So many years,
Have come and gone,
But I still feel,
The same hollow feeling,
Eating away at my insides,
Somewhere beyond me,
Destroying my will to fight,
My reasons to live,
Forgotten

I wouldn't mind dying,
If you held my hand,
And whispered goodbyes,
In such sweet, hushed tones,
Softly in my ear,
The way you say goodnight,
But then how could I leave you?

I feel the wind,
Running through my hair,
Burning through my core,
It's cold,
I feel so cold,
Like you've taken your hand,
Soft, warm, safe,
Torn it from mine,
And allowed the warmth,
To escape,
Into the cruel, lonely world,
Replaced by icy air,
Making my blood run cold

I'm sorry,
For running to you,
When you have so much else,
Someone else to fix,
But what else can I do?
And when you see,
These tears,
You hold my hand anyway,
And ease the heavy burden,
That's when I know,
It's okay

I don't concentrate,
When the world is moving on,
Without me,
Without you,
When you aren't speaking,
All I think about,
Are the unspoken words,
I long to hear

You ease my pain,
With your words,
Your talk is not cheap,
But more valuable than life itself

Take me somewhere,
Where this pain will take my place,
In Death's cold hand
