Days were lost in heartbeats
while slower hours fed my eyes
we played this one on a clock
that let precious seconds die.
Lashes upon lashes
your true beauty's when you sleep
comfortably you rest beside me
but are farther than my reach.
So, sorry to just write this off
but it's all been said before
the attraction of once alike minds
has finally lost it's lure.
An echo of a moment passed
in the searching for my sun
where we could never find a way
to say this time is done.
Like masters of the universe
trading nickels for a penny’s thought
who knew the war would end this way
without a single battle being fought.
A truce before we become
two enemies who swoon
and I won't plead a final case
prior to my ascending to the moon.

Here is where I've come to write
about the beauty she beholds
the lustful shine
of a twinkle in her eyes
and a radiant smile
that always seems to glow.
you could say that she's an angel
descended from above
or a being of her mothers orbit
born to replace the sun.

her skin has that perfect complexion
like somewhere in between the freckles
is where I find connections
to the purity of being inspiration
and the final synapse of an epiphany
then every line pours itself out
& on to the page so willingly.

I want to be the one who serenades your heart strings
and let your true beauty shine through all the seems
no rush, no need for wedding bells and big rings
just a steady yearning to hear what your soul sings.

.. ..

The chorus plays, while the echo’s spent

I want to be the one even if not heaven sent.

.. ..

A hug, a kiss, eyes slowly close as we connect lips

And the passion pulses from toes to finger tips

I pull you in tight with my hands on your hips

Lock eyes, stare deep and absorb this bliss.

.. ..

I never thought you’d capture every bit of me

But your smile holds tight onto my everything.

.. ..

I want to be the one who serenades your heart strings
and let your true beauty shine through all the seems
no rush, no need for wedding bells and big rings
just a steady yearning to hear what your soul sings.
