Moving Violation (explicit)
David Ehrgott Nov 2015
On 11/16/15 at 4:45 p.m. near 338a Main St., a Hackensack Police Dept. patrolman in car #107 slowed his vehicle down to text on his computer
which he had positioned on the passenger side of the vehicle.  While
using his right hand to use the computer his left hand was on the window slot of the driver's side door.  Keep in mind now that no hands were on the steering wheel and the patrol car was still in motion.  When I mentioned to the driver "no texting while driving officer."  He then turned to face me and stated "*******."  Then he drove away.  This was the most unprofessional act of an uniformed officer that I have ever witnessed Here

in hackensack.
This Really Happened.  Not a made up story.
David Ehrgott Oct 2015
Nearly twenty years ago
I can't believe time flies
When all I had upon my mind
Was thoughts of getting high

I never understood my mom
Popping pills at tea
or How my grandpa polished
off a case a day, no, three

Not wanting to become insane
or Die diseased so early
I decided at a legal age
To smoke the ****, for surely

of All the places in the states
Just one said do it legally
I packed my bags and set out for
Mendocino County

I took my time, such a long ride
on 80 from New Jersey
Enjoyed the sights but, flew no kite
Still, made my travels worthy

The California National Guard
and the DEA
Set up a post to check all cars
in/out of the county

It took a couple hours then
For them to inspect me
I must admit here that this greet
Did make me feel uneasy

They made it very clear to me
That I could smoke' the ****
Just don't try to take it out
of Mendocino County

I said "Okay!"  They said "Drive Safe"
I buckled ; drove away
I drove along the two-lane road
Admittedly Amazed

I turned a corner , hit the brakes
There was in front of me
A farmer man, who did tell me
Get out, you have to learn the ****

I abided easily
to learn most all or everything
I could so one day I could be
An expert in Weedology

I spent nearly a week or two
Finding out all that I could
But, I was high and this did lead
to some info misunderstood

I learned cultivation, irrigation
debugging plants by spraying pepper
Planting, pruning, a beginner
But, after time, I did get better

Then one day after a cup
of morning Bhang, I did awake
Then moseyed on to brighter pastures
****** alone, I was quite baked

Would you believe ; I can't believe
A girl I knew from New Jersey
A ***** from Hawthorne she despised me
This feeling was so mutually

After I escaped her grip
And fed her some more bitter lip
I took my bag, it was a lid
and slowly rolled another spliff

I found a house to my amaze
It said "For Rent" read in my haze
I paid the rent/security
Pulled out a blunt, began to blaze

There was no time that I remember
From months of May through to September
That I wasn't high all day
I knew I had to move away

****, (the grass) grown everywhere
Just pick some off, feel better, there
No one left out of the haze
Everybody there did blaze

I got so bored, I was so teased
Stop it!  Stop it!  Stop it, please!
I can't be ****** all' of the time
Oh, shut up and smoke more of this ****

I could not take it anymore
I closed the house and shut the door
All the smoke I once adored
Soon became all such a bore

I packed my bags and said goodbye
To all my stoner friends still high
I headed north to Oregon
To grow tomatoes, seemed like fun

Twenty years now have been spent
Remembering those cronies
Those mendacious merchant mendicants
of Mendocino County

Eating Ourselves
David Ehrgott Jan 2015
A ball of ice and fire
Floating around in space
Sunlight or darkness
You don't choose for that

We are the earthlings
The current residents
I've got to thinking
What we are at that

We are the Earth (Think about it)
It's what we are
We are the earth
It says so in the stars

We are the Earth
Listen near and far
For I'll tell you a story
That isn't full of yarn

THE CYCLE OF LIFE

The seed goes into the earth
The earth goes into the seed
The seed becomes a plant
On that is what we feed
And when we're dead and done
And our souls are finally freed
We go back to what we ate from
We are what we eat
Six feet underneath
The worms then eat
The body becomes the earth
A new child is born
The cycle happens again

one little poem
can heal a hurt
one little poem
in the pocket of a shirt

a shirt that's ripped
with a spot of dirt
has a poem in its pocket
that could heal a hurt

a hurt can't heal
if a heart can't hear
the words of the poem
that create the cure

the cure for the hurt
it begins with a verse
but you need to read the words
so the cure can be heard

be heard all ye poets
check the pocket of your shirts

Those **** palestineans
They always start
with the throwing of the rocks

They throw the rocks at the people
and they throw the rocks at the cars
and the windows and they break the glass

And then the rocks aren't good enough
They gotta go out and get the guns

And then the guns aren't good enough
They have to throw the hand grenades

Then the hand grenades aren't good enough
They go and make the car bombs

Then the car bombs aren't good enough
They go and make a bigger bomb

Then THAT bomb isn't good enough
They gotta make a nuclear bomb

And if THAT thing goes off

She was a dizzy little girl.
When I met her at the age of five years old.
My mother would tell me "Stay away
from that little girl, she's dizzy.  Watch her
running around in circles.  She is always running
around in circles.  Look at her, how she is
running around.  Running around and around
and around.  Going around in circles.  She's
making herself dizzy.  Watch her she's gonna
fall down if she keeps on running around in
circles like that.  Dizzy little girl.  Stay away
from her."  And as she ran around in circles
she would shout things out incoherently.

One day she came over to my yard and
introduced herself.  I don't recall what I had
said to her but it must had upset her because
she beat me up over it.  Then I didn't see her
for a period of around six weeks.

When she was seven she came over and
we went into my room.  She showed me
her thing and I stuck her and she screamed.
Then her daddy broke in and kicked my
five year old *** all the way into the closet.
I think by the age of ten I had divorced her.
That Las Vegas girl.

I guess it's from all the crap I never let enter my head
Because I did not want to become brain damaged
So somehow it wound up here, in my heart instead
It's easier to replace a heart than a brain

Would guilt trip his children, this story's so sad
Takes half a weeks pay, waves it under their nose
Demands that we write him or the check it will go

You crazy old man, you make me so blue
Do you even remember how you made me so *******
Pay attention, a lesson I've learned, so will you
You only get back what you give, here's to you

You told me when I was a lad of thirteen
Don't come around I have other family
I don't need them getting confused nor upset
Just leave us alone, the skunk is our pet

Or how 'bout the time I was just only three
When the neighborhood mobster did ******* me
You told me "don't just sit there call up the police
But, I have to work so please excuse me"

Or how 'bout the time that along with my sister
You let that bad man take his creepy **** pictures
Sue often referred to her dad as her dooshie
And he'll never know what she baked in her cookies

You think I don't know how you spoil your son
Normy gets all he can handle of mile high fun
Fine season tickets to all sporting events
For how many years now, since he was ten

I had a neighbor, competed with me
I'm sorry I troubled you, what did I think
That you cared?  That you tried?  Did more than nothing?
'Cause you're old now, your children, should they be so loving?

C'mon who ya kiddin'?  You had more than this comin'
You should have been locked up to protect my dear cousin
If you're all alone with no one and feel blue
What goes around finally came back to you

Am I your heel?
Am I your sole?

The weight of your walk
Each step, so bold

You tread
All over me

With your daddy's gold
Your gait, a story in itself

So successful
Given everything you have

Such a power
Usurping other halves with ease

So cold, the stones
You walk on

Like the pre-dawn
Mist of a winter's solace

The stronger the love
The harder the hurt

The thicker the blood
The further the spurt

The further you run
The stronger the dirt

Could it ever be healed?

In Rolling Stone, the magazine
There was an ad that intrigued me
In eighty-four or eighty-five
Find out the day that you will die

I sent away, so curious
To know my fate, mysterious
The answer was so serious
It left me most delirious

Send in your name and date of birth
We'll tell you when you meet your fate
I told them Feb of '58
They wrote me back, Hey that sounds great

They said they'd have to look it up
Said it takes time, don't hurry us
Now listen closely, this is true
They said I died in '62

I said "what that can not be true"
They replied "yes, it is you"
We don't know how you're still alive
If you're still here, you'll never die

Give us the name, one of your friends
We'll tell you when their life will end
I sent the name in of my lover
Whom was married and a mother

They wrote me back the exact date
Of my lover's awful fate
Don't be scared but, it came true
I died inside when my love flew

Ev'ry word of this is true
There is not much that I can do
Just waiting for a life that's new
Existing here since '62

I did not fib, I will not lie
Some killers have already tried
To end my merely self existence
Yes, I'm dead, please keep your distance

People living in the 1940's realized this
and many avoided temptation

But, as the years passed
the urge to purge grew

states to make money [by taxing casinos]
and legislation was soon passed
For more casinos

Now there are more poor people being

Detroit laid off everyone yesterday

So die or ****** move away from there

All the tourists, they keep coming and
the overcrowded airports keep polluting
And the trucks and all the cars and buses
Now the air is deadly;Keep on smoking (idiots)

We thought this city was the greatest
It only goes to show just how much we know
Maybe someday we will save the planet
Instead of spending on the oil and the tolls

This city looks so pretty in the moonlight
too bad it ends our lives;the misery
Hope one day you all will see the daylight
Till then I'm moving far, like overseas

On Sunday, eighty thousand go to Jersey
Where the pig farms used to really foul the air

A Neighborly Talk
David Ehrgott Jun 2016
I had a conversation with my
fence the other day.
And hear now what it said
Never worry about the things that went
wrong yesterday.  There is no way to make
up for it.  But, always learn from it.  That
is what mistakes are for.  Mistakes are
part of the learning process.  That is
why we make mistakes.  So that we can
learn.  Learning by error.  That is what
humans do.  They/we err.  We/us make
mistakes so that we can learn.  Learning
is good.  Ergo erring is good.  If we don't
err we won't learn.  Technicians err.
Scientists err.  Doctors err.  Leaders err.
Teachers err.  Editors find typo errors.  If we
never learn, life would be bliss.  For
ignorance is a happy place or so they say.
Whoever They are have never learned, or
they wouldn't be so **** happy.  I see

This world leaves a question
Since when it began
Marauders, kings make them of many a man
To plunder and pilfer all that they can
We call them heroes, they destroy land
We give them a medal, they cut off our hands
A little boy grows up and kills his friend
We call him M word, world leaders they can
And they they lead us to shutter our plans
When their shroff becomes useless
With blood on his hands
It's a cold hearted story I can't understand
Why we let them do this

When I look to the night sky

When I look to the night sky
Leaving the panic world behind
In the dominion of starry nigh
I travel to the galaxies so high

Stars are dim in the moon light
Goddess Moon is on the throne
Her majesty is on the height
And the surrounding glows bright

Every star has its cosmic world
Too different than the earth
Which looks pensive and absurd?
As no groans and pains are heard

All are busy in their specific role
And they never fatigue
To locate their concerned goal
Neither they stay nor they stroll

I was in the romantic shroud
But the groans of my world
Explodes the balmy veil of cloud
When someone calls my name aloud

To a Butterfly

O' short lived butterfly
Ye live forever in the dale of beauty
Spreading about the rainbow of colours
Thy honeydew makes saline moments
Of the spectator, sweet and manna
When thy reflection in his eyes
Gets a forever protection…
Monarch like expedition do you make
From country to country
Crossing the boarders of brooks
Meadows, deserts and spiky paths
And occupy the states of gloomy hearts
Diurnal ye are as a man
But stop! There's a wide gulf
Ye console the weary heart in the long run
He grants weary heart to the consoled one

Materialism….

He is not just a countryman of mine
Even we have a same boundary line
But many years turned into history
Our looks remain a part of mystery

Hunter…

To brothel Cyprian goes
And priest to the Church
What's there for them
They are in search

Tis' a Chance that evaluates

In the game of luck and doom
There is crash there is boom
Some win without action
Some actions lack reaction
Some fall in exertion
Some succeed in desertion
Some defeat in holding seat
Some triumph in their beat
Tis' a chance that evaluates
Success and defeat are just baits

A Bird
David Ehrgott Oct 2014
A bird at port authority
has no wings
he just sits there
whimpering
because he has no wings

He can not fly
so he hops
for his food
and he dances a soft shoe
for his tips

A disabled american
picks him up
I will be your wings
says the vet
but, we can not fly

He hides the bird
in his coat
as he pays the fare
to go through the tunnel
into jersey

In ridgewood, rutherford,
passaic, and paterson
and other train/bus stations
the bird dances for vets of one nation
but, only one vet gets drunk on that

Mary had a little lamb.
"So What!" she snootedly stated to the vegan.

New York A State Of Crime

An Open Letter to the Governor of New York
and the Mayor of New York City.

Dear Sirs,

Why is it, year after year, you two insist upon keeping the sales
of the miracle herb cannabis in the hands of criminals. Do you Not
know the infrastructures that so desperately need to be repaired
could be financed by a state and city sales tax of this wonder-kind plant.
But, no!  You keep letting criminals gain power by letting them have all the profits.  Dear sirs, please open your minds for a moment. A state and city run controlled cannabis operation would not only generate enough income for bridge and tunnel repairs but, also aid in the education system. Most important if you legalize the miracle herb, you could have the police concentrate on the larger problem which is 5th graders hooked on ****** for LIFE! If you cannot see the progress this would create then, you surely have kickbacks from criminals. Allowing these lowlife **** to continue to reap profits from illegal sales is just plain insanity and a criminal act in itself. Please stop giving criminals power. And concentrate on the Real issues.

Thank you in advance,

A Poet
