You don't belong here,
No. Not at all.
Go find someone else's mind
In which to crawl.
And what right do you have
To keep my vision
From being clear?
You don't belong here,
No. Not at all.
And when backward you call,
It is you
That I will not hear.
And whatever has possessed you
To be so arrogant and insincere,
When I have always been
Nowhere for you,
But here?

I will paint your skin in all permanent shades,
Then maybe you'll think twice
The next time you decide to act brave.
You will keep me on a shelf
Until you need me again,
And by that time,
It will have become
My own personal hell.
We will run each other into the ground,
All spun around
By talking in circles
Until neither of our voices
Are able to create a sound.

No matter how much I'd like to believe it's not true,
I'm still helplessly in love
And strung out over you.
There's a bond that neither of us can break,
And there are so many feelings
That neither of us can shake.
I will always see you just
The same as I did yesterday,
I will always overlook
The pain you've sent my way.
And I have accepted
That this is how things
Are going to stay.

Watching a clock is no way to pass the time
Blowing on the embers of a lit cigarette
is no way to pass the time
But I must say time has a rather funny way
of passing humanity
And what a dry humor it is
Ironic at times
A humor so calloused
Yet discrete
that we call living

There I was
Like a fish on a hook
Reeled in and cast back out
Cast out then reeled back in
The hook never even leaving my mouth.
Unexpectedly then, (evident now)
He pulls me to shore, (removing my silver trophy)
Lays me down to peel off my skin
Then he cuts me right open
But that's alright
A fish is a fish
And it's not as if he really meant to do this.
