and if no one cares
do i still really exist
this city is too busy
to wait for me

all the lights have went out
and the only ones still awake
are the sad
and lonely

We are in the future now.

In the past yesterday
is tomorrow, but some of
us didn't notice.
We subdivided dreams
into half gram
servings so they wouldn't
end.  We
concentrated those into
the smallest possible dose
so we could savor every
morsel, taste every drop
of our life's Kool-Aid.
We lived sugar-free
to enhance the sweet,
and then ignored all of it.
We wrapped our fists around
excitement and squeezed its
juice out dry to ****
adrenaline cravings.

i have read enough Rimbaud
to see the symbolism.

i have read enough Hudgins
to know i, too, used to be sure.

i have read enough Petrosky
to sympathize...
Look, i'm a bear now, too!

i was wasted enough on land
for Eliot,
as fractured as cummings,
as subversive as Ginsberg,

but in the end i settled for breathing.

**DAS SOFA KING,
VICTORIOUS AT LAST.
Arthur Rimbaud, Andrew Hudgins, Anthony Petrosky, T.S. Eliot, e.e. cummings, Allen Ginsberg....all poets of greater measure than i.

i would think the sofa king reference is fairly obvious, but if not let me know in the comments and i will explain...

learning to fly is easy, it's bringing it in for a soft landing that ends up proving so very difficult...this poem is dedicated to taking control of ourselves.

Beautiful pain
 Nov 2013 J R
Cali
I want to just feel how you hold my hand
How you would try to save me
When I get caught by the monster under
My miserable bed
I want to know if you have scars
On your arms or on your heart
If it's broken or bent or
Something inbetween, like mine

Tears land on your chest
When you tell me how pretty I am
But who loves a girl that is in
Such a big struggle with herself
That she doesn't have the courage
To give her heart for the fullest

But it's teared apart already
So if you hurt me I won't react
Like your typical girl next door
Because my pain solves itself
By hiding in the dark
It'll be all alright. Follow me for more poems. Love

He's Forgetful
 Nov 2013 J R

He's forgetful-
He forgets where he put his shoes,
Or where he set down his sunglasses.

He forgets our plans at times,
He forgets what time we were
Supposed to meet, sometimes where.

He forgets that he has a little piece of food
On the corner of his mouth,
And he won't notice until I mention it.

He forgets his shifts at work,
And sometimes even forgets to take
A picture of his schedule in the first place.

He forgets some of the stories I tell him,
Maybe because I tell so many-
Regardless, he's forgotten a few here and there.

His forgetfulness drives me crazy,
Considering I won't forget how
Maddening this tendency is-

Him forgetting plans and times
And dates and places and where
He placed an item is indeed irksome at times.

But he never forgets to tell me goodnight.
He always turns over his shoulder and says
Goodnight earnestly, genuinely.

He never forgot about the time we drove
Around in the back of a truck,
When we drove along a windy road and

We laughed and locked eyes.
It was then that I decided
I didn't want to ever forget who he was.

He didn't forget that I love
Dark chocolate and letters,
That I love the little things.

He won't forget how much I love music,
And how I'd more than willing attend
Just about any concert with him.

He never forgets about the
Particular blanket I like the most
When we hole up at home and watch TV for hours.

Sometimes he doesn't forget my stories,
And is sure to remind me
When I start telling one twice.

He never forgets to grab my hand
When it's idly by my side;
He never forgets to squeeze my hand before letting go.

He never forgets to tell me good night,
He never forgets to tell me he cares,
He never forgets to tell me I'm beautiful.

He never forgets what's really important,
And neither do I,
So I forget about his forgetfulness.

Rather, I remember that his forgetfulness
Is so trivial in the grand scheme of things,
And though he is forgetful,

*He's never once forgotten to say good night.

Nameless
Hearts that beat like
My fleeting sanity.
Fast and slow
Steady yet chaotic all at once.

passion

Can you hear them?
The words that encompass
Us when my eyes land on you.

electricity

touch
feel the complete bliss that is exuded
when I am near to you

escapes

Do you realize
I am at your mercy now?
You have the power
To destroy
Completely
The deepest parts of me
Because they are made of you.

reckless

Sing me a lullaby
That reminds me of the stars
And how in their simplicity
They rule everything beneath them

hush

Luna controls the tides
But looking at them
In all their force and power
You would never think that
They are commanded by anything

Sort of like my love for you
Seemingly strong and independent
But completely
And utterly
Reliant
On you.

I don't know how
the birds always stay singing
& the trees' leaves always
grow back,
greener than before,
while I get smaller inside with
each passing fall.

Everyone says that I am
a perfect fit,
but no one ever wears me.

Once nothing wondered if it mattered.
Nothing wondered what It was like to be somthing.
because the only thing to stop nothing,
was nothing
its wish was granted.

So nothing became something.

Somthing was so eager to learn
so eager to see
taste
smell
feel
so Something wished to feel Everything
and out of that wish came Everything.

Everything grew and grew without limits
and as Something became a part of Everything
It forgot.
it forgot its mission, its reason of being.
"Do I matter?"

Somthing divided and became Many.
Many started to search for the importance of Nothing.
But Something went wrong and Many were confused.
As hard as Many tired to find the answer they failed.
Something was lost and Many had forgotten the question.

Many thought they had a better question.
Many lost touch with something,
and Many lost Everything,
Many could care less about anything or nothing.

Many only cared about staying Many.

Many started to believe that there was always Something,
and Nothing never existed.
And that is how Many lost its' self.
Many lost the quest.

Some would find a glimmer of hope.
They would join together and find Something
they found Something beautiful.
but they were few.
and sometimes Something would not be found for a long time
they would try to find it by dancing and singing and lighting candles.

But sometimes few were lucky
they would realise that together they themselves were Something
and that they were beautiful....

..and that they were Something because they had eachother
and in each other they had Everything
and when you are something that has everything...

...the answer is simple
Nothing is really ever important...
Nothing really ever matters.
