Your love comes in many guises
need not be profound
the smallest gesture it revises
feet firmly on the ground
The little note and chocolate treat
left as a surprise
your smiling face as you greet
enough to win a prize
Do not need expensive gifts
with you at my side
your company is enough
a wave becomes a tide
My dreams become reality
by your ever loving vote
tilting scales in my direction
on you I've come to dote

Wondrous Love

Our love is as solid as the ancient rocks Stonehenge
Strong and as long as the Golden Gate Bridge Extends
Romantic as the sparkling Aurora Borealis lights
The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, held tight like stalactites

Our love can move Everest, make the Pisa tower lean
Spiritual and earnest, as Jerusalem's serene
Occasionally a fight in Rome's Colosseum
Woeful regrets laid bare in Tutankhamen's museum

Our love is impenetrable like the Great Wall of China
Shiny like the Pyramids, there is nothing finer
Deserving of a shrine at the foot of Temple Artemus
Polar Ice caps could never melt our ambient musk

Our love is higher than the Empire State can tower
A jewel within the crown of the Taj Mahal's power
Colourful as the Barrier Reef, the love we feel inside
Grander than the Canyon and deeper than it is wide
The softest, kindest, chocolate eyes,

Stare up at me, from where he lies.

Full of trust and love and pain,

I hold him in my arms, as the rain,

Falls upon him, or maybe its my tears.

I was now living the nightmare of my fears.

The white coat is moving slowly, out of his sight,

Those eyes are still gazing at me, with a shining light.

I see the needle enter, my eyes shimmer and blur,

As I blink back the tears, I clasp tighter to his fur.

As the clarity comes back, I gaze down on my pet,

The light has now gone, the sun has now set.

I want to howl out loud, for my old faithful friend,

I am so pleased I was with you, right to the end.
