There’s a mattress on the street outside the house
No-one wants to do anything about it

I’m like a Jenga Box
With a hole in the front to put the pieces in

Because I live in this house of housemates
All from somewhere else
All gone to look for something

When we finished Jenga,
I had to put the pieces in one by one
Thru the hole in the box
One by one

And so I’ve got to build in to build out
Understand what it’s about
I’ve got to build in to build out
Understand what it’s about

So when I go looking
I don’t leave things missing

Imagine the world loved you back
Imagine that

No scarcity, but generosity

And on that feeling of being trapped, pent-up
Imagine release...

Every child a prophet

I wont last long,  but my prayer will

If I have a son or a daughter, I'll call him or her
Prayer Book

Imagine the world loved you back
Imagine that

You were supported, your interests were looked out for
Your future
Imagine the people in it
Imagine the way we would work
Imagine the end of all wars
Imagine care
Imagine being there

Imagine the world loved you back
Imagine that

When I was young
I had two pencils and drew in two colours
I would stick them to the brick wall outside
And there they would stay
Until the wind blew them away

But the longing stays
Bittersweet
And just under
I wonder if it has a name?
If I said it, would it go away?

Is it the firm press of reality?
And why can my guitar still play it?
What will become of it?
I got a feeling it’s very important to me

The longing that stays
Bittersweet
Just under
I wonder if it has a name?
If I said it, would it go away?

Sometimes it’s like a deity
Sometimes it’s like broken light
Sometimes it’s like loneliness
Sometimes it’s feint
And sometimes it’s like truth

The longing that stays
Bittersweet
Just under
I wonder if it has a name?
If I said it, would it go away?

I was born on a Sunday,
But this happened on a Thursday

I was looking for words
So I went for a walk
Down to the corner

Tonight there would be songs
So I said I’d join

She spoke soft
Quiet
I was an orange amongst the apple trees

She wore camo pants
And you wouldn’t understand
Until she got up and sang

No-ones fool
She was a rebel with a cause
A rebel with a mind
The words to my Revolution song

She was only 17
She put her little hand in mine

We’ve been chasing those
Quiet wells

The mighty ones
The evergreen ones

With our searchlights
Lights that want to push walls with outstretched hands

It’s been a global fight, from inside
From the dawn and well into the night

Looking for peace, for god, for answers, reflections
For things that can’t be denied

So don’t even try

She wore camo pants
And you wouldn’t understand
Until she got up and sang

She was a rebel with a cause
A rebel with a mind
She was the words to my Revolution song

She was only 17
She put her little hand in mine

I was born on a Sunday,
But his happened on a Thursday

The heartland is a place of boundless love
Always was, always will be

He sat on the tram that screeched into the new world
Turning right, when so much was wrong

Like a youth, full of wonder, running against time
He shone like a new constellation
And we pinned our hopes on him

We said teach the world how to be a world again
Teach the world about wonder and about peace
Teach the world how to dream

I saw him before he died
I saw the keys at his side
And the doors he left open
While we had the world on our minds

He said it’s tomorrow over there
And yesterday over here
He had a mountain set in his eye
And with each encore
We sat in the aisles

He said I’ll teach the world how to be a world again
Teach the world about wonder and about peace
Teach the world how to dream

A prayer for Christchurch
A prayer for Islam
A prayer for the blind
Who can’t see
It’s love we need
Under all the skin
Deep

A prayer
For love
A prayer for me
A prayer
For the quiet Volcano under
the sea
Quiet as a mute

May you Rise
May you Reign
A prayer
Again and again

A prayer
A meditation
A Brainwave
Right for the mainframe

Right to peace
Walking in it’s sleep
A prayer
So that it may wake and speak

Turn the world
Shuffle it’s feet
A prayer
A golden leaf
