I don’t wanna know
Please don’t tell me
It’s been too much already
My mind is weak and I’m unsteady
Please don’t tell me what insanity is coming round the bend

Each day is ever darker
While slowing all the more
Our whole world’s a dumpster fire
Those in charge, our expert liars
The truth, too painful so I try to just pretend

But reality’s unrelenting
No inner sanctum to be found
Though I try to hide away
The truth still finds me every day
So please don’t tell me what insanity is coming round the bend

We all have a song
In our heart and in our head
Some sung soft and low
So no one dares to hear

While others strong and loud
From rivers we have bled
Too sharp to keep within
Too cruel to keep it near

Many are never sung
Some we would die to feel the words
But these doors will never open
They will never feel that light

So much salvation's been denied
From the muted, absurd
Strains too pure to bear the day
And so will stay through the night

So if you can sing
Then sing your song
And if you can't
Then sing ours too

And know that
We all belong
Through our pain
You'll know you do

Though it’s what you think you see
I am not your enemy
And I don’t want to lose you to yourself

I will break down walls and shout down silence
Though I know I don’t want to be heard
Cause baby you’re worth saving
You are worth the world
and so much more

Your darkness does not scare me
I won’t stop until you see
That I don’t want to lose you to yourself

I will break down walls and shout down silence
until I know that I have been heard
Cause baby you’re worth saving
You are worth the world
and so much more

I've worn out my welcome
I've worn out my shoes
Spent too many fortnights
Drinking the blues

I've drifted for ages
My coat faded, threadbare
Dancing for habit
For the hearts no longer there

My song has long faded
Like the owl's late at night
So please let me go
I haven't the fight

Let me go wander
Let me drift away
Then let go of the memories
Embrace your today

Let it out and let it go
You've got so much more to give
Celebrate your imperfections
And live the life you want to live

Why take the chance
To ask her to dance
When you know she's a cold hearted *****

She'll take all you've got
Leave you with naught
And laugh as she walks out the door

Because to her it's a game
And you're one and the same
As all of those begging for more

So why take the chance
To ask her to dance
When the ending is already known

You end up dead
In the heart and the head
And desperately all alone

So don't take the chance
For once skip this dance
And leave that soulless ***** to her own
For Brian

when I think of you
I remember strawberries in the summer
and love as light as butterfly wings
yet stronger than steel
