Oh if it were my choice,
I think it'd be great
To have a place in paradise
... better yet, outside the gate.

He stands and he listens
but what does he hear?
Oh what is that sound
which rings in his ear?
What has struck him now?
What mortal fear?
He once wore chains and will always think,
that he is followed by their clink.

My head aches from sobriety
When you're not blind its hard to see
The world as it ought to be.
Is not the way it is to me.
The zombies seem to know their way.
Carrying contently through the day.
I stare at them through windows broke.
Laughing at this inside joke.
The punch on them but the laughs on me.
As I'm the one who longs to be free.
From my uncommon sanity.
In the sea of make-believe.

There's a man in the distance beckoning me.
I look to my peers but they cannot see.
I've been chosen by the hooded he.
Dressed in all black, dark as can be.
I get up and follow, leave all behind.
They holler to me "It's all in your mind!"
That's fine with me for I am so sure.
I've always known there's something more.
He takes me away from familiar place.
Garments of night cover his face.
We soar through skies, I feel no fear.
At least I shall be far from here.
