The Task \ Ruth Pitter
Dave Bosworth Apr 2013
Reverse the flight of Lucifer,
Hurl back to heaven the fallen star;
Recall Eve's fate, establish her
Again where the first glories are:
Again where Eden's rivers are.

****** back contention, merge in one
Warring dualities, make free
Night of the moon, day of the sun;
End of the old war of land and sea,
Saying, There shall be no more sea.

With love of love now make an end;
Let male and female strive no more;
Let good and bad their quarrel mend
And with an equal voice adore.

Bow lofty saint, rise humble sin,
Fall from your throne, creep from your den:
The king, the kingdom is within,
That is for evermore, amen:
Was dead and is alive. Amen

what is hard
           is knowledge
                       of you;

but it's an absence
                           feeling like you're going crazy
That the ideas could burst your head   open

that's ignorance of you

At least give the devil his due;
A thousand wind-swept contenders become a few
As the coast erodes & tides
approach
we wonder if God ever spoke
_
the drained heart of god
Initials & pillars both flown, blown away
To await scripture from a new era
Is he there, in a modicum of fear

Moon's a haunt
Dave Bosworth Mar 2013
There she blows
at last;
have to tip-tap
type into the night but
somebody else has left a light on -
feels as if somebody half-naked has told me of beauty
but in a dream &

I escape to a nether-world where a dark-eyed dog is faithful & I can hear
myself whisper ' will never forget this moment'
The blue dew is a thousand separate universes shimmering; at once the lawn is sea,
but she is huge & pleasant & warming &, I walk glowing within

Sometimes I see the whites of Dog's eyes
to realise this: what he
thinks is what all creatures think: will you miss
me when I'm gone?

The sky is egg yolk & severity under the wiry etchings of
the trees
their split-ends scratching in the mix
Jimi Hendrix comforts the ache
& torpor of cold March
And I'm reminded I left this place once previous, hearing
Beach Boys in the stereo

every now and again you are trudging
maybe it's an enormous space
might be one huge book. On a full day you are a beautiful soundwave
Beaming at me. I know all the pretty girls want to smile really,
In some ways, we're only driven by
what becomes two
& anyway, eyes
Are eyes

As food for thought
the girl shines bright,
the bird - grey; then I sink lower, sleepy
in my seat. They exchange luminosity.
No principle of geology forced the bird out of stone
But so, the girl is eroding
sighing, alone.
Contemplating the garden

I thought it was cynical
that the green urged me
to stare deep
to see the panorama -
the dreary sodden land
of England, drenched.
But yes,
it was spring-tinge
of yellow-greenish

woke up this morning
'feels as if my limbs are ******* on too tight' I tell Dog
And further more ten minutes are needed in the black and witless
So then a hurry of imaginings
& so maybe sparked by the suggesting reflecting of the rotational clock parts
I don't know
wondering purged
but she was like an illusion
i could swear it
And I felt like being inside a movie
but a good one,
when the boy sees the girl
for the dawning moment.
Who know's if it's the soundtrack
hinting at hands to drag heels
wander sometimes

depends which way you see
hearing to listen
But all in all you have to decide
which shall you step on
the snail that's living
or the shell that's there
in the cracks in the paving slabs
There's always moss giving and
growing
and always .

I switched off my android self
It wasn't akin to cutting a cord
It took only a few seconds to sever the link
And there's perhaps people I shall never hear of again.
but in my madness I reduced them to lines of script and a resumé,
coupled with a profile photo
forgeries of self, convoluted creations
Am I more than binary code?

Did you want the cynical side
or the truth?
Would you like my best effort
Or a look-a-likey ruse?
I imagined you in luminosity
I imagined you totally.
But you're a conviction I've had, since about turning 20
& there's no frozen way
I could ever forget you
believe me, I nearly tried

Way down, in a summer hemisphere
I don't know why, but you seem to be
There always, smiling,
whichever shade is in your hair

There's gold, somewhere

A bland moon fell upon us all the minute we realised we couldn't

just like a human mind
Is far from being defeatist in the sun

what you abhor doing
So make it anyway

Oh lately my heart
Just a violent vibration of red mist
Needs your touch
To
close the welt in my fears
I love that look in your eyes. Didn't think
it was mine,
But I ..
