the world is a stage
but here i am the critic
a cold beer and smile.

life is quite easy
written in english haiku
we're not symbolic.

it feels like summer
but only inside my thoughts
i think i'll skip class.

it all dies right here
responsibility loss
**** i hate that word.

i mean it has like
six syllables in one word
**** ******* haikus.

but you know they're fun
easy to write and polish
polish, not polish.

so i'm skipping class
seriously, what the ****
am i doing now?

absolutely squat.
i'm missing a test right now
crap i ******* ****.

but i did a test
in communications though,
which isn't bio.

i think i'm going
to go play world of warcraft
and worry later.

Because you slay me with every pinnacle of triumph and ruin, oh mechanics. You rewind, even in progression; you tell me all the words to say, in which sheet set to lay. You hold my severed head on display, for the entire universe to witness.

And my demons are like butter knives, not sharp enough to draw blood, but that still doesn’t stop the hurt. Or, worse.

Spent summers beneath the trees, winters beneath the weathers, years amongst all that which I will never understand. So, when you gave me your hand, I said ‘aye’, for I was never sure anyone would want to realistically be mine, never convinced my tiny heart was anywhere somebody could draw their line and say “Stop. You don’t have to say a word.”

As good as asleep in the crowds and mobs and downward cast eyes, three abreast in some channelled breeze, the main streets are the ones that mostly step on the tender part of your foot.

You know where I am, though, at least in body. There’s always the mind which never follows, which instead chooses to wallow in ‘what-if’s, vague references to reverence at its darkest moments. Because blind faith will get you nowhere and I have no reason to believe in anything, save the fact that I have this idea in the back of the recesses of my most null-set mind; and did you let the angels tell you lies?

That you’re not coming home tonight?

Well, you could rest in these sheets of mine. I guess they’re not the best, but I won’t tell any lies. So don’t
cry, don’t cry. The saline runs through all the gears in my chest, and over the season you’ll keep pulling what’s left, ‘til all I have is not an ounce of this mess, this beating arrhythmia I try hold dear ‘twixt my ribs.

So call me accountable, I can shoulder the blame. And ‘cause I’m never quite sure if anyone else would want to do the same, all I ask is that you remember my words anytime you hear my small name; just remember my lips and love of rain.

For some god built me on plans it kept locked up for so long, as it never did quite figure out where it went wrong; and so now flows through my lips as I utter my songs, as penance for all moments in which I am never strong.

So I keep confessions locked inside my book, I keep its wry disregard at length of arm’s crook, the broken blood carriers and my eyes it shook, said “Son, don’t you worry, for today you are your own hook” I replied: “Oh, wonder and majesty, I’ve done you oh-so wrong, and for what? The sake of singing sad songs?” “I knew there was no answer before you came along, I knew not of your virtues nor the day, eternally long.

So, don’t you dare take not a single of my words, for whatever I call mine is already gone to the birds,

to the birds,

to the birds.
Oldish, semi-rewritten.

we should glow together
we should form of a ball of flame we call home
a person is always living in the leaves
a jewel on the seacliff

i'm a broken compass and a delayed train and a set of faded curtains that don't quite keep the sun out and the glare they make in your eyes, but i love you in ways i don't know how to say.

so you can spill your guts to me and i'll clean them up with rags made of "sorry's" and that won't make it better but at least i'll have tried. i made this mess.

you are gasping for the air that i took from your lungs and my betrayal-bruised hands are much too slow to fill them at the same time i'm trying to patch up the holes.

eventually we lay together in a swallowing and somber silence, too many ******* miles apart, until i break it in half with not-good-enough words that serve as my version of an apology.

but i swear that i will shatter every bone in my legs before i run from you when you need me most and curse at the doubt that plagues my mind like black death.

i will shake my fists and scream obscenities at the uncertainties and banish every "what if" that begs access to my consciousness.

i will slit the throat of yesterday, and watch it bleed out - know you're more than enough for me, and hate myself for the pills in your body.

for you, you, are more than oxygen and no amount of salted regret that pours from my eyes could ever convey the thoughts my lips can't seem to form.

so i am shrunk to a pitiful half-whisper, muttering over and over and over and over, "i'm right here. i'm right here." and somehow we manage to be okay.

Love is universal migraine,
A bright stain on the vision
Blotting out reason.

Symptoms of true love
Are leanness, jealousy,
Laggard dawns;

Are omens and nightmares -
Listening for a knock,
Waiting for a sign:

For a touch of her fingers
In a darkened room,
For a searching look.

Take courage, lover!
Could you endure such pain
At any hand but hers?

Rip Lazybones
Drifting on my bark from rise until set
Shifting through the clouds where our eyes first met
When Icarus' assailant meets the same demise
That is the time my love shall be in the skies
I wait and hope and pray and sing
Because nothing compares to the love she brings
No fate can tether me from her, not even the strongest tide
Ripping me from this terra firma shell will only bring me closer to her in strides
Every moment I have with her is savoury, short, and sweet
If you want to keep me from her, you better bring an entire fleet
She kisses my wounds and tells me everything will be alright
"Don't fill with fear even if the sun is too bright."
But I can see it in her eyes she knows this vessel will not last
If you think I'm referring to my boat, may I refer you to my past
One last wink as she sinks back into the water
I can still hear her prayers echoing to protect me from the sun's slaughter
But being Captain Otter, you aren't known for peace
Considering I'm dragging a few foes across the coral reef.
Facing each day as if it's death I'm about to greet
I mind it not, because there is someone above I'd rather meet
Until that day arrives I'll enjoy this constant strife
Because yoho, it's the pirate's life.

The silence grows deafening,
and the stillness screams;
the darkness over powers me.
i look all around and i see mirrored walls.
and in them the eyes!
eyes that bore into mine seemed to accuse,
they seemed to resent being trapped in here;
along with the very ghost.
i whirl around and see another pair,
appraising the view and seemingly smug.
so terrible yet so beautiful,
and wondering when the show ended.
i close my eyes, my heart speeds up,
i turn slowly and find another image.
hungry and dangerous the eyes came nearer,
with every step going backwards,
the ravishing the ravenous eyes came closer.
till i could smell her breath on mine,
intoxicating, alluring and beckoning me,
till i could fight it no more.
i tried to turn my face and again,
she smiled and waved at me,
she trilled a little laugh;
at my terror stricken face.
the sound reverberated off the walls,
that were also mirrors.
"why are you scared" she looked at me,
"we are all a part of you,
we sleep with you and wake with you,
and eat with you and we watch you ****.
we are your nightmares revisited,
we are the unspoken dreams,
the tales untold, the songs unsung.
all your deeds good and bad,
come undone with us.
for we are your friends and family,
we are only, you."
she bared open her heart
and i saw that it was mine!
and i heard the songs of the requiem,
or was it only my scream?
trapped within my own mind,
with the inner spirit.
she tortured me and tormented me,
till i was no more.
but when i start to think of it,
was it all just a dream?
but then she comes at night to me
and then i see it was me.

Sometimes
you just need to
scream.

Sometimes
crying is the
answer.

Eventually
you will be
happy.

There is
someone
who cares.

You may feel
as if nobody
does.

You'd be surprised.

You are a
human being.
Not an  object.

Do not let
anybody
treat you
like their toy.

There is life in you.
You bring life to others.
Others need you
in their life to live.

Like a forest
with no trees,
Without you
there is no life.

Like a beach
with no sun,
without you
brightness is absent.

Whatever it is
Whatever is wrong
Put it behind you.

You are important.
Someone needs you
just like you need
someone.

Don't give up.
Things get better.

Helen
for it was never my intention
to be a puppet with a frown
perhaps you won't believe it
sitting under a liars crown

I've cut myself for long enough
that blood is my middle name
basking naked upon a concrete slab
I've oft been fed back my own shame

so take all these letters, mix them up
juggle them gaily to become verbose
for they have fallen,  at feet
that have stopped walking
just litter, ash, carrion at most

So kiss me on lips
coated in poison

and wish me well

For I am off to a more acrid clime
where secrets will often tell
that hiding behind a wordsmiths spine
will see me burn in hell
