Walking to the end
of the board walk
she jumps into the calm sea,
to escape the ticking clock.

I buy a card,
pick your favorite flowers,
drive home.
Walking through the immense yard,
arriving at the house,
I lay down my card,
flowers,
and love on the headstone.
"I love you mom,
happy mother's day!"
and leave with a smile
reflecting your own
shinning down from heaven.

It's heart break, I'm sure!
That's what I feel,
as you pick her over me,
it's impossible to heal.

I'm trying to tear free
and I just might.
But 'til then I'm a shadow in darkness,
searching for light.

While you two enjoy each other's company,
I'm looking on, trying not the hurt,
trying not to show my tears,
while you two flirt.

Another one set eyes on,
another one to hold,
another one to sleep with,
to replace the fleeting old.

He's just another one,
in her glittering eyes,
one of the many, numbers
greater then the stars in the sky.
