The clock's laughing, subversely
as every second fades
bleeding the hours everlasting
cursing the essence of today.

The sun leaves trails of perception
as the Moon begins its rise
to twist & turn the ocean
and pull at the rising tide.

if I ever said I didn't love it
that would truly be a lie
immortality is the blessing
of watching the universe die.

I'm a God in mortal makings
truly free of conscience mind
not born of a lying ******
but TRUELY one of a kind.

Every night the same dream
that never seems to end
we're slowly walking down the street
smiling hand in hand.
It feels like we've walked for hours
but my feet don't even hurt
until we stop so you can admire
and empty field of dirt.

"Once there were roses here
as far as the eye can see
but the tower fell & so did they
so surely fall shall we."
My smile fades into the dark
like shadows in the night
how could you just give up like this
without a single ounce of fight?

one last kiss, impassionate
before you turn to leave
to break my heart into so many pieces
that I can't even wear it on my sleeve.

We're perpetuating an inevitably
awkward moment
with I love yous
soft touches
& 'one and only' stares
that make every kiss
just a little sour.

"five more minutes"
turns into an hour
of cuddling without our shields on
in the flesh with goose bumps
falling asleep to the smell of your hair.

but her essence drafts the air.
if I would have known
my true love
was gleaming round the bend
I would have closed my eyes to yours
and waded her beauty
with my pen.
