Have you ever tasted fire,
It's consuming your mind,
Burning holes through your soul,
Smoking and smoldering,
Blackening your eyes,
'Til you drown in the ebony dust

There's something sinister,
Behind those eyes,
Lurking, waiting, preying,
Dancing between the whites,
And the lines,
Glowing with a passion,
That could only be fueled,
By your taste for vengeance,
A parasitic blend,
Of monster and man

Beneath fluorescents,
And shower smoke,
In the parting of the steam,
I'm six feet under,
Dripping, soaking,
Bent into my own shadow

Amidst the grains,
Of dead yellow-grey,
Soaked in ocean water,
Salt stains on my blue lips,
I shiver,
Calling out,
For that honey-washed sun,
To blind me from the scars

Steal away,
From that silver summer mist,
You're all out of steam,
Cold and quiet,
Breathless in the light

Tell me,
Do I smell of poison,
You never minded before,
I guess I took it too far,
The taste is too much now,
You always liked that,
I never thought you'd change,
Just notice for once,
I'm still the same

Are you sleeping,
Under that black cloud,
When you know I'm still awake,

Can't you taste it,
That scarlet rust,
Snaking through our fingers,

Open your eyes,
You'll miss me,
If you're not careful
