Sickening disgust in the pit of a belly aching for love, find solace in the pain of others who cling to emotions long gone.

(Let Go)                      live in a world where it isn't dangerous                                            to say hi to your neighbor.

Forget that you can’t find the pair to your favorite socks. You do not need them to walk on this soft earth.

(Let go)                      live in a world where it isn't dangerous
to say hi to your neighbor.

He’s like a disease.
He crawls beneath your skin leaving
small pieces of his exoskeleton.
He invades the space where you saved your favorite wishes,
dreams you return to when the nightmares take control.
He doesn't forgive you for those thoughts you hide from the world
because they might judge you for feeling a little too much.
He feasts on your touch.
His teeth sink deep into your flesh, and you can’t shake him off.
even if you sit on one of those carnival rides until you hurl,
you can’t shake him off.
He will leave behind the marks where he entered and left your body
shaking on the earthen floor.
*you are weak and you are nothing.

I left my feet on a pier four days ago.
I lost them to the waves and the shouts of mothers calling their
Children out of the icy water.
I left my feet in the white sheets of a traveling musician.
We had rhythm
And harmony.
It lasted twenty minutes.
I left my feet on the gas pedal of an old Honda,
Pushing as hard as I can to reach sixty.
I left my feet in yesterday.
They are still trying to catch up
With the rest of me.
