that round just right,
i wish they'd never end,
penned in shape with permanency
nerves twist and wined to lips
that trade kiss with me like currency.

Her soul peers out through her iris
desirous to capture this moment.

because this moment will last forever...
universally content
lips bent & crease at both corners
when i rest my hands upon her hips.
and treat each passing glance as the priceless...
the priceless gift of knowing bliss.

The 13th Cycle
James M Boyer Oct 2011
We are the demise of man, our own minds and hands have cursed us to what seems like an unfortunate end.  A new beginning to an old story re-written throughout the ripples of time, hours forward repeat hours passed as our Earth circles the drain.  No different than the Dinosaurs - a forceful reign at the top of the food chain except there's no comet to end our terror.  We are the most 'advanced' species on the planet but compared to what are we so advanced? Ourselves?  There is no other competition except other cultures from other places but we are all still just men, Human, or more correctly - animals. Bigger brains don't make us more special or from different origins, we all started from the same nothing; and that is where we will all go back to.  We are a compelling bunch of intricately compressed molecules claiming to be lords of the world that we are wasting no time destroying.

They say the world is round
but I've wandered to it's edge.
I've peered into the Heavens
which resembles the beauty in your eyes.
I've stood at the adjacent edge to nothing
and listened to the complexion of a heartbeat,
like yours when I rest my head upon your chest.
I've smelt the blooming rose
as it opened for the first time,
and I have caught tears from stars,
just like the ones I've wiped from your eyes.
I have heard all the sweet nothings
which I whisper in you ear,
and I have fallen for perfection
because I have fallen for you.

Monster
James M Boyer Jul 2010
It's the churning in my stomach again,
beyond anger, beyond pain,
beyond anything I've ever felt before.

it's those tunnels that scope my vision,
like the ******
staring down his gun.
It's that -
unforgettable sound
of porcelain shattering under your skin,
like muffled screams -
into the midnight pillow...

For I am
the ****** in every war,
in every untold "love story."
I am
what dwells
within a fighting heartbeat,
the pulse, the backbone,
the very ******
of every knife in the back.
without hesitance
I'll turn your world upside down
and inside out;
just to paint the sunset red.

I'll be there for every breakup,
every fight, and every fall.
I am
a Monster
un-welcomed to most,
yet embraced by so many.
I bring the demise of friendships,
courtships,
and all good things.
and yet I am always around,
even when you think I'm not,
I am
there to guide you
into
that rage you can't control...

Born of vengeance, envy, and jealousy;
i give birth to bloodshed, pain, and tears...

I am love, I am Hate...
not really a poem. More of a look inside myself at a point in life when anger and hatred really ruled me.

Priestess
James M Boyer Mar 2011
Sleeping beauty,
waiting...
for the kiss to set her free,
riding public transit trains
westward...
her destination is the sea.
To breathe that ocean air
deep into her being,
to exhale her essence onto the horizon
and be the aura of a dream.

Intertwined into the shoreline
of the pacific currents end
the native elders called her priestess
in the legends that they penned.
she's the rain to fuel the harvest
before the winter comes
****** up by the silver linings
of clouds out on the run,
her heartbeat is the thunder
before the lightnings tongue
licks the sky & pounds the earth
like a head stretched tight atop a drum,
and her voice is like the whispers
floating on the breeze
leaked out through a smile
that's been rustled up by Autumn leaves.

My Epic Throne
James M Boyer Sep 2010
The King gales giant orders
from my epic throne
I finally found the inspiration
let the horns be blown.
Bring my ***** and my wife
so they may see it too
colored just outside the lines
and the thought is purely true.
I'm the King to lead the dom
that's post the title pre my name
so I will lead them to the doom
of the dragon to be slain.
"Wing-ed beast & fire mouth
who's surely come from Hell
it's time to meet your fate
by the mighty hand of Eld
I've brought my fabled sword
pulled from the impossible stone
to pierce your chest right between -
the scales your heart calls home."

It truly was an epic battle
beyond any kind of comprehension
I stood before the knights of round
and commanded their attention.
Because in the end I stood the victor
over the abomination of the land
with my arm & sword held high
and dragons life essence on my hands.

Age of the Martyr
James M Boyer Jul 2010
Dreaming is the real life,
and living seems the dream,
Heaven awaits, as aftermath,
for the days lost,
at every rising sun.

and Every night,
the stars shine,
but no one seems to care,
at every rising moon,
a soul is lost,
because no one's ever there.

A lonely ear, to listen,
an empty heart, to feel,
a shoulder for a head to rest,
when nothing feels too real,
now memories seem graffittied,
upon the crumbling walls,
the ruins left, just rotting,
and there is where you'll fall.

so look to the skies,
every empty light,
for answers to your pain,
an ever watching eye,
and when the sun sleeps,
you'll never be the same.

and Every night,
the stars shine,
but no one seems to care,
at every rising moon,
a soul is lost,
because no one's ever there.

Self Absorption

Her eyes are like my therapy
with a glint that calms my nerves
even if she doesn't know
this feelings not deserved.
I am a head case
with a basket full of bad habits
smokers cough & tar filled lungs
is just one amongst the average.
Too much **** & too much *****
consumed in self absorption
not even worth a single cent
and I've claimed it as extortion.
Yet her smile is a blessing
from my immoral being
swept up by her laughter
distracts internal screaming,
I bare the curses of a lesser man
but never say a word
because it's through her heart & soul
that I know that I'll be cured.

I loved the idea of love,

-once-

entranced by the beating time,

forever trapped in the moment

of when I was lost inside your eyes.

I told you that I loved you,

and I'm truly sorry that I lied,

but you were just another harlot

with a siren between your thighs.

Cursed to be eternily tourmented,

by the taste and texture of your lips,

twisted into blind perception,

every time I accept your sinful kiss.

The devil has the masters strings,

to toy and make us dance in tasteless bliss,

then draw the night to dreary's end,

and paint the stars of which we wish.

Wading
James M Boyer Aug 2010
We're perpetuating an inevitably
awkward moment
with I love yous
soft touches
& 'one and only' stares
that make every kiss
just a little sour.

"five more minutes"
turns into an hour
of cuddling without our shields on
in the flesh with goose bumps
falling asleep to the smell of your hair.

but her essence drafts the air.
if I would have known
my true love
was gleaming round the bend
I would have closed my eyes to yours
and waded her beauty
with my pen.

Days were lost in heartbeats
while slower hours fed my eyes
we played this one on a clock
that let precious seconds die.
Lashes upon lashes
your true beauty's when you sleep
comfortably you rest beside me
but are farther than my reach.
So, sorry to just write this off
but it's all been said before
the attraction of once alike minds
has finally lost it's lure.
An echo of a moment passed
in the searching for my sun
where we could never find a way
to say this time is done.
Like masters of the universe
trading nickels for a penny’s thought
who knew the war would end this way
without a single battle being fought.
A truce before we become
two enemies who swoon
and I won't plead a final case
prior to my ascending to the moon.

Universe 2 - Attempt #9
James M Boyer Dec 2012
To the nights,
we watched stars bring life
to the darkness,
like blood through the veins of the Universe.
Where we sat
became the place to be,
on the sea of condensation.
Our glasses half full
our stomachs half empty
and our palates,
well adjusted to the flavor
of a moment in the making.

You could hear the distance
                         between breaths
as our hearts beat
like tides,
crashing upon the horizon.
feel the currents of the words we spoke
in silence...
For hours on end.

But that's how things were supposed to be.

Then!
Then, was a twinkle in the distance.
A smile in a shooting star,
pointing out that the lines of constellations
intersect with every crevasse
in the palms of our hands.
Then! we found the true meaning
in a sunrise.
For.... A Friend.

I fell in love with a smile,

thats told so many lies,

torturtered by the dimples,

that line up perfect with her eyes.

like fall leaves,

her heart changes with the cold,

crumpled on the ground,

from when she broke the mold.

god whispered once,

that she's an angel in disguise,

but i stopped believing that day,

because i knew it was a lie.

so, i planted the starlight,

that glistens in her stare,

even though she left that night,

into the autumn air.

trying to find a rhythm
that can cure my head
of this verse infected syndrome.
No luck, only irritations
the syllables won't take shape
only rearrange themselves
and fall back into place.
The thought blurs a little
before the eye inside my mind
the contact lens of perception
creases & tears with time.

Can't seem to find the footing
that lets my pen walk on the white
teeter on the blue lines
and space the words just right.
Simple A B C B scheme
four lines before it's complete
stood up to the best of me
but still I can't compete .
Conception of a masterpiece
that will never have an end
only the idea of a finished product
that I've created with my pen.

Before I ever seen your face
The perfectness of lineage
As your curves took on their shape.
Dimples at the very tip,
Of your very flexible legs
I could sit and let you be
My pinning over sage.

Apple from the tree of knowledge
In Eden’s Garden Grove
Even in the black lit darkness
Your dancing halos glow.
Mirror Imaged complexion,
Reflecting the beauty of the stars
Pinned up to the night fall
Like fire flies in jars.

If only it were that simple
To capture the beauty you behold,
Inside Masonic glass and lid
Because for you there is no mold.

With an evenly stellar shine

and there's no such thing as end
only stories of the mystic creatures
that only seas could think to pen.

The stars that paint the landscape
twinkle, glisten, shine,
and all that live below them
can only look and pine.
Universally forever,
is the thoughtless-ness of being
we'd never know a single thing
without the hopelessness of dreaming

Angelic Little Devil
James M Boyer Nov 2010
Couldn't say it's that I love you
just lust to see you smile
speak to you in only truth
& feel every moment for awhile.
Angelic little Devil - with -
imagination running wild.

A little glare of trouble
in your always glossy eyes
and the hint in your voice
when you're up to something sly
even how your lips twitch
when you try so hard to lie.

But there's no justice for this poem
because you'll never read a word
to think of you as reality
would truly be absurd
in the connections of my neurons
is where dreams create the lure
of perfection in your beauty
the way your aura glows
the sparkle in your iris
and that subtle upturned nose
that will never see the daylight
because my dreams are all you know.

Love the Afterglow
James M Boyer Jul 2010
Upon yonder window the twilight breaks
While her beauty outshines the sun
the night falls with the stars trailing
And with her his heart truly beats.
The sonnets have all been written
And the plays have all been played
But love has never left the pages
Before this moment of hearts first flight
Where afterglow bleeds into presence.

Forever… and always for this kiss to dream
When dreams have not yet been slept
His soul treads her path -
Of interlacing glimpses and long hidden stares.

He falters step and fumbles words
Unsure if he’s awake -
Or trapped by the weight of his sheets
Only aware of the ambiance between them -
The silhouettes of realities fading
Where her smile is all he needs to breathe
And the epiphany of like minded self
Intoxicates every sense of being.

Forever… and always for this kiss to dream
When dreams have not yet been slept
He’s lost himself within her beam
Of interlacing doors and worlds apart.

There’s nowhere like never
Purgatory of the mind
The info man has the answers
Behind his booth made of time
4th dimension relapse
As the minute hand proceeds the hour
Noon falls victim to midnight
As the stars regain their power.

We remove soul from host
In a biological defeat
Don’t judge a man’s travels
Until you’ve read the stories
Told by the lines in the soles of his feet.

With each worth a thousand words
Pictures paint themselves so clear
But can’t capture the brilliance of a soul
Until the last breath is gasped here.
Then moon recites the epitaph
That’s etched into his face
From the creators of his brutal beauty
he starts off slow to set the pace.

We remove soul from host
In a biological defeat
Don’t judge a man’s travels
Until you’ve read the stories
Told by the lines in the soles of his feet.

And the mother reunites our flesh
With the sanctity of her Murth
For we have reached the finish line
To lay our bodies beneath the dirt.
And our fathers faces have faded
As we forget all that we’ve been taught
Except his final lesson
Of the art of selfless thought.

We remove soul from host
In a biological defeat
Don’t judge a mans travels
Until you’ve read the stories
Told by the lines in the soles of his feet.

Noxious
James M Boyer Jul 2010
it's time to let the threads unravel
and travel away at light speed.
carry me through the universe
attached by simple string.
like a puppet hung from stars
to dance throughout the galaxy.

noxiously I linger longer
than the expectancy of life.
to devour every black hole
and every speck of light.

it's time to break down gravity
& let weightlesness take effect
to suffocate all that's living
leaving the simple heartbeat a wreck.
like the expansion of brain matter
an idea is all that's left.

noxiously I linger longer
than the expectancy of life.
to devour every black hole
and every speck of light.

So in love with these images of self preservation.  The mind leads the wicked, while the heart & soul guide the truely righteous.  The path is not laid before us, we must tread our own way, seeking purity in our own minds.  Not giving way to the false values of the lost majority.  Instead embrace the ideals of our conscience mind and support the idea of our subconscious wondering through our soul.  Like the majestic Raven we are only vessels to transport the immortal spirit from one stage to the next.  A time capsule for our past, present, and future lives.

Eentertained Notions
James M Boyer Oct 2010
Every line speaks to me,
Whispers the right words
Tells me were to put them
On the page –
So the rhythm is superb.
Like writing raps,
Without the essence of a beat
No chorus in the rhyme scheme
Just entertained notions –
Emotions make the point I mean.
At night, while I try to sleep
I can hear the walls breathe
A light but steady tempo
With pauses on the 2 & 4
Inhale on the 1, exhale on the 3.
But I’ve never been a musician,
Don’t know how to keep the time
At least not correctly,
My toes tapped out of sink
When I sat to write this rhyme.

Nothing But The End
James M Boyer Nov 2012
you keep an eye up to the heavens
but you don't ever look for God
and if we talk about religion
all you do is shake a nod.
If I told you my religion
is the presence that I feel
and that my mind is on the earthly
then that **** is on the real.
No book for definition
right is right, wrong is wrong
that's inherent knowledge
and you've known it all along.

you must love thy neighbor
sounds like love me as thy friend
and if we can't love each other
then there's nothing but the end.
our faces may look different
our voices HIGH and LOW
but in our veins there's blue blood
that turns red upon the flow
in our lungs there's freedom
but we just call it speech
peace is not a movement
but a goal that we must reach.

Dreams Worth Dreaming
James M Boyer Oct 2010
I love the way your eyes
Are what leads me to your heart
The way the night’s soul
Shines through stars
That were drowned out by the sun.

Kiss Beauty, Smile True.

Life’s light’s rising,
As mutual admirer’s innocently –
Become so intertwined
And words exchanged
Make dreams worth dreaming.

We pass the days with truthful lies
To ease the minds need
To let our hands feel this moment.

Breathe easily through lips –
That want to tell all the secrets
to the essence of your smile
But exhale CO2 & slight denial.

We’ll let the angels
-Slumber -
Just a little longer on the breeze
While strings of harpsichords rest silent
To make our travels
Worth the memories.

What's Golden
James M Boyer Jul 2010
The window seal leaks cold air
From far beyond that morning bluster
My eyes creek so I may catch a glimpse
Of the first sunrise of this May.
Blonde streaks followed by a timed yellow
And finished by that vivid orange
The horizon seeps over the darkness
To relieve the engulfing clutch of the night.

The birds chirp just beyond the fence
Singing good marrow, merely to themselves
If only they knew they were truly heard.

The branches sway and bend the breeze
Whisking the scent of needles from their pine
And the dew comes to its final rest
Upon each & every blade of grass.
The light fog creeps away in glamorous luster
As if tip-toeing with a slow retreat
Only to find itself fading quickly
Back into the nothing from which it came.

Still the window seal leaks cold air
From far beyond that morning bluster
My eyes are fully open in this moment
Leaving me entranced by the first sunrise of this May.

Another Harlot
James M Boyer Jul 2010
you could say that I was livid
to see you standing there
lying through your teeth
in that chilly summer air,
how dare you say you love me
as if I were naive
there's no need to say another word
it's just time for you to leave.

Take a path that's not connected
to the one that I will tread
misleading are the thoughts
which your eyes were fed.
my hands start to tremble
as you turn to walk away
my head says "*******"
& my heart already feels the same.

A Silence You'd Never Know
James M Boyer Jul 2010
I was caught in the brief hypnotic gaze
of the most beautiful women of my dreams
as the mid-winter sun bursts broke the shadows
and danced eligantly through her Auburn hair.

Her smile held the true story of my love
as it reached it's peek at either ear
and forgave me for my prideful glory.

In that one & only moment I was captured.

Her light brown eyes absorbed my entire soul
as the softness of her voice echoed in my ears
I could only remain still, entranced, & breathless
lost in the beauty of a silence you'd never know.

Recycled and Re-Used
James M Boyer Jul 2010
hidden deep inside the corner
where reality's a sham
a boy recites the memories
of his friend the mad man.

"the jackal laughs in riddles
so you'll surely loose your way
there can only be one hero."
is what the lunatic would say.
"The silence is drowned by reverb
that leaves these moments set in stone,
as the moon quakes & trembles
and the stars shake & moan
The night leaves us dayless
trying to catch us by surprise
but will answer all our questions
when man meets his demise.
We're the faux pas of religion
another lost & broken tie
there's no such thing as Heaven
for those of us that die.
There's only Earthly rotting
as we're absorbed into the womb
to be recycled and re-used
then born again too soon."

Notorious Pt. One
James M Boyer Jul 2010
The dead poet rises instinctively

to speak verse, free of mind

let the heart & soul do the talking

while society remains incognizant

un entranced by the eternal beauty

of the Earths sweet marrow.

Fall amongst the Autumn leaves

to procure the streams malignancy

for Winter is well on it's way

to isolate us from the tradition

of rising with the sun at dawn

and sleeping with the precious stars

that guide us gently through our dreams.

Dreaming
James M Boyer Jul 2010
her lips where soft like velvet petals
as they lightly pressed against mine
only she can make my skin shiver
and send those chills right up my spine.
like Aphrodite, her beauty dazzles
with the perfection of human form
she entrances all that lay eyes on her
like she where the final thunder storm.

Goddess in a mortals makings
yet true without disguise
the stars will always shine for her
until she returns to the skies.
Her heart pulses soft and steady
bringing and taking my every breath
leaving me in silent slumber
dreaming of the only goddess left.

Her Story(Eyes)
James M Boyer Jul 2010
Crystal blue deception is the enmity of her eyes,

A gift recieved from Hevean or with slight demonic ties.

A difference in perception but to her it's all the same,

she blinks back tears just to hide her longing pain.

A quick glance at the fading sun gives her hope she never knew,

and like stars amongst the darkness her pain finallay shined through.

The dusk plays tricks on her with sillhouettes dancing in the trees,

but unlike the conscince on her shoulder she has no wings to catch the breeze.

She watches Heaven slowly rise while she is stuck in Hell,

The Devil resting in her eyes epassant and resting well.
