The Nature of Love
Gianna Baker Feb 2015
I love you.
I hope you see it one day.
Each look that crosses your face
Makes the trees bow down
And the flowers grow.
You are life,
You are love,
You are my happiness.

Just a Piece of a Book
Gianna Baker Feb 2015
Somehow my paper soul has pinned itself to yours and now I can't rip it off to save what's left.

Natural Disaster
Gianna Baker Jan 2015
We all go through twisters and lose ourselves in the process
But I won't run because
I know who you are in the sun
And I can see the clouds clearing now.
I'll be by your side through whatever natural disaster may hit.
We may lose our house,
We may lose our souls,
But my love for you will only grow.

Sweet Nothing
Gianna Baker Jan 2015
I hate that your pain is my pain because ****** that's double the pain.
But that also means that your happiness is my happiness and what could be better.

To Be Numb
Gianna Baker Jan 2015
Why does it hurt to feel?
There is a full aching pain throughout the numbness of my body.
It rattles me in my fragile state
And I decide
I don't want to feel real.
It's much too much
For me to handle.
I'm afraid of the dark
And I'm only holding a candle.
So I shut the world out,
For fear the wretched pain might rack my body once again.
Forget about elating emotions-
If I can just live contentedly,
Then I won't have to feel the pain as deep as oceans.

Human Nature
Gianna Baker Jan 2015
Why do you you trap your emotions in?
And compress them deep deep down?
You forget about your problems now,
But you subconscious brings a frown to your face.
I never want to lose you,
I only want to find you.
Where have you gone
And where have you been
That's so horrific, so hellacious
That you won't let me in?
Yes, life is melancholy and brings immense pain,
But let's take the road less travelled
To see what we can gain.
I know you won't tell me everything,
But a sliver might be nice.
So I can see the monsters you're facing,
And supply a love that might suffice.

Untitled
Gianna Baker Jan 2015
But then the sky turned grey
And the air shifted
teardrops begin sifting through the clouds as she rode her bike home.
Defeat enveloped her,
She was all alone.
All the soaking misery blended into a single hatred for
Oh why did I let myself believe such idiocy again.
She subconsciously knew this would happen,
Good things always end.
Just leave her be.
Leave her alone.
Nothing in this world
Can soak up all her misery.
The home inside of her is vacant.
And the skies are tear stained forever.

A Little Happiness
Gianna Baker Jan 2015
She carries an umbrella
To protect her from the rain.
Even when it's pouring,
Her smile never fades.

She sees the good it brings
To the wildlife and flowers.
The rain seems to make her sing
Even in its darkest hour.

Though she's lost her way,
Can't trace her footprints back,
She finds beauty in each place,
No matter how deep the cracks.
