I miss gray
That boring neutral shade
It's beautiful
Flint but softer
Sand
With a dash of blue green
A cherished old photograph
Black and white
Intertwined flawlessly to create a mix that melts
I can't stand this color anymore
I'm trapped in this skin
It's too tight
I don't fit
It's not warm
It's not cozy
I don't know what it is
Uncomfortable
No
Awkward what is is
It's a life and a body
That I did not pick
Its an strange sensation to miss something you never had.
Knowing it was over before it began.
But for just right now, what I miss the most; is the one time I held your hand.
Your smile, perfect but shy
I still think back and wonder why.
Did you close your eyes?
What did you see?
Because right now, it would do some good to meet that side of me.
