i never thought that i would one day be
one of these girls who's often driven by her emotion,
not rationality, by her deepest longing
and not the rules given;

i never thought that i would one day see
the day that showed me how i must escape,
i must break free, and get out of
this town;

but now i'm lying here in the darkness
just staring up straight at the moon
yes i am surrounded by new sparkles, a spring flower who'll
bloom and grow towards the moon.
a message of hope, i hope.

lights buzzing voices blurry
a melody playing in her mind
no sleep, dinner, her days are busy

she's not used to much silence nowadays
playing music in her ears to drown out the longing
of burning nights and conversations

the gravity of blood keeps her grounded but pulls her away from touching the sky all the same
she wonders whether the moon and the stars are
gleaming of encouragement or ridicule

pigments of colour, foreign sounds
like driving past blinking signs
on the side of the road
she crashes down into the soft river

'go with the flow', they say.

Sometimes I  feel lost
And so under stress
That I take too much
Of the fear I have

Of being myself

I take it and rub it all over my body
Like a protective layer from the bees of judgements stinging me all over
